  1. Except for Anthony Davis, who 5 posts up was called the league MVP.
  2. Rapper E-40 was front row behind homeplate last night. He's from Oakland, but apparantly is a SF Giants fan, but he got front row tickets in KC. That may be the most gangsta moment in rap history.
  3. He has a real shot at it. I'd probably put him in the top 5 candidates easily, maybe top 3 after Paul and LeBron.
  4. Leonard Williams or Randy Gregory... easiest decision ever for Phil Emery Leonard Williams is the better player to me. Maybe much better. No need to re-sign Paea if that happens.
  5. Yes, very much so. Yep. If you're going to look at mock draft on that site, just use Charlie's. He's still not great or anything, but a LOT better than Walt and better analysis on each picks. Walter did update his mock today and he went 9: Landon Collins (he has Thompson in the 1st now although it's at 31) 41: Owamagbe Odighizuwa (Perryman went next pick and McKinney at 55) 73: Quandre Diggs Oh man, he has the Bears drafting Odighizuwa with Shawn Oakman available. Cody Prewitt was also available but he wouldn't make sense with Collins in the first round... Can you imagine the speed added to this defense with Shaq Thompson and Cody Prewitt? That's exactly what I am hoping for.
  6. We don't have a 5th though. And Barron would need to be in a better scheme to succeed.
  7. West 1. LA Clippers 2. San Antonio 3. OKC 4. Golden State 5. Houston 6. Portland 7. Dallas 8. Pelicans East 1. Bulls 2. Cleveland 3. Charlotte 4. Toronto 5. Washington 6. Miami 7. Atlanta 8. NY Knicks WCF: OKC over Clippers ECF: Cavs over Bulls Cavs over OKC for title. Parker = ROY Paul = MVP
  8. So, you want him to do what no GM in professional sports has ever done and throw his coaches, players and self under the bus for your amusement? Good luck with that.
  9. So, I'm having a fun exchange with former ND and NFL QB, Steve Buerelein. LOL. I never do this, but I'm completely going in on him on Twitter. CBS Sports posted an article of him saying basically, Cutler is the highest paid player in the league and needs to start stepping up to the challenge. I replied, "if anyone knows about stepping up, it's Steve Beurelein see: 1985 Orange Bowl". His response, "Good comparison. Big difference between highest paid player in the NFL and a college kid playing hurt for Coach Faust". My response, "agreed. Cutler should have covered Gronk, forced teams to punt more than once in the last 4 losses, and taken less money to do so." Then I went on about how he got called "soft" for leaving a playoff game with an MCL injury that keeps people out 4 weeks, an injury which happened the same year he got sacked 9 times in 1 half of football. And that now, he's getting dogged because he can't will the defense to stop people. He says, "Cutler can only worry about what he can control, but somebody in that lockeroom needs to step up" My last response, "how do you step up down 45-7? Lead 2 2nd half TD drives? Done. Then I told him to stop talking about a lockeroom he's never been in and pointed out leadership isn't why the team is 3-5.
  10. He was drafted in 2012, three whole drafts ago. That slot doesn't mean much of anything anymore. Oh my bad. I thought it was 2013. Point still stands, that's what I'd be willing to give up for him.
  11. Trade deadline is today. I'd imagine Barron would cost a 2nd round pick. He was just drafted top 10 last year. I'll pass unless they take a 2016 4th or some [expletive].
  12. The roster has enough talent. But I agree with the need for speed.
  13. I agree 100% with what you are saying Goony. And the credibility thing is a real issue with firing Tucker, but I still say F it and fire him anyway. Obviously, it doesn't matter because they aren't going to do it. Maybe Pasqualoni calls a more aggressive game? If a team is going to give up 51 points, you might as well give up 51 points on six 80-yard TDs. If you aren't getting pressure and your DBs can't cover. Blitz! Your defenders still can't cover, but at least the QB doesn't have all day to pick which wide open receiver he wants to throw to. When you blitz you can also jump routes because you don't have to worry about the slow developing stuff that the offense doesn't have time to run. Also, maybe firing Tucker lets everyone know to be on edge and that they are playing for their jobs. I'm sure they already know that, but this would show them that status quo is not going to be OK. Bench a couple vets. Make some changes on offense too if needed. Special teams.
  14. Probably a busy week on the waiver wire with these teams on a bye. By my count there are 10 players probably drafted in the top 25 picks in most leagues off this week. Another handful are probably starting for over 60% of the league. Both my money leagues I'm without my top 2 picks this week. Luckily everyone else has good players out too. So, anybody got some deep TE sleepers that I can pick up for 1 week. Right now, I'm looking at Mychal Rivera or Jace Amaro. Thoughts on who to put in a waiver claim for? As for WR claim? I'm looking at: Mike Evans @ Clev Bowe v. Jets R Cooper @ Hou LaFell vs Denver Allen Robinson @ Cin John Brown v Dallas
  15. I verbally stomped a mudhole in this dude on Facebook. He tried to blame Sunday on Cutler, saying the Bears don't need a big armed QB, they just need a game manager. I pointed out that the defense allowed points on every single drive for the 2nd time in 5 games, and for the 4th time only forced 1 or fewer punts. Then asked him the last time a game manager won a ring (2000 Dilfer) and proceeded to point out how stupid it was to try to create a team from 15 years ago that had one of the top 3 defenses of all time when the Bears have one of the worst 3 defenses on Earth right now.
  16. I'll settle for arm staying attached without surgery, pretty much for all pitchers at this point.
  17. Eh, prior to Rodgers tweaking his hamstring, the Packers were going to take the lead midway through the third quarter. Obviously the defense was awful, and the offense struggled in the red zone, but the Packers looked far worse against Seattle and Detroit this year than they did for the better part of last night. Teams would be smart to just run the [expletive] out of the ball against the Packers. There's no legitimate nose tackle on the roster since Raji's been out and the inside linebackers are beyond terrible. I know Brees lit up the secondary last night, but Shields and Burnett were both out last night and both of them should be back after the bye week. Yeah, their secondary is solid with the potential to be really good when healthy. Clinton-Dix looks pretty good the last month or so. The defense was worse than the Bears D was yesterday, and that's saying something. The redzone stuff was more playcalling, but still not a good showing for the Pack. Not that it matters for this game.
  18. I actually spent 20 minutes this morning trying to figure out if the Bears had any shot of making the playoffs at 9-7 (requiring a 6-2 finish). The answer is probably not, but we do have 2 feathers in our cap: 1) Hold the tiebreaker over San Francisco 2) Only 2 conference losses Basically the teams fighting for the 2 WC spots are East loser (between 6-1 Dallas and 5-2 Philly), North loser (between 6-2 Detroit and 5-3 GB), and West losers (Between 7-1 Arizona, 4-3 Seattle and 4-3 San Francisco) The only way I see a shot is if 1) Detroit has their annual second half collapse and is swept by Chicago, 2) San Francisco's year from hell continues and they finish 9-7, 3) Dallas comes back to earth starting tonight and loses to Chicago head to head 9 wins isn't making the playoffs in the NFC. Hell, 10 wins might not this year. I think Philly is the most likely team to collapse of the top teams right now. Foles has been pretty shaky all year. Run game inconsistent. They've scored a bunch of defensive TDs. I also wouldn't count on Detroit fading. 6-2 and they get Calvin back after the bye. Granted, they've been fortunate to have teams flat out collapse for them. But as of right now, the Bears are going to probably have to sweep them. I wouldn't be surprised if 1 9-win team gets in. Still a lot of football left.
  19. Gotta remember, the Bears have a former NFL DC among the assistants in Paul Pasqualoni.
  20. Are you really basing this off a PFF score? He was fine yesterday. The throws over 20 yards were the Hail Mary, at least 2 non-called DPIs, 1 throw away, and the great Bennett catch, which actually was called DPI too. Oh Hell no, but the fumble was all on him and he again he didn't look that great. He is getting paid like a top QB, he needs to cut down on the turnovers and make better decisions. "Fine" isn't going to get the Bears in the playoff hunt this year or next. He needs to take the next step with his turnovers and get that fixed. Once that is done I think he has a chance to be great and in turn the Bears will be great. The fumble was stupid. There was no reason for him to drop that ball. He has a couple of those this year, but I don't think that particular fumble happens in a close game. And I agree that "fine" isn't good enough in most cases, but if games like yesterday make you hate the contract, you were going to hate it regardless. His team was down big before he really had a chance.
  21. Wouldn't really make much sense, or difference, to do that mid-season. I don't agree. It MIGHT not make a difference, but it very well could. Just a different voice leading the defense, calling the plays/schemes. It couldn't hurt if that's going to be the end result anyway.
  22. Are you really basing this off a PFF score? He was fine yesterday. The throws over 20 yards were the Hail Mary, at least 2 non-called DPIs, 1 throw away, and the great Bennett catch, which actually was called DPI too.
  23. Not to sound like a Cutler apologist, but really that Hail Mary counts against him? The fumble should count against him, but that play wasn't as much a ball security issue with Cutler as it was an "IDGAF" play by Cutler. He obviously could have held onto the ball if he wanted to but figured down 31-7, what's the worse that could happen.
  24. It's about as likely as any other scenario. Could see all those things happening. Those things happening only requires 1 road team to win (AU @ Ole Miss).
