  1. Jaxx lose :( Moore had 3 of the 6 hits including the lone RBI, his 12th homer, tonight. Patterson, Jackson, and Cates had the other Jaxx hits. Boise down 10-4 in the 9th.
  2. Uh, I would think this guy would be worth the gamble at #16.
  3. To the 11th in Jackson... and Vasquez, in his 3rd inning of work, allows a run on 2 singles and an RBI groundout to give Mississippi a 2-1 lead.
  4. Ponson's fatness sucked tonight and he couldn't control his anger and threw at Brian Anderson, which seemed pretty intentional. LaRussa looked pretty upset in the dugout as he slammed the bullpen phone and then took out Ponson and uttered a few expletives at Ponson after he hit Ozuna as well. Both teams were warned after that (for no real reason besides Ponson's dumbness) and Riske went in and hit a batter the next inning in retaliation.
  5. Wow, how the hell did Mourning get away with that crap without getting a technical?
  6. 5 fouls on Shaq. Plz take advantage, Mavs.
  7. Free baseball in Jackson. Jaxx only have 4 hits through 9, but their pitching has been great tonight. Rapada and Vasquez pitched 3 scoreless innings of relief in the 7th, 8th, and 9th.
  8. Refs don't call a very obvious goaltend for Dallas :x
  9. With Hoffpauir gone, he's closing in on the SL home run leader...only a few back now I believe isn't he? Puts him one homer back from Joey Votto of Chatanooga and Ryan Christianson of Montgomery. Brownlie was finished after 5 and only allowed 3 hits, 0 runs, and 0 BB's. He also had 4 K's. Rocky Cherry came in for the 6th and allowed 4 hits, 1 run, and had 2 K's. Could've been much worse than just 1 run in the 6th. After 5 1/2, its all tied up at 1.
  10. Scott Moore goes yard and the Jaxx lead 1-0 after 5!
  11. Daytona loses 5-4 in 10. Berg went 5 innings and allowed 3 hits, 4 runs, 2 earned, 4 BB's, and had 1 K. Stephen Bronderwent 2 and 2/3's of an inning allowing only 1 BB, no hits, and had 3 K's. Tim Layden picked up his first loss of the season as he allowed a walkoff homer in the 10th. He pitched 2 2/3's total allowing the 1 hit, 1 run, 1 BB, and had 2 K's. Ryan Harvey went 1/4 including his 7th homer of the season. Jemel Spearman went 1/4 and had 2 RBI's, Aaron Weston went 1/3 with a BB, and Andrew Lane also had 2 hits and a BB. Jake Muyco made his first start for Daytona and went 0/3 with an RBI and had 2 K's. Jonathan Mota went 0/4 with a K in his first start for Daytona. Jaxx are scoreless after 4. Brownlie is actually pitching decent tonight as he has only allowed 2 hits, 0 BB's, and has 3 K's through 4. Boise leads 1-0 after 2 on a sac fly by Episcopo in the 2nd.
  12. I feel pretty indifferent. For some reason, I don't think that's the way that I'm supposed to feel when my team loses.
  13. But he said he wasn't hurt! Kerry Wood with shoulder problems? I would never believe that! Remember "They" told him that pitching in relief wouldn't hurt his arm! How about the genius move by pitching him the day before he was scheduled to have surgery?
  14. But he said he wasn't hurt! Kerry Wood with shoulder problems? I would never believe that!
  15. Steve Stone was on the Score yesterday and he brought up the point that the Dodgers have had a ton of injuries and are still in 1st place behind Grady Little. You don't hear Grady complaining much about injuries, do you? You can only use that stupid injury excuse for so long. I really don't know how you can defend Baker with a $95 million payroll that has a team 15 games under .500 on June 20th. That is absolutely unacceptable.
  16. They're my 2nd favorite team. With the Cubs as your 3rd favorite, right?
  17. I'm game. So when Steve Kline suggest that Mark Prior get hit by one, it's wrong, and it's okay for two of us to say it. I'm becoming less and less proud to be a Cub fan with comments lke this. There's a 4-page thread on Ozzie Guillen, a manager with a World Series ring and a competitive team this year, and it's all negative. So many "real" Cub fans talk about how obsessed with the Cubs Sox fans are, and how they're fickle, and don't exist. Judging by this section of the board and half the people that are/were Cub "fans," many of us aren't too far from that either. I feel like making some of you feel like that Sox pitcher last night. Grow up. I find it real tough to criticize a manager who just brought a World Series to a town where our manager does nothing but underachieve and make excuses. Yes, it was wrong, but how many of you wouldn't trade Guillen for Baker? Prior has never pissed off anyone in the papers or on the field (hitting Bonds doesn't count). Buerhle is right up there with Bonds among players who are pricks. Someone who accuses Dempster of being on the juice, says Mad Dog uses spit, says the Rangers use a scoreboard to steal signs, someone who tries to kill Travis Hafner, it's pretty easy to wish for a line drive or a 100 mph fastball to his head. Have any of your 227 post not been about the Cards or the White Sox. You are so obsessed with those two teams. Let the hatred go and talk about the cubs some. First off, I talk about the Cubs plenty. Secondly, Jordan>Miller. Miller was the NBA equivilant to Mark Buerhle to me. A prick who played on a team who's guts I hate Wow, relax man. As a Bulls fan, I didn't like Reggie Miller at all when he played the Bulls, but I still believed he was a great player. I was lucky enough to go to his final game at the UC and during the player intros, I joined about 3/4's of the UC and cheered for him. I can understand why people didn't like Miller, but he was a great player and I admired his competitiveness when he played. I also never had nothing against the Pacers, even though they gave the Bulls their toughest challenge in 98. I was their biggest fan when they played the Lakers in the finals a few years later...then again I was also the 76ers and Nets biggest fans when they played LA.
  18. Canzler homers! Wow that ball was crushed.
  19. Wow, this guy pitching right now for Boise is awful.
  20. His ERA has to be close or even above 4 now. Cubs finally win though
  21. Daytona beats Palm Beach, 4-3 in 10. Jemel Spearman had the go-ahead RBI single in the 10th when he drove in Jeff Culpepper. Perez started going 5 innings allowing 4 hits, 0 runs, 2 BB's, and had 4 K's. Billek came in for an inning and 2/3's of relief and gave up 4 hits, 1 run, and had 2 K's. His ERA at Daytona is now up to 6.94. Adalberto Mendez had his 3rd blown save of the season, but also got the win to go 4-0. He went an inning and a third allowing 2 hits and had 1 K. Matt Weber got his first save of the year by pitching a perfect 10th including 2 K's. Jemel Spearman went 3 for 4 and had the game-winning RBI. Ryan Harvey went 1 for 5 with an RBI triple, Alan Rick went 2 for 3 and had an RBI, Jeff Culpepper went 2 for 5 and scored 2 runs. Nate Spears was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Good win for Daytona tonight...their offense might struggle a bit (obviously) with the promotion of Fox, but I believe that they can contend for a 2nd half title in the FSL.
  22. Are we sure this is the Cubs offense we are talking about here?
  23. In other minor league news, Daytona goes to extra innings, thanks in large part to a 2 out RBI double by Nate Spears to tie the game at 3 in the top of the 9th. Harvey has a triple tonight, Spearman and Alan Rick each have 2 hits, and Spears has 3 hits.
