  1. Remove Wisconsin/cheese/beer, add Michigan/cars/motown. Why are you a Michigan fan?
  2. You just compared sports fandom and the Green Bay Packers to the holocaust. I think you're overreacting a touch.
  3. lol...I love that there's a "legitimate" way to have scattered loyalties. Legitimate: I grew up in Iowa/Nebraska/Kansas, and there's no pro team there, so my fandom is fairly spread out. Not legitimate: I was a huge Charles Barkley fan growing up, so I'm a Rockets fan.
  4. Another note about the Bulls schedule: After 20 games, Sagarin rated the Bulls schedule as #1 in the NBA. After 45 games, it's now #30. That's how crazy weak it's been the past 25 games. The Bulls losses during that stretch? Twice to Charlotte, once to Philly, once to New York, once to the Clippers, and once to New Jersey. That's it.
  5. I really hope the Rangers aren't planning to use Napoli to "spell" Yorvit Torrealba.
  6. Well, that story is most likely false. And if it's not false, those high school coaches/trainers should be indicted.
  7. I'd add Manumaleuna to the list of players I don't want back. He was worse than useless this year.
  8. Please please please. It would be nice to get a conference victory once in awhile. Staying in the Big East would give DePaul maybe a 0.0005% chance of ever making the NCAA Tournament again, while going to the Horizon League would probably give us a 25% chance. Unless the TCU move is football only, I don't see how they go with 17 teams in basketball (and DePaul is the only team I can see them readily giving up) Notre Dame?
  9. Wow, serious choke by South Korea in the Asian Cup semis. That's got to be the first time I've seen a team miss all its penalties in a shootout.
  10. Well, the soft underbelly of the schedule is over. Just like the first 20 games were insane, the next 20 games are going to be a challenge for the Bulls. Two games each against Utah, New Orleans, Orlando, Miami, Atlanta and Charlotte (who are terrible but 2-0 against the Bulls), along with games against San Antonio, Portland, and the LA Clippers (again, not good, just beat the Bulls in Chicago). Another stretch where 10-10 would be perfectly reasonable (although probably take them out of what contention there is for the #1 seed). Also, the Bulls are now 10-0 within the (admittedly terrible) Central division. Since divisional realignment in 2004, no team has swept its division (Boston 2008-09 went 15-1). After the home game against Indiana this week, the remaining 5 games are on the road (2 v Mil, 1 v Ind, 1 v Det, 1 v Cle). EDIT: Also, the Bulls have a chance yet to defeat every team in the NBA (thank you, 13-5 record vs the West). Here are the teams they haven't beat yet: San Antonio, Utah, New Orleans, LA Clippers, Orlando, Atlanta, New York and Charlotte. Not going to be easy and/or likely, but possible.
  11. I eat them about once a year, and usually only at a big party. It's way too easy to polish off like 10 of those.
  12. oh lord, hit me with some pictures or something, that sounds off the charts Recipe later, once I find it. Recipe: Ingredients: ~1 lb boneless chicken breasts/cutlets ~1 lb thick-cut bacon brown sugar chili powder (to taste) toothpicks - Prep brown sugar + chili powder on a bowl/plate, stir together to mix. I use about 1 tbsp chili powder to 1 cup brown sugar, which gives it a little heat but not overpowering. It's not an exact science, just play around and see what works. - Cut raw chicken breasts into 1-in cubes, try to keep size even so they all cook the same - Cut bacon strips in half - Wrap bacon around chicken cube, hold with toothpick. - Roll bacon-wrapped chicken around in sugar/chili mixture until evenly coated, and put finished ones in baking pan (or cookie sheet, I guess, just something to hold them in there) - Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 mins, or until chicken is cooked, bacon is cooked, and sugar mixture caramelizes around it. - Makes about 30-40 or so per batch.

  14. My favorite Super Bowl hors d'ouevre is diced chicken, wrapped in thick cut bacon, and coated in a mixture of brown sugar and chili powder. Sweet, salty and hot. Totally making them again.
  15. According to FO's numbers, 15 of Cutler's INTs this year were targeting (or at least in the general direction, so attributed to target) Knox. Curious how much of that was Knox, and how much of it was Cutler and Knox just happening to be the #1 target.
  16. i'm not trying to stir the pot, but how is what MJD said worse than what was said by Asante Samuel, or Dockett, Curry? Mostly the hypocrisy due to MJD sitting out the final two games with an undisclosed knee injury while Jacksonville needed just one win.
  17. It'd also be nice to get a big OL or 5.
  18. Mike Wilbon - also a moron.
  19. Best case scenario: Cutler is pissed at everybody else in the league, it brings the team together, and they run roughshod through everyone next year.
  20. On a positive note, the second place team in the Central is about to go 9 games under .500. The Bulls could potentially clinch the division by win #40.
  21. Biggest single game IN CHICAGO in Chicago sports history. For reals. No. Just no. What one is bigger? Just in the last 25 years: NFC Championship: 1985, 2006 NBA Finals: 1991-1993, 1996-1998 NBA EC Finals: 1993, 1998 NHL Stanley Cup Finals: 2010 NLCS: 2003 Games 6 and 7 ALCS: World Series 2005
  22. Biggest single game IN CHICAGO in Chicago sports history. For reals. No. Just no.
  23. I wish Cutler wouldn't have gotten hurt, because now all the mouth-breather sports writers will bitch for 6 months about Jay Cutler's toughness, even if he tore an ACL or something.
  24. Exactly, he played a quarter with a concussion and we're questioning his toughness? No one knows when the concussion happened. It was never really made official. There were two plays that people thought it occurred on. I think one was the last play of the second quarter. Stop making crap up just to get arguments going. Not a good time. The schtick is already old, but it's really tired and annoying today.
  25. About the playcall: Say we convert on 3rd and 4th down. Say we even manage somehow to score another TD, are we still winning in overtime (Now that just a field goal doesn't suffice)? Game was still technically in doubt but the game was lost long beforehand. Yeah, because that Packer offense was just moving up and down the field...
