  1. Randy Johnson is better than Jason Hammel, but otherwise you're right. isn't randy johnson done for the season? I knew he was hurt, but didn't think he was done for the year. He may well be and I just didn't know, though. He had/has a torn rotator cuff but he thinks he can come back for the final 3-4 weeks of the season.
  2. That's how I look at it too. Plus from the bit I saw last night, he didn't look all that bad. He's been real effective as a starter when he's been at Iowa this year, so why not? Like Raisin said, he's better than the other options.
  3. Am I the only one that isn't against this?
  4. It didn't sound like it was anything serious, but I was pretty nervous when I saw him hanging his head in the dugout and putting his towel over his head in disappointment. I'm sure we'll have a better idea of the injury tomorrow.
  5. Typical. I'm hoping we can just salvage a split here.
  6. No, Thome won't be back. I bet they re-sign Dye as the DH next year.
  7. If it's anything like his last few "reports," be prepared to learn absolutely nothing new.
  8. Yeah sure. Nice bluff. And if does go through with it, I hope the NFL owners collude against his entitled ass and don't draft him at all next year. Wasn't it you that was in love with Crabtree, or am I thinking of someone else? I was big on Crabtree.
  9. hahahahahahaha. Good luck. Packers continue to express interest in Vick. Vick >>>>> Brohm/Flynn, so sign me up.
  10. The Murderers Row thing was said at GRB. Oh I know. Plus I have quite a few friends that are Cardinal fans that said they'd be Murderer's Row 2.0. In their defense, they have played the Dodgers and Phillies for seven of those games. But they really struggled at the end of that Dodgers series and especially against the Astros, who we obliterated over the course of that four game series. Make no mistake that they have a good offense, but best in the league? We'll see about that.
  11. How much were they? I'm thinking about going to that game as well. I'm pretty sure I'll be going to Cincy on Black Friday to see that matchup (which should be a great one).
  12. There's no doubt Wood will clear waivers but would Cleveland eat a portion of that contract?
  13. Murderer's Row, eh? Since the Cards have acquired Holliday, this is how many runs they've scored in each of their games: 8, 6, 2, 6, 10, 3 (15 innings), 3 (10 innings), 4, 3, 0, 12 (10 innings), 0. By comparison, let's look at what the Cubs have done since July 24: 8, 5, 5, 5 (13 innings), 6, 12, 12, 2, 9 (10 innings), 2, 4, 6. I'm not a math major but even I can figure out that the Cards have averaged 4.5 runs/game since they have acquired Holliday while the Cubs have averaged 6.3 runs per game in that span. The Cards have been shut out twice in that span and they've had some issues offensively over the past week or so besides last night. As Denny Green would say, don't go about crowning the Cardinals ass just yet.
  14. Disney on Ice Well that's ridiculous. We've had that ever since I can remember.
  15. It's worth a shot, at least.
  16. Oh and my bad again about Alex Gonzalez.
  17. All right, even I'm sick of Marmol now. His release point is jacked up to [expletive].
  18. He got away with two hanging sliders there.
  19. Grabow was double switched into the game, threw 3 pitches and got two outs. Then you take him out to start the 9th? Why?
  20. I just had to open my mouth and say Alex Gonzalez was similar to the pitcher's spot. My fault.
