  1. If Seattle and Tampa Bay lose, Carolina clinches a playoff spot.
  2. I'm not sure that's true. Basically, in order for the Bears to somehow make the playoffs, they'll have to pass at least 2 of Seattle, Green Bay, Minnesota and Atlanta. Granted, Atlanta is currently closer than Minnesota, but those are the two most likely to falter over the second half, so either win/loss result in that game is good for the Bears. As long as it's not a tie.
  3. Nunn, Black and Tate all played tonight, and the Illini actually looked...good? I mean, they'll still probably lose tomorrow, but hey.
  4. I wouldn't be too surprised if Gase or Fangio is coaching this team in the next couple years.

  6. Isn't it a bit early to be talking about selling off players next offseason? We're lik 15 games into the season.
  7. Illinois has 3 starters missing, one upperclassman playing, scheduled crazy tough early, and won't play a home game for a month. Given that, they look better than I expected so far.
  8. Honduras already in trouble after no points in two games.
  9. Wrong thread, obviously senile or incredibly drunk Careless.
  10. Also the difference between leading the division at 6-3 with 2 division wins and basically having no shot at the division down 3 games with 1 NFC win.
  11. I think the only way ND gets into the title game now is if Clemson loses the ACC title game. Even then, it might be tough. Oklahoma/OK State, Iowa/OSU/MSU, Alabama/Florida should get the other 3 spots.
  12. 1. Zack Greinke - Yankees 2. David Price - Yankees 3. Jason Heyward - Yankees 4. Chris Davis - Yankees 5. Justin Upton - Yankees 6. Johnny Cueto - Yankees 7. Yoenis Cespedes - Yankees 8. Alex Gordon - Yankees 9. Jordan Zimmermann - Yankees 10. Jeff Samardzija - Yankees 11. Mike Leake - Yankees 12. Denard Span - Yankees 13. Kenta Maeda - Yankees 14. Wei-Yin Chen - Yankees 15. Dexter Fowler - Yankees 16. Daniel Murphy - Yankees 17. Scott Kazmir - Yankees 18. Ian Kennedy - Yankees 19. Yovanni Gallardo - Yankees 20. Ben Zobrist - Yankees I'll be the control.
  13. If they weren't defending champs and were judged solely on the merit of this season, they'd be around 9 or 10 in the rankings Or 5th. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/sagarin/ The committee uses more of an eye test than pure numbers. OSU hasn't looked particularly good beating just about anyone this year That's just not true. And exactly where the "eye test" fails. When people say eye test they infer ignorance about what actually happens. Besides, you just said based on merit only they'd be 9th or 10th. Computers they're more like 5th, and to the committee they're 3rd. And to AP voters, they'd been first. So what merit do you base your ignorance on this time?

  15. Rough debut for Jalen Coleman-Lands. 5 fouls and 5 points.
  16. Of course, now that I say that, it's a game with 6 to play. This team will be good later in the year, but right now it's not.
  17. This is 3 games running now dating back to last year where the Illini were never really ever in the game. BT Tourney against Michigan, NIT against Alabama, and now here. Nunn and Black are out today, but this is still poor.
  18. That looked like a badly broken finger for Tate. Compound fracture.
  19. Unfortunately, nobody is ever going to know exactly what happened except Kane and the woman. Whatever did happen was enough to cause her to immediately go authorities, which is the correct response to a sexual assault and extremely hard to do for someone recently traumatized. For that she gets her identity released and gets constantly harassed by strangers with no business being involved, and the only way to make it stop is to disappear.
  20. So what, now, we can't draw meaningful conclusions from one game?
  21. Well that was an eventful first period.
  22. Committee still swayed by the SEC... 1. Clemson 2. LSU 3. Ohio State 4. Alabama 5. Notre Dame 6. Baylor 7. Michigan State 8. TCU 9. Iowa 10. Florida 11. Stanford 12. Utah 13. Memphis 14. Oklahoma State 15. Oklahoma 16. Florida State 17. Michigan 18. Ole Miss 19. Texas A&M 20. Mississippi State 21. Northwestern 22. Temple 23. UCLA 24. Toledo 25. Houston
  23. No people, just Felix My parents don't know jack about FIP or anything like that, and so they despise Strop. I'm sure they are not alone. What I don't understand is why people can't identify that his stuff is [expletive] filthy. Nearly Marmol in his prime unhittable when he's right. dude had an ERA in the 2s with a WHIP of 1...it's not like you need to be well versed in metrics to know he's good and he was really [expletive] good the other 2 years he was with the team before this season But he blew a game against the Cardinals, which rends your argument invalid.

  25. Lost in the battle of spite and stupidity is that Grantland was one of the few places on the internet that really emphasized quality writing over stupid clickbait.
