  1. The Cardinals jumped up to a 10 win team in that same division last year with Carson Palmer. I'm not saying it would've been likely but if Bradford was actually healthy (and decent), who knows how they would have fared this year?
  2. Team loses starting QB for the year in the third preseason game. It'd be a story no matter what team and what QB. Yeah, not sure what else you would expect. Former Heisman winner, back to back ACL injuries, Rams were a dark horse for a wild card...seems like a newsworthy story to me.
  3. He's been pretty pedestrian ever since the Super Bowl year, but he was finally moved back to nose tackle and he actually looked like a productive player again. Tough loss, especially when the nose tackle/defensive line depth isn't very good. I would agree, did they bring Jolly back? Nope, nor Pickett.

Tough loss, especially when the nose tackle/defensive line depth isn't very good. It's kinda crazy that they can't find a way to protect Rodgers better than they do. As long as the offensive line stays healthy this year, this will easily be the best line Rodgers has had since he's been starting.

  6. He seems to be very under-the-radar for how good he's been this year. During his initial slump with KC, Wayne Randazzo tweeted that he didn't see much there with Baez. Nothing like judging him off like a 20-25 AB sample size.
  7. Completely honest, no, I did not realize that. I guess I have a general idea that Formula One fans aren't rednecks, but that's based on nothing except I think of it as European. I was at the 'Tudor' race at Road America this weekend. The place was packed with rich people driving expensive sports cars. The racing field included Porsche, Audi, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Viper, Corvette, BMW, etc. The series that turned into Tudor was the ALMS which joined with GrandAm (owned by NASCAR). Anyway, the ALMS did demographic studies and the fans were more educated and had higher incomes than the general population. I'm just going to go ahead and keep generalizing if it's okay with you. This sounds like a douche convention. Eh, it's like anything. You can go to a Cubs or Bears or Blackhawks game and have a douche convention on a regular basis. If you like watching cutting edge technology and extremely talented, brave (crazy), drivers fly around the track at high speeds it's a lot of fun. The feeling of 50 cars coming down a straight at 160+ mph with horse power in the tens of thousands is a pretty dam spectacular event. Especially when you're ten feet from the track and can walk and view everything from different vantage points. Road America is like a state park, it's in the middle of a forest. It's a far cry from a bunch of mouth breathers sitting in bleacher seats at Talladega praying to jeebus for a big crash. Road America was a blast. I went there for the Nationwide race in June for the first time and I was quite impressed. The area around the track is pretty cool too.
  8. What? Yeah, because of the horsepower of the cars and because of the track surface being dirt, the throttle works as a way to steer the vehicle. So for the wheel to turn the gas must be being pushed? Like I said, I don't know a whole lot about dirt cars but that's apparently the case.

  10. I'm not big into basketball, but I know basketball fans who are decent folk. Same with soccer. On the other hand, I've never met a racing or MMA fan who weren't terrible.* *also Packers I'm not an MMA fan either -- really, not all racing fans (or Packers fans) are rednecks.
  11. Anyway, I'm not an expert whatsoever on dirt cars but from what I've heard and seen, those cars do require the gas pedal to steer the cars. Based on the guy that just missed clipping Ward Jr in the first place, I think Stewart saw the guy at the last second and tried to steer and miss him. Also, I guess the driver's view is extremely limited in dirt cars as well. Based on that, as well as the poor lighting at the track, I do think it was an accident.
  12. Because hockey is awful and I don't care what you say Sure, that's your opinion and that's fine. There's obviously nothing wrong with that. I don't get why people who don't like racing have to be so adamant about the fact that they don't like racing, and act demeaning towards those that do. There's a difference between people who don't like hockey or lacrosse or soccer and those who don't like racing. There are any number of completely valid reasons to bag on racing as a "sport," and obviously racing fans are easy fodder. Stereotypes, stereotypes, stereotypes...

I don't get why people who don't like racing have to be so adamant about the fact that they don't like racing, and act demeaning towards those that do. So you are taking the this is a sport please like my sport side? I'm not at all -- you can like and dislike whatever you want. I just don't quite understand why people have to [expletive] all over those who like racing, for having a different interest than they do.

  15. Please like my sport. Please hate sports I don't like. This is a sport. This isn't a sport. These discussions are the worst. Who gives a [expletive] about what people like and don't like?
  16. I mean, unless Javy has a 10 WAR in two months, his call-up isn't going to affect a top 10 pick anyway.
  17. The result of this poll is pretty awesome, at least.
  18. I think you're the first person that I've heard of or seen that has admitted to listening to that show. I'm not quite sure who's worse between the two of them.
  19. Unfortunately? The fact that the NL hasn't already done it is a joke. You know the old timers are going to stick to their traditionalist views on that subject. The DH in the NL is coming sooner rather than later anyway.
  20. Shawn Marion would probably be the best bet for that.
  21. Could they still do a trade now with a PTBNL, with the understanding it's Wiggins? They can agree to a deal in principal and just wait the 30 days, kind of like the beginning of free agency when players can agree to deals immediately. They just don't make it official until July 10th or whatever date that is. I don't think the 30 day thing is really that big of a deal.
  22. What a douche!
  23. Another BB for Javy. Bases loaded for KB.
  24. That's what Laurence Holmes called him last week too. Bad.
