  1. Yeah, Butler's no star by any means, but being able to keep him is pretty important for this year's team. Without him, they'd have a pretty gaping hole on the wings. I don't even think Butler's that great, but the difference between him being your primary wing player over Tony Snell is a pretty big one.
  2. The depth takes a hit, but rotations shrink in the playoffs anyway. To get a legitimate 25-12 guy in the prime of his career for a guy that's probably peaked (Taj), and two relative unknowns seems like a pretty good deal to me. Plus, you would also keep Butler in this scenario. Yes please.
  3. Bonifacio is obviously just going to be showcased the next few weeks, right? I would be willing to say that as soon as Bonifacio is moved, Baez will be called up. Makes sense.
  4. Yeah...I don't quite get that.
  5. That's what I was thinking last night too. Hope it happens.
  6. What? Once you sign a deal isn't your leverage for demanding a trade way down? I assumed they weren't talking this year necessarily Yeah that's kinda how I took it, I think once you sign it has to be a explicit S&T or straight up resign. Once you sign you can't be traded until some point during the next season (want to say sometime in November). I think it's either December 15 or January 15. FWIW, the Isola report is already being refuted by Howard Beck. I still think Melo's going to end up back in NY.
  7. The "Rose is humble" narrative really needs to die.
  8. Really? Criticizing some of the writers is understandable. But Woj?
  9. That's my feeling as well. I really wish Melo would make his decision before [expletive] hits the fan with the Bosh and LBJ angles.
  10. I was just going to ask the same thing. Hope he's not hurt.
  11. Black with 3 walks in 3+ innings.
  12. I'm making the drive for the doubleheader next Saturday. Looking forward to it.
  13. Liking the Cubs Bulls and Packers is unacceptable and stupid. Haven't heard that one before, but what's your point? My point is like teams from the same city, it makes like complete sense. Your agenda does not. I have no idea what my agenda is, but... :good: Anyway, Parsons would be a pretty good fallback option.
  14. Liking the Cubs Bulls and Packers is unacceptable and stupid. Haven't heard that one before, but what's your point?
  15. Yeah -- I thought it was strange that Beeler started the other day over him, especially when Wada was just placed on the 40 man last week too.
  16. What are the negatives for recruiting players to come play with you? There are none. It can't hurt one bit to go out and meet with somebody to say that you should come to this team. His unwillingness (and open unwillingness) to recruit is peculiar, to say the least.
  17. Really good deals.
  18. I'm still not getting my hopes up. I'll never forget the RealGM insider who said that the Tyrus for Amare trade was going to happen...whoops.
  19. I don't understand Orlando's thought process in that deal, but okay.
  20. The dude that broke the news about Sharp being on the trade block was on 670 today. He said that if the Hawks offer Sharp (and maybe a couple of mid-round picks) for Kesler, Vancouver would probably take that deal. I'm all for that. Sharp's obviously a good winger but Kesler solves your biggest deficiency. Plus, you wouldn't have to give up Saad or Teuvo either.
  21. It would feel like any other championship, which is pretty damn good. If that's what sleeping with a bald hooker is like, well, give me more bald hookers.
  22. That is just...unbelievable. It's almost like people in this city forgot how the Bulls won six [expletive] championships in eight years. The best players win. To not want the greatest player in this current generation because you want to build the team "the right way" (the hell does that even mean?) is absurd. Meatball city.
  23. Baez walks again. Three times on base today.
  24. You need more than just LeBron taking less to make that work. if we hear that bosh and wade are opting out, that's bad news. Agree. However, I think it would be to make a run at Lowry rather than Melo. I don't think everyone takes enough of a paycut to fit all 4 in. I can see them all taking smaller pay cuts to free up $10-$12M for Lowry. Or maybe Gortat. But I never though the Big 3 would be formed, so who knows. Either way I'm praying Bosh and/or Wade don't opt out. I'm pretty sure Bosh is going to opt out. Wade's the question mark. Does he give up less to accommodate or does he take the money knowing that he's never going to see a payday like this again?
