  3. Hate him all you want, but KG has always been about as unselfish a superstar as possible. Same with Ray Allen. The only guy that was questioned was Pierce heading into that marriage and it's clear those two guys benefitted him just as much as he helped them. I don't see that with Miami. Like you said, Bosh has looked out of place. More importantly, Bosh looks like he doesn't care. He got what he want. He landed his big payday in South Beach and gets to hang out with his buds, while they're the ones that have to deal with the pressure. LeBron ran away from a situation in Cleveland because he couldn't do it himself. Wade's the only one out of the three that truly gives a damn about that team. Like it or not, the label is going to get stronger and stronger that LeBron is a loser unless he proves everybody wrong by winning something. You're absolutely right that the Celtics team was built better than the Heat. They had an inside presence to work with, as well as great wing players, and a point guard that wasn't going to be detrimental to their success. There are quite a few weak spots on this Heat squad that won't be solved this season.
  4. Joel Anthony will never be Perkins and Arroyo ain't Rondo. That I'm certain of. But I agree with what you're saying. They'll be fine and they'll add better secondary pieces moving forward. The MLE and draft will be big for them. Draft? Didn't they trade all their picks for the forseeable future?

  6. It's not because hockey is such a crapshoot. It definitely wasn't a big deal last season, especially in the East. The Hawks just need to get in and they'll have a shot.
  7. I remember laughing at everyone who said they wouldn't part with Noah in a S&T for Bosh. Whoops.
  8. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to that. Sure seems like the team is growing much more comfortable with each other with every passing day.
  9. Rose and Deng looked fantastic.
  10. I'll say. Keep it up, C's.
  11. I'm just hopeful that SIU can keep it within 15 on Saturday night. I can't believe we're paying a coach $750,000 to be ranked 9th out of 10 teams in the preseason conference poll. I think I miss a good SIU team more than anything else in sports right now. That and a championship contending Bulls team.
  12. Thankfully, Harris went to an AFC team that I have no ill feelings towards. Hopefully he helps us out next Thursday night when they play the Bears. Any guesses as to who those six players were that said that stuff about Chilly? I'd guess Allen, Shiancoe, Harvin, and Hutchinson for sure. Maybe Longwell too since he was the one that leaked the Favre story a few weeks ago.
  13. Iowa is really stupidly doing the same thing with Northwestern, a team that has pretty much owned us this decade After the Indiana game, I doubt they're overlooking NU.
  14. What would be the point of that?
  15. I'm sorry...I can't give him up in addition to everything else for Melo. Well, the other thing is -- Denver's the team in distress over this thing. They're the ones with the player who wants out. Because of this, they're going to have to meet someone more than half way to unload him. In short, they either deal with continued fallout or start dealing to get rid of him. It's really their problem. We shouldn't cut them any slack. Hopefully they feel pressured to trade him at the deadline, and we can net him for a package like Deng, Taj, and multiple draft picks. Like you said, they're the ones that are going to be under pressure to make a move. What are the realistic odds of him re-signing with Denver? 15% or so at the high end? I would think by the deadline that they'd have a better understanding of what exactly he's going to do in the offseason and a trade is certainly better than coming away with nothing for him. Good win last night. Today's practice should be nothing but FT shooting drills, though.
  16. Hey, SIU actually beat Indianapolis on Saturday. We also beat Quincy, who in turn beat Bradley after we played them. Toughest exhibition schedule in the country!
  17. Originally, I said I'd be rooting for Minnesota on Sunday but now I'm indifferent. If Minnesota wins that game, they suddenly have a burst of confidence and you know they'll be up to play us the following week. Meanwhile, the Bears hit the toughest part of their schedule after the game on Sunday. It'd be nice to be two games up on both Minnesota and Chicago, but I think Minnesota's season is going to basically hinge on what happens in Chicago this weekend. All that being said, go Ravens and Cowboys (lol).
  18. Seahawks, yeah. I'm not sure about Tampa Bay. With their remaining schedule, I definitely think they could sneak into the playoffs.
  19. Even so Auburn has to lose twice for LSU to make the SEC title game. Without that I don't think they have enough to leap in front of TCU. Although that could be the final piece to destroy the BCS. I think the final piece to destroy the BCS would more likely be a Boise St/TCU Championship game and not a team from one of the power conferences jumping them to be in the Championship game And then as of TCU or Boise State wins the game, a 1 loss Wisconsin team wins the Rose Bowl and the AP selects them as their National Champ. That would be beyond awesome. But seriously, what if BSU-TCU were the only two undefeateds left? Would they actually abide a one-loss team jumping one of the two undefeateds for the title game? I think that would truly spell the end of the BCS. And it would suck a lot more than scenario one. I think a 1 loss SEC school would make it in over an undefeated TCU or Boise State.
  20. That sounds about right.
  21. haha. I'm not sure what's worse up to this point -- Minnesota and Dallas at 3 and 4 or Tampa Bay and STL at 30 and 32. Neither Tampa or STL is good. Tampa has beaten some crappy teams and lost to everybody that posed a threat, plus they've been outscored by a wide margin. They could both easily finish in the bottom 10 of the league, while Dallas and Minnesota have no chance of being a top 10 team. STL plays in a crap division and their AFC division opponents are also the weakest. Tampa very easily could've won on the road against Atlanta yesterday. I don't think they're that bad.
  22. Only 1 non-BCS team ranked 12 of higher is guaranteed, which would of course be TCU. Does that apply for the title game? If TCU were to make the title game, would one of the BCS bowls have to pick Boise State because of that rule?
  23. haha. I'm not sure what's worse up to this point -- Minnesota and Dallas at 3 and 4 or Tampa Bay and STL at 30 and 32.
  24. Maybe the Bears can do that this week. I'd prefer we do it to Minnesota too.
  25. Huh? http://espn.go.com/college-football/bowls/projections?season=2010&week=10 One has them in the Rose Bowl, the other in the Sugar Bowl. I'll see if I can find it. There was one that had Oklahoma State in a BCS game instead of Boise State last night.
