  1. Defensive rebounding is what killed the Illini yesterday. Brad said in the postgame that they figured Edey on Rodgers would be a thing, but it's a hard thing to practice because they just don't have someone that big, so they didn't practice it enough to deal with it better. Otherwise, they neutralized Loyer, Braden Smith was managed pretty well, Edey was managed as well as could be, they just weren't up for anything else, and just could not stop Purdue from getting second chances, particularly early on. Sure, Purdue shot lights out in the first half, but it came back to normal by the end, it was just too big of a deficit to recover from.
  2. But hey, Bedard is the youngest NHL all star in NHL history, so it's not all bad!
  3. Other potential positives are all TJs social media is reactivated, and the NIL store is selling his gear again. EDIT: And the gear is gone from the store again. Must have been inadvertent.
  4. Hearing more good news about TJ today, hoping this gets resolved sooner than later.
  5. Last I heard, TJ is currently getting the "Self-help" he needs to get this situation resolved quickly.
  6. Fun fact, Texas and Washington are both playing Michigan next season.
  7. Bills' playoff swing is huge in next week's Bills-Dolphins game. If Bills win, they are the 2 seed. If Bills lose, they are out of the playoffs unless Jags and Steelers lose.
  8. Let's go nobody tonight!
  9. If Pittsburgh can hold off Seattle here, it will be amusing to root for a tie tonight.
  10. If the things I said above happen, this is how it shakes out. EDIT: If there is a 3 team tie and they don't all have games against each other, the tiebreaker is conference record, and the Bears win that tiebreakers against either TB or NO.
  11. If the Bears simply had won every game they had a 90%+ chance of winning in the 4th quarter, they'd be 10-6 and leading the division right now.
  12. The Bears remaining path to the playoffs: Week 16: - Steelers beat Seahawks - Packers and Vikings tie Week 17: - Bears beat Packers - Lions beat Vikings - Cards beat Seahawks - Either Panthers beat Bucs or Falcons beat Saints
  13. It was the 2 minute warning, clock would stop regardless, get a 1st down you can just kneel it out from there, effectively.
  14. There's an argument to be made that the Bears are better than the Eagles right now. They probably should be on a 7 game winning streak at this point.
  15. The second was a 2 pt attempt for the lead.
  16. Oh no, I think the Beras win % is over 97% now.
  17. Once again, the Bears intercept a desperation pass on 4th down to cost themselves 30 yards of field position.
  18. Bears have secured the #1 pick now with the Cards win.
  19. Yes, 2 of those 3 things need to happen for the hopes to remain. If the Packers and Vikings tie, then a Bears win and Lions win would put the Bears 2nd in the division. If there is a winner in the Pack-Vikes game tonight, they clinch ahead of the Bears.
  20. No, there is another route. It just involves a Packers-Vikings tie tonight.
  21. For those still hoping for the hilarity of the Bears in the playoffs, here are the rooting interests: - Bucs over Saints - Giants over Rams - Steelers over Seahawks - Vikings/Packers tie As long as the Bears win and 3 of those 4 things happen, the Bears playoff hopes will survive another week.
  22. For those interested, here is the Whitman press conference regarding Shannon: TLDW: -University has a no tolerance policy on arrests of this nature, thus the suspension. - An ethics Panel will convene within 48 hours to determine course forward based on facts available. If they list the suspension it'll stay that way until a legal resolution is reached. If they uphold the suspension, it'll remain that way until a legal resolution is reached. - Shannon's first day in court will be Jan 18. - There was no written report from the police or DA until this week. All communication prior to that has been verbal with authorities and involved persons. -
  23. If the information I heard about the situation is true, everyone at Illinois is surprised the DA brought charges, as the incident seemed pretty BS from the get go. Again, only hearing one side of the situation of course, but both Whitman and Underwood seemed to be behind Shannon's version of events, but we'll see what Whitman says tonight.
  24. Well, it's a weird day to be an Illini fan. They will play FDU tonight without Shannon. Before the game, at 6pm, AD Josh Whitman will address the Shannon situation. What I know for sure thus far: - It happened in September, while Illinois was at Kansas for football - Shannon has been cooperating with the investigation since it started in September - Charges were formally brought by the Kansas assistant DA on Thursday, which by U of I policy triggered the automatic suspension. Shannon went to Lawrence for arraignment immediately upon the charges being filed. - He is maintaining his innocence and wants to take it to trial to prove innocence rather than try to set up a plea deal. - Not sure how long he'll be suspended for, as I imagine this won't go to trial quickly. There are potential avenues to him playing again until the trial takes place, but it's up to Whitman and the college at this point.
  25. 2 guys get through 6 blockers on a 3 man rush.
