  1. Those are the three.
  2. 3 pitchers so far this season have pitched multiple shutouts. Who are they?
  3. The trajectory on that ball was insane. There was no way that shouldn't have been a goal.
  4. :( Dusty just had to finish the job, didn't he.
  5. Damn it, Ghana.

  7. Tsonga is out too. It's just Murray and nobody.
  8. Brazil-Uruguay 1-1 midway through the second half. Forlan missed a penalty in the 14th minute, but Brazil has had the better of play overall.
  9. Yes, the relegation should do wonders for Columbus's outlook.
  10. something something blind squirrel something something nut. So is David the blind squirrel and cubbyvirus is the nut? Well, this is awkward. I thought we were cool. I was looking for a way to bring it back around to cubbyvirus being crazy, since he repeatedly gave up on the Hawks all year after giving up on the Bears every week all year. You were simply collateral damage in the joke.

  12. Reading the article that he's gone 10 minutes ago. That's just sad. Ignorance is bliss, I guess. No, bliss is no longer having to watch Marmol pitch. He certainly had some good years (2007-2010) but he has run his course in Chicago. I won't miss him and if that means I'm "ignorant" then so be it. The Cubs employed one of the best relievers in baseball with the most ridiculous slider ever, and the only thing that you enjoy about it is him being released? That's just ignoring anything that happened more than a year ago (and the textbook definition of ignorant).

  14. Best Marmol memories? I know at the end of 2007, he had a 2 inning, 5K performance against the Brewers to hold them off for the division (I think he actually pitched the 6th and 7th and got the win). Crazy numbers in 2007.
  15. As much as Marmol was maligned, he was really awesome from 2007 to 2010.
  16. You are the one who came into the playoff hockey thread the morning after a Stanley Cup win trying to convince everyone how irrelevant hockey is. I'm really not. I just had to take issue with that statement because playoff baseball is [expletive] awesome and I won't stand to see it take a back seat to anything. Wrong fight, wrong day, man.

  18. #5 Nadal and #11 Wawrinka already out of #18 John Isner's quarter now.
  19. Balotelli out with a torn quad. There goes the interest level in the Spain-Italy semi.

  21. Man, the US defensive marking was just awful.
  22. Wheels came off at the end of the half, now down 3-0.
  23. If anything, I take it as more of a sign of the Cubs' awful prospect development than a sign of how low the hit% is on highly touted Cub position prospects.
  24. Law is right, though, the easiest way to get a job in baseball is by playing pro baseball.
  25. Now where it could really get ugly is Uruguay-Tahiti if Uruguay draws v Nigeria.
