  1. BLANCO! plz have more games like this.
  2. hey, i'll take 2 runs scoring over 1 any day
  3. :pukel: I'm not saying one way or another if #21 should be retired...but I don't think his # deserves the same respect that Sandberg's does and I would hate to see #21 under #23. I don't see how you can't retire it. Sammy was the face of this franchise for many years. You said "Cubs", people thought "Sammy Sosa." He and McGwire brought a lot of the fans back after the strike. He was the only reason to come out and watch the pathetic teams of 1999, 2000, and 2002. He is a sure-bet HOF'er, hit 500+ homers for this team, and is one of the best players the Cubs ever had. Regardless of what you thought of him when he was here or how he left, you can't deny his importance to this organization and what he did for it while he was here. he put butts in the seats, thus allowing management to sit on their laurals and take a few years off from trying to field a winning team Are you saying Sammy should be punished because he brought people out to the park to see him? i'm saying that sammy was a bad thing for the organization from the stand point of fielding a winning team, therefore he set the franchise back...players who set the franchise back should not be honored in such a way i disagree totally, Sammy had nothing to do with the front office. So he deserves to be punished for setting some of the best single season records in MLB history? If Sosa doesn't have his number retired, there is something seriously wrong with the Cubs organization.
  4. the Sox wouldn't trade Rowand. Makes me think though that they'll take on a lot more of Griffey's contract now. We know the Reds need pitching so McCarthy has to be in the deal and I would probably say Brian Anderson is involved in it as well. McCarthy and Anderson seem to be very steep considering that contract, but who knows how much of that contract the Reds would pay. well forget what i said anyway...i totally forgot about the waiver rules and there is absolutely no way that both McCarthy and Anderson would clear waivers since both are on the 40 man roster.
  5. yep same, i'll be watching pretty much just to see Ryno getting his number retired.
  6. That sucks if he gets dealt. He's productive and he would be cheap next year. Who do the Cubs plan on putting at 2B in 2006? i have no idea if they're getting rid of BOTH Hairston and Walker. Maybe re-sign Nomar for cheap next year and put him at 2B and add Furcal for SS? Regardless, Walker should not be traded period. His option is very cheap next year and it's quite obvious that the organization does not care for Todd Walker at all if they are getting rid of a quality player like him just like that.

  8. only the Cubs can blow a chance like that.
  9. Barrett again fails to get a runner home with RISP and less then 2 outs.
  10. he's a Cub killer, that's about it. If we got him, i'd gurantee you he'd suck it up for us.
  11. It's not Rusch's fault the defense behind him sucks. The first inning was his fault. This inning isn't. regardless, Jeff Conine should not be 2 for 2.
  12. being the last Friday i have at home before school starts, i probably will watch this one. win idiots.
  13. nice AB Barrett  i want to stop watching this terrible team, but i can't...
  14. 3-0 count and Burny comes back to strike out. Sad. now we have the hitless wonders coming up...
  15. DLee, ARam, Z, Prior and Dempster. Now with ARam's injury, it's best to just have him be shut down for the year and call up Fontenot to play 3rd and shut down Nomar to play Cedeno at SS for the rest of the year. Of course, Dusty won't do that in a million years.
