I assume you root for the White Sox? There's nothing wrong with having a few teams you actively hate. What's the point of going to a bar to watch a game with a team you hate on TV? I mean I wouldn't go somewhere to watch a Cardinals, Pistons, or Viqueens game to waste money and root for a team to lose when my team isn't even in that game. -

I knew you could get custom name-# jersey's for NFL teams, I didn't realize you could do if for MLB as well. Could you imagine the reaction you could get wearing that on Wrigley. then again most people would probably be to drunk to get it. Or they might notice and just not find it all that funny. I'll admit the "4-3" thing is a bit overplayed, but the jersey got a chuckle out of me. As far as Pierre goes, it's no secret that Hendry wants him back. It's also no secret that the White Sox like him either. Personally, I'd like to see Pie in CF next year, and use our money somewhere else (like on Soriano and Zito) rather than on Pierre. We have a player who is capable of putting up better numbers than Pierre in Pie. Besides, Felix can't get off to a much worse start than Juan did to start the 06 season.

A very good comparison IMO. Not to mention both teams starting pitching was supposed to be the best in all of baseball, yet both staffs underachieved the whole season. Both teams also had offenses, on paper, that looked to be the best in all of baseball. However both had their streaks of where the offense looked extremely futile and anemic. Both teams lived and died by the long ball. I remember in 04 when the wind was blowing in at Wrigley that I thought we had no chance of winning the game because our whole team was built around sluggers. It seems like it's the exact same way with the White Sox as well. The thing is, I know Williams isn't going to stand pat in the offseason. He's going to make some changes and have the Sox contending again next year. I wish Hendry would do the same thing :( -

Week 2: Bears vs. Detroit - Sunday, Sept. 17th, 12 pm CST

Much easier to say that this week for Williams. They get the Packers in Detroit on Sunday. I don't say this often, but Go Packers! As long as the pass defense shows up, we should win. That and if the offensive line learns how to run block. -
OU isn't bad though. They handled NIU and they've got Solich(has he ever lost to Mizzou?). On the other hand we've got home field and they couldn't move the ball at all against Rutgers. I expect a smaller margin than Ole Miss, but not as close a game as UNM. We score 27-31, they get 6 or 7. I don't know about Ohio. They beat NIU pretty easily, but they looked like crap in their first game, and yesterday. Judging by you guys on here, it seems like Mizzou has a good QB, something NIU currently lacks (unless we ever start Dan Nicholson). You guys should be able to handle the Cats, but definitely don't underestimate them. I did and I saw what happened to the Huskies.

My weekly post: NIU should handle Indiana St. The Sycs have lost 24 straight games, and many of those losses were in I-AA competition. They lost to Murray State by 21, a pretty subpar I-AA school. If NIU doesn't get 60, something is seriously wrong. Oh and even though NIU beat Buffalo by 18, Phil Horvath is still a very bad quarterback. SIU should have a walk in the park against Arkansas Pine-Bluff. As long as the coaching staff makes sure we don't have letdown after the big win in Bloomington, we should win by a couple of TD's, at minimum. Illinois...well, hopefully Juice gets the start. Other than that, that's probably the only positive coming from the Illini this season.

For some reason, I can see this happening. It seems like Williams and Guillen both realized they screwed up by adding more power and going away from speed this season (even though that's entirely false as their pitching has been their demise). I don't think Podsednik will be back with the Sox next year, but I would be very surprised if Kenny Williams does not go after Pierre. They seem to be pretty big on having a fast leadoff man.

Is Russ Weil playing at all this year? I went to high school with him. He was our stud RB when we finished 3rd in the 6A state playoffs. And is Kyle Knezetic still the long snapper? He was on that team too. Weil was getting some action in at FB today. He had a pretty stupid personal foul penalty when Illinois was driving when they were only down 14-7. Zook got in his face and even gave him a shove on the sidelines. No idea about Knezetic.

Juice has looked alright for Illinois today. Definitely their only positive in this game. I wonder if Zook will finally start him next week after another craptacular performance by Brasic.

And thats YOUR opinion. I disagree with that. Is that ok? Yes it is OK, but it's not just his opinion. It's the opinion of a lot of knowledgeable basefall fans. Wins are meaningless because they relate to a team's offense as much (if not more) than the pitcher. Pitcher A could stink up the joint yet win 9-8, while Pitcher B could pitch a masterpiece but lose 1-0 on an unearned run. Without question Pitcher B would have pitched the better game, yet he'd have a loss while Pitcher A would have a win. Well said. Look at a game earlier this year when Reyes threw a one-hitter against the Sox and still got the loss. He made one bad pitch in a game where he was very dominant. Wins are not a very good stat to measure a pitcher's performance because of the exact reason that you mentioned.
