  1. Clock malfunction.
  2. So NMSU gets screwed.
  3. Nothing like getting all of the 7-10 and 8-9 games right, but going winless in the 6-11 games.
  4. New Mexico St. has some sort of ridiculous record when the game is decided by six points or less. MSU's in some trouble.
  5. A Vermont upset over Syracuse would be made all the more epic by Gus Johnson calling it...again! That would be quite sensational.
  6. Heh, funny that everyone else knows our goaltending sucks except our front brass. That's always comforting. But yeah, no doubt that's a comment that is in poor taste.
  7. Same here. The Big East is a joke.
  8. Pitt and Nova did the same thing last year, and they turned out ok.
  9. maybe you should stop putting mediocre teams in your Final Four. Well that'd make way too much sense, wouldn't it?
  10. Looking like a typical first day for me. I'm 7-1 right now, but I lost a FF team in Notre Dame (I'm an idiot) and now it looks like I'll lose an Elite Eight team. This crap happens every year. Last year, I lost Wake and Clemson in the first day when I had them both going to the Final Four and Elite Eight.
  11. I didn't even know the Bulls were playing last night. The Blackhawks definitely still have my interest and they'll continue to have my interest for the rest of the season, although I know that they're flawed.
  12. Whatever. The season ended when we didn't get a meaningful net-minder. I'm pissed but I shouldn't be.
  13. We still had four guys in front of the net there, and they still score. Go [expletive] figure. Of course that was a penalty, but they still shouldn't have scored. Must be nice to have a goalie stand on his head. I wish we knew what that was like.
  14. Greg Marshall would be an outstanding hire for Iowa. Guy can coach.
  15. Please steal Chris Lowery from us.
  16. The lack of depth is going to catch up to them sooner rather than later.
  17. No offense to the Packers fans on this site, but damn that new uni is uglier then the Bears orange jersey. That jersey belongs in a Dodgeball tournament, not on one of the historic franchises in all of sports. I'm not a huge fan of it either. Too Notre Dame-ish for my tastes.
  18. I think Seabrook and Keith have taken a big step back. Keith not as big, but his turnovers in our zone are very visible mistakes. Seabrook has looked pretty bad as the year has gone on. Honestly with their regressions, Campbells injury and the presence of Sopel in general, I'm wondering if defensemen, not goaltending, is the biggest weakness on this team. you guys give up like 4 shots a game. defense ain't your problem. It is when 3 of them go in. We generally do a good job of limiting shots, and that's been our philosophy all year. But theres more to defense than just limiting shots. We've done a horrible job clearing the puck out of our zone lately, and just limiting turnovers in the zone in general. Yes sometimes a team just executes properly, or a good player will go 1 on 1 with our guys and make a good move and shot. But when you turn over the puck on offense while trying to clear, you are greatly increasing the odds of a high percentage shot on goal. Think of it like a pitching staff with a low WHIP. That's a very good indicator that the pitching is good, but it's not the sole factor for evaluating pitchers. This is a rare case, but if a pitcher has a 1.10 WHIP, but gives up 45 home runs in the year and has a 4.50+ era, he's obviously not as strong of a pitcher as his WHIP suggests. At least that's how I look at it. That's a much better job of illustrating my point.
  19. His contract absolutely blows. His play last year was very pedestrian. But his play this season has been very good. I think he's been our second best defenseman all season long. He's definitely not worthy of the contract that he received but I really don't see how we can really overcome his departure. The front line defense is fine and Hjalmarsson is good too. After that, your depth really gets tested and watered down with the loss of Campbell.
  20. Siena in the Sweet 16, Butler in the EE, and Notre Dame in the Final Four. I'm strongly considering Minnesota in the Sweet 16 too. I'm not sold on Pittsburgh at all.
  21. The defense overall is a solid group, but they make some real inexplicable mistakes in their own end which obviously leads to great scoring chances for the opponent. The shots on goal are miniscule, but the defense almost has to play picture-perfect to make up for that one giant deficiency we have. The loss of Campbell is crushing. I'm not very confident in seeing Sopel and Hendry out there for extended periods of time.
  22. Here's my prelimary bracket: Final 4 - Kansas, Kansas St, Kentucky, Notre Dame Elite 8 - Kansas, Georgetown, Butler, K-State, Kentucky, West Virginia, Duke, Notre Dame Upsets: 9 over 8 - UNI over UNLV, Wake over Texas, Louisville over Cal 10 over 7 - Georgia Tech over Oklahoma St, Missouri over Clemson, St. Mary's over Richmond 11 over 6 - San Diego State over Tennessee, Minnesota over Xavier 12 over 5 - Utah St over Texas A&M 13 over 4 - Murray State over Vandy, Siena over Purdue I have Syracuse losing to Gonzaga in the second round. This is definitely all subject-to-change before Thursday morning.
  23. Murray over Vandy is my biggest upset in the first round. I also have Utah State downing A&M. I'm having a tough time with everything outside of the first weekend though because my bracket is really chalky as it currently stands. I don't like that.
  24. Can we just fast forward to November right now?
  25. They need to be a lock next year. There are absolutely no excuses for next season.
