  1. Yes, the only real annoyances are: 1) SCS posts in almost every thread, and 2) SCS offers zero insight in his posts. I'm trying to nip this trend in the bud, because this was a nice forum to read before SCS found it.
  2. The best first year players, by OPS+, post-integration (min 100 games played): 1. Fred Lynn, 1975, 162 2. Albert Pujols, 2001, 157 3. Ryan Braun, 2007, 154 4. Mitchell Page, 1977, 154 5. Alvin Davis, 1984, 147 6. Frank Robinson, 1956, 143 7. Gil McDougald, 1951, 142 8. Dwight Smith, 1989, 141 9. Mike Hargrove, 1941, 140 10. Jeff Bagwell, 1991, 139 Got to figure Trout is going to slide in that list somewhere at this point. Oh, and including pre-WWII, the best first year was 1939 Ted Williams. EDIT: Piazza/McGwire don't make the list because their rookie years weren't technically their first years.
  3. It shouldn't take much evaluation, and yet you still manage to fail miserably at it. This is what I am trying to get through to you. I'm not even mad, it's really just amazing how consistently awful your posts are at player evaluation.
  4. Yeah, tiebreaker has been head to head. Fortunately, I can win by 500 this week and still get the 3rd pick.
  5. SCS, stop trying to evaluate players.
  6. Theocracy gets Scoscia's 7th round pick in the Hanrahan-Betancourt deal.
  7. If he's going into 8th grade, he can clearly already handle the LSU curriculum.
  8. No, she finished 5th in Australian qualifying.
  9. Olympic organizers made a huge mistake, showing the South Korean flag while introducing the North Korean team for their match against Colombia today. The North Korean team left.
  10. Aramis Fan only comes by to post when things are going poorly for the Cubs? No way!
  11. That's true, considering the thread is already full of baseless conjecture.
  12. The sheer amount of conjecture the past 12 hours in this thread is migraine-inducing.
  13. Are people seriously bothered by the guy wanting to hear this from his boss instead of the way it came out? I think we've been reading exactly that for the last 3-4 pages. It's like Mad Libs. ______________ (player name) is _______________ (action) because _______________________ (baseless conjecture)
  14. Derrek Lee rejected a trade to the Angels in 2010. Which is a completely different situation and not at all the same thing as what's happening now.
  15. Because a different situation with a different player and a different front office three years ago is practically the same thing.
  16. Of course, that's about three unique steps of projection... I'm gonna be really mad at him when he punches Theo and says "I'm not going anywhere, bitch!" And then torches Wrigley in response.
  17. Of course, that's about three unique steps of projection...
  18. ...not be pitching 110 pitches in a meaningless game in July when he's going to be on an innings limit and is probably getting fairly close to it already.
  19. So now any old tweet is a source worthy of posting?
  20. Jason Kubel is 3rd in the NL in HRs now, just like everyone anticipated.
  21. It's my son's 5th birthday, and frankly, I'm more interested in hearing his thoughts on Dempster and Garza trade possibilities.
  22. Keep in mind too the constant air of superiority that the AL has over the NL right now. They probably think the #1 pitcher in the NL is no better than a #4 starter in the AL.
  23. Because he was a 30 year old in AAA and they didn't have a dire short-term need for him.
  24. Yes, the plan is to trade Dempster. Germano can start.
