  1. Felix goes yard in the 1st! His 3rd of the season with Iowa.
  2. Wait, he took Hill out after just 66 pitches of shutout baseball? I'm still a fan of Sweet Lou, but what the hell? We had a man on 3rd and 2 outs. We had to pinch hit for Hill. Maybe if we were trailing and it were the 7th inning or later. Not in a tie game though. That's nuts. With 1 out, I'd consider PH'ing for him. Two outs, no way. That was a stupid move, especially seeing how he only threw 66 pitches. He was real efficient today.
  3. New day, new series, new hope (mainly because I'm starting this thread). Somehow, the Cubs are only 5 out of the division lead after going a dysmal 2-4 on the west coast swing. With three against the Marlins, the Cubs need to right the ship in the worst way possible. Pitching matchup: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/218294.jpg Byung-Hyun Kim: 2-2, 7.02 ERA, 16.2 IP, 11 K's/13 BB's. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/445156.jpg Sean Marshall: 0-1, 2.57 ERA, 7 IP, 8 K's/2 BB's. Let's see plenty of this: http://detectovision.com/pics/lou_83605.jpg None of this: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/art/photogallery/gen/lou/lou_s_chair.jpg NSBB Day at Wrigley so hopefully our members can bring us a win. Also please try to convince Miguel Cabrera to come to the Cubs. Do the same with D-Train. And mods, if WindyCity starts the thread just lock this thread then.
  4. Do ya feel lucky ?? 2-1 overall. I need to spread some good vibes to the Cubs.
  5. Is it ok if I start the game thread for tomorrow in a few minutes if WindyCity isn't here?
  6. A little strong. Did you think the Bulls sucked after they were eliminated by Miami last year? No, but the Lakers seem to have regressed. Injuries played a large role. They were on pace for a much higher seed. No doubt Kobe's path to another Championship would be much easier in the East, though. The first 1/4th of their schedule was also the easiest in the entire NBA where they had something like 2/3's of those games at home. It wasn't that surprising that they fell off, but considering they nearly missed the playoffs completely was a surprise. There's no doubt the injury to Odom slowed them down. But I feel that Odom should easily be more involved in the offense, much more than he currently is, if the Lakers want to win games.
  7. His velocity is actually decreasing. Wow, 81 mph? I know there are a few members on here that can throw faster than that with good control. Time to part ways with him.
  8. Yeah, he spent all of April in Mesa.
  9. A little strong. Did you think the Bulls sucked after they were eliminated by Miami last year? No, but the Lakers seem to have regressed. Bynum hasn't improved at all and all the Lakers consist of (besides Kobe and Odom) are a bunch of role players. I can see why Kobe is upset. That current team is not going to go anywhere besides the first round. Don't forget, they nearly missed the playoffs completely this year as well. And as of right now, I'd rate that the Warriors and Clippers will be better than them in 07-08 (doesn't really mean much right now).
  10. Yeah but Barrett played ultimately the dumbest game I've ever seen a major leaguer play. He deserves to be criticized for his awful game today. But that move to bring in Eyre was equally as dumb.
  11. Ramirez pinch-hitting was the best move. Lou couldn't win there either, because there were several people in the game thread calling him several different names if he didn't PH with Ramirez there. What better situation can you put your biggest hitter on the bench in then bases loaded in the late innings? Ok, I understand that. But why not leave him in the game at 3B after that AB?
  12. Seems like we've had more than one manager who was willing to argue for his team elsewhere, but arrives in Chicago and suddenly becomes a teddy bear. Look at what he did after the game ended. He came out to talk to the ump and after a quick chat, just walked back to the dugout. The slightly younger Lou would've had a fit.
  13. His inability to manage a bullpen is brutal. Wasting Ramirez in the 7th and putting Jones in CF was also a joke. Of course, when the game went to extra innings, that burned us two guys right there and left our bench really short. I'm beginning to see why we're so bad in one-run games.
  14. And there goes Lou just walking away. Pretty sad when you've been outmanaged by Grady Little for 3 straight days.
  15. I learned this when I was nine. You make sure the runner does not advance. Michael Barrett is dumber than a 9 year old.
  16. Barrett is a dumbass. I'm sorry, the guy is just an idiot.
  17. Can anyone in this bullpen throw strikes?
