Eight pages since the games started and hardly any mention of how horrible Hammond and Mayock were? You guys are slacking... My personal favorite was when the Saints ran in a touchdown and Hammond said, "No signal yet." NBC then flashed the TD graphic and showed the scoring drive. As the special teams units were coming out on the field, Hammond finally said, "And apparently they ruled it a touchdown." Not sure how Notre Dame fans put up with that [expletive] on a weekly basis during the college season. Edit: Here's a condensed version of the call. Wait, there is seriously another Korver? Why the hell isn't Iowa offering any of them by now? There's 4 of them all together. Two are in college right now. Ones at Creighton the other is at UMKC or something like that. I'm pretty sure Kyle is the only really good one I could be wrong though. They all have that unnecessary K in their name too; besides Kyle, of course. Klayton was on that Drake team that won the MVC before losing to Western Kentucky on a halfcourt shot at the horn.

While I don't think we necessarily gutted our system, I've been leaning towards this position today. I like Garza but that's quite a bit of decent prospects to give up. And, like you, I usually don't really have a problem with trading prospects either. I really don't know what the hell Hendry's trying to do this year.

I think he's banking on the 49ers sucking next year and then reuniting with Harbaugh. I really don't understand why Luck's going to stay at Stanford now. San Francisco still won't be bad enough to get the first overall pick next year.

And again, that game wouldn't have come down to a FG attempt if Matthews didn't get hurt towards the end of the 3rd quarter. It wasn't a coincidence that as soon as Matthews pulled up lame with a hamstring injury, the Redskins were finally able to put points on the scoreboard. I'd say that's more of an unlucky break than hitting an upright on a 53 yard attempt.

because you're looking at this irrationally. what the [expletive] else do you call (Crosby) hitting the left upright with 1 second left to force OT? Wasn't that a 53 yard FG attempt? Crosby has a leg, but at best, that's a 50-50 kick. Not to mention in that game, I think we were like 1/10 on 3rd downs and we were horrific on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 situations in that game.

Or bad coaching. Or poor performance when a game is close and late. Or lack of a running game to run out the clock. Or lack of a run defense to stop the other team from running out the clock... The last two points aren't very good ones. Every game we've lost, we've had to either come back at the very end of the game (where no running is really required), or we've stalled out on offense in overtime. In fact, I think we've been able to successfully run out the clock more often than not this year when need be. Admittedly, I haven't watched all the GB games this season. I was just throwing out other possibilities besides "luck" which seems to be a catch all for people when the results don't match the way the team looks on paper. It's definitely not luck either. I put 75% of the losses solely on McCarthy with the other 25% coming on injuries to Rodgers and Matthews.

Absolutely. And I'm not saying they should be taken lightly. But those 6 losses do show that they are clearly a flawed team as well (undoubtedly injuries are a factor). And I thought this morning that they might be being overhyped by some of the national media. Though admittedly, I've seen more Eagles picks by experts today than I thought I would. For whatever reason the media seems to think Green Bay has played amazing (ESPN said something like this the other day) to close out the season and I don't really know where that comes from. I've actually seen people pick them based off of this. I don't necessarily agree with it, but I can see where they're coming from. We were 15 yards away from beating the Patriots in New England with our backup QB making his first career start. We blew out the Giants in basically a playoff game and our defense put up a tremendous effort against the Bears to get us into the postseason. I guess the best thing to come about the last few weeks is that we're battle tested. We've basically been in a playoff environment for the last three weeks. I hope that means something come Sunday afternoon.

they have the 2nd best point differential in all of football, despite a tough schedule (like the rest of the NFCN) just means their coaching sucks and their quarterback isn't really a hero-type. The coaching obviously sucks but look at the numbers that Rodgers has. To put fault on him for our record in close games is borderline ridiculous.

It's the same thing as last year when we were getting a lot of love before our game against the Cardinals. That's one of the main reasons why I don't feel too good about this game.

Well, I mean ... it did kinda work. The 4th quarter brought them back from a big deficit. That strategy is dumb. I want my best players in at the end of the game when it's close. You got everything you can and more out of that unit. It's ridiculous how your second best player, and best big man, wasn't in the game for the entire final quarter. It sure would've been nice if our best rebounder was out there to break up the failed alley-oop at the end of the game. Basically, Thibodeau punted last night.

Cleveland. I believe that they're going to try to get the rookie scale up to include this year's draft as well. So I'm not really sure why people are claiming that he's going to lose $50 million in the process.

McCarthy did the surprise onside against New England to open that game up and he also did it in the playoff game against Arizona last year when it became apparent that our defense couldn't get a single stop.

? The first Bears/Packers thread was 14 pages of Packers fans saying they actually won the game. Don't lump all of us into that category.
