  1. How did they get screwed? They blew a 2-0 lead. Maybe one of these years, they'll actually live up to their potential and do something when it matters.
  2. I have 1 TV. People vote on what I should watch. Consider Tampa-Boston nominated too. There's still baseball?
  3. Looks like Northwestern's defense decided not to show up today. SIU was up 50-0 at half and cruised to a 60-7 win over Indiana State for our homecoming game. I think Indiana State should really consider removing their football program. They're now 1-45 in their last 46 games. Wow.
  4. Yeah, I really hope no one complains about Illinois not being in the top 25 now. We're not very good this year.
  5. Sounds like Hasselbeck is going to be ruled out for Sunday meaning that Charlie Frye will be the likely starter for the Seahawks. That helps us a little but I still have no confidence in this team.
  6. Certainly not a good one either. Playing against a good team who has already had 2 real games? Against a top 5 goalie in the league? Def. not bad. If it was any goalie other than Lundqvist the Hawks score 5+... they are quick and talented and just have to mold together. I don't think this Toews and Kane separation is going to last too much longer. This game was a good start... if you really expected them to beat the Rangers under the circumstances, you know ZERO about hockey. Seriously? Calm down. All I meant was that it really wasn't a good game. We did a good job of getting even in the 1st, but we had an awful second period. Then we gave up a goal right after we got it back to within one. Way too many defensive breakdowns for my liking tonight. I'm sorry, but I'm going to refuse to call it a 'good game' even though the Rangers are a solid team.
  7. Certainly not a good one either.
  8. I think we should have a new thread, or change the title. The call to arms thing looks so dorky. Agreed.
  9. Not sure about the whole "need" of a jackass, but I'd be fine with that too. However, he's 34,I want nothing more than 2 years. I think someone's dumb enough to offer 3 or more. Two with a mutual option for a third would be perfect.
  10. If you're going after a SS, go after Furcal or Orlando Cabrera. I'll keep saying it until I'm blue in the face about Cabrera. He's the perfect #2 hitter in a lineup, his defense is superb, and he'll be cheaper than Furcal. Plus this team needs a jackass, seriously.
  11. Please don't fall apart, Havlat.
  12. lol at this post. Yes, let's criticize Gordon when he didn't even play tonight. I shudder to think how anemic this offense would be without Gordon this year. I actually read some people on RealGM that were saying PPG were overrated and I know wolf on here said that there's more to playing basketball than just scoring points. Yes that's true, but this is the NBA where really the only thing that truly matters is scoring points. If you get rid of Gordon, who was going to pick up the slack for him? Mr. 35% Kirk Hinrich? Or how about Larry Hughes? Don't forget about Chucker Nocioni. When Gordon was out with the finger/hand injury for a couple of weeks last season, the team couldn't even score over 80 points. Seriously look up the point totals from the games he missed last season. I remember a ton of games where the Bulls struggled to score 70. That's where people should have realized how valuable he really is to this team. He'll never give you the best defense and yes he'll do some dumb things when he has the ball in his hands (which should be limited this year now with Rose). But his offensive totals are superb and he's going to be the major factor as to how far this team will go this year. I will say it until I'm blue in the face. You cannot win with Ben Gordon as your primary scorer/player. This team has flaws on offense, no doubt about it, but I am glad he turned down that lucrative extension because his one dimensional play would cripple this team financially. Probably not but we were only a couple games from reaching the conference finals a year and a half ago. Yeah the Bulls are eventually going to have to add a big-time scorer if they ever want to reach championship-level status. But there's far more things that people should be complaining about on this team than Ben Gordon.
  13. That final score of the Missouri game is a bit misleading and you know it. UI scored a meaningless TD with no time left to bring them back to within 10. And I believe Maclin missed a big portion of the game, too. Was the game a blowout? No. But Mizzou won it fairly handily. C'mon. Don't put me in the lame position of having to defend those clowns. In summary: Donglashings aplenty from the Big 12's top 3 if they played in the Big 10. hardly. illinois was w/o it's best interior lineman and safety and they still missed an easy chance to cut the game to 3 in the final quarter--they just blew it. Yeah but I think Maclin was out for a half.
  14. I'm shocked. LOL. yeah. Why should they? This whole thing has been way overblown. Here is an excerpt from ESPN article on it: Minor incidences like these happen all the time and you don't hear a word. Wade Phillips and a few of the players called out the local media, and now the media is trying to take shots at the Cowboys from any angle they can. It's the Cowboys, have they ever punished a player for getting in trouble?

  16. I'm shocked.
  17. I think we're a 6th place team, at best, in the East. That being said, I am excited for the season to start and I'll be going to BWW after work to watch the 2nd half. At least basketball and hockey are starting so we can erase that week that we had last week.
  18. CC has to be up there too. I'm very interested in moving Lee, especially if that means being able to go after someone like Tex or (to a much lesser extent) Dunn.
  19. I believe so. Yes I'll be listening. I haven't ever listened to a hockey game over the radio in my life, how is it? Is hockey much of a "radio sport"? The Hawks PBP radio guy is one of the better announcers that I've heard. Unfortunately, it's had to be a radio sport in Chicago because of all the games that were on radio only. It's really not that bad to listen to on the radio.
  20. Right there with you, buddy.
  21. Have fun with the win this week mhuber and the other 'Hawk fans on here. This team is too banged up to contend for a win at one of the most hostile environments in the NFL. The Seahawks offense is hurting and our defense is severely hurting, so chances are it's going to be a very ugly game. We should get our points, but we'll give up a ton too. I'll expect something like 31-27 Seahawks. Go Cards. If they beat Dallas, I'm just going to go ahead and order my Fitzgerald jersey right now. My guys!
  22. Saints have now done this twice in the last two weeks. At least there's another team out there that likes giving up games late.
  23. Well, I hope the Rays do it now. Although I'm sure we'll get our typical Red Sox-Dodgers World Series. Baseball is rigged.
  24. Agreed, but don't take Ryan for granted. He was rather good against us yesterday. We're pretty banged up, but he still had a very solid game. That being said, the Bears are much more healthier than the Packers were on defense. We hardly got any pressure on him so he wasn't flustered when he dropped back to pass. I'm fairly certain the Bears will be able to win this game.
  25. Will you be able to listen to the game on WGN's website like you could when the Hawks were on the Score?
