  1. Boise wins 9-4. Nashville lost, so Iowa still trails them by 3 games in the PCL.
  2. There won't be any changes. There wasn't any changes after we were swept by the Padres at home. There weren't any changes after the 8 game losing streak. There weren't any changes after the Braves series. There weren't any changes during the All-Star break. Don't expect any changes right now. Besides, it's not like these are important games. But isn't the point that ... were there any urgency to win, that those games would have been important games? I'm guessing that's your point. The front office -- Hendry & MacPhail -- conceded the season long ago. Why not? The cash register keeps turning over. Yeah, that was my point. And don't get me started on the front office...

  4. It's only preseason... right? True. Everyone knows Favre is a good QB. The only thing I keep wondering is, how much longer is Aaron Rogers & his agent going to put up with watching the old career waste away on the bench while Favre decides which year he should retire in? My guess is, if Favre comes back next year Rogers will be asking for a trade. I wouldn't blame Rodgers in that case. Next year will be his 3rd year in the league and basically 99.9% of QB's drafted in the 1st round are starting by the 3rd year. I think he'll be more than ready to make an impact starting next year as well. It will be interesting to see what happens.

  6. Lock Haven (no clue who these guys are) @ #17 Southern Illinois, Thursday at 7 central As for the real football, hopefully NIU can give tO$U all they can handle. Wolfe could be a challenge for a young Ohio St. defense. I think it's going to be a closer game than what people are indicating. If Illinois loses to Eastern, it's going to be an embarassment to the entire state of Illinois.
  7. "Albert Pujols was on his way to the Hall of Fame before injuries caught up to him." Miller was talking about Albert Belle, but slid Pujols' name in there instead of Belle's. Whoops.
  8. Nashville lost 2-0, so Iowa has cut the lead down to 2 games in the division.
  9. Walkoff homer by Montanez and Iowa wins 2-1!
  10. Agreed. Just take the next month and a week off and just let the wrist heal up without risking more injury to it. There really is no advantage, at least in my opinion, by bringing back Lee right now.
  11. Jeff Weaver is arguably one of the worst starters in the entire majors right now.
  12. Peoria loses 7-1...only run for the Chiefs was a homer by Chirinos.
  13. I just broke the Gallagher-Veal tie :) IMO, definitely one of them deserves it. I chose Gallagher because he's having great success, such as Veal, but he's doing it at a higher level.
  14. Walkoff RBI single by Deardorff and Iowa wins it 5-4!
  15. EPatt with a bunt single! 1st and 2nd with no outs! Restovich draws a walk. Bases loaded now with still nobody out.
  16. Peoria wins 3-2! Chiefs only had 5 hits, but Reynolds solo homer proved to be the difference in the game. Jaxx now down 6-4 in the 8th...Huntsville scored twice in the 7th and once in the 8th to gain a 2-run advantage. Iowa is tied at 4 in the top of the 9th.
  17. Daytona ended up winning 2-1 :) Jaxx are down 3-1 in the bottom of the 5th. Iowa is down 4-1 in the 6th.
  18. My vote is a toss-up between Gallagher and Veal, but I'd have to go with Sean.
  19. Jaxx lost 5-2. Pavlik got the loss as he went 5 innings, allowing 7 hits, 5 runs, 4 ER, walked 2, and struck out 5. Brownlie had his second straight good relief apperance in a row as he pitched a 1-2-3 6th. Holdzkom pitched two scorless innings, only allowing one hit and struck out one. Atlee pitched a 1-2-3 9th, including striking out one. Brandon Sing was 1/4 with an RBI double. Chris Walker, Richard Lewis, and Miguel Negron were all 1/4. Weston was 1/3 and Jake Fox was 1/2.
  20. Daytona won 4-2. Berg went 5, allowing 7 hits, 1 run, walked none, and struck out 1. Bronder pitched 1 and 2/3's of an inning in relief, allowing 2 hits, 3 walks, and 1 run. Layden pitched a scoreless inning, allowing just one walk and struck out 1. Schappert earned the save as he pitched 1 and 1/3 of an inning, allowing 1 hit, 0 runs, 2 BB's, and struck out 2. Matt Ciaramella was 1/3 with a homer, 2 RBI's, and a run scored. Nate Spears was 2/3 with two doubles and two runs scored. Jemel Spearman was 1/3 with a double and a walk. Robinson, Craig, and Simokaitis were each 1/4.
  21. Jaxx win 4-2! Iowa also won, 7-3. Soto, Restovich, and Deardorff each homered. Pie was 0/5. EPatt had another good night going 2/3 with a double and an RBI. Williams actually had a good start going 6 1/3, giving up 9 hits, 3 ER's, walked none, and struck out 1.
