    :D And I still have Oswalt & Halladay later in the week. Look on the bright side, my offense is slumping. Well, other than Albert who is just a deity. That's the best part of my week too. I got 3 QS, but have the best pitcher in baseball and a guy coming off a CG shutout still yet to go.

    Well, after the 6th, I quit watching completely and did some laundry. I tuned back in to start the bottom of the 8th. Last time I did that.....Michael Barrett won the game with a grand slam. I'm not sayin'.....I'm just sayin'.

    I got 3 QS last night, but only 1 win. Derek Lowe was great, but didn't get any offense until Lidge blew the game, thus no win. Davies got no offense, and was probably left in an inning too long and gave up his 2nd and 3rd runs, and took the loss. 46 from 3 pitchers ain't bad though.

    Ground balls are a very good thing. If you are a strikeout pitcher (which Gallagher is better than average) when you don't have your out pitch you better be able to keep the ball on the ground. Carlos Zambrano seems to be the opposite. When he isn't getting a lot of GBs, his strikeouts tend to increase.....ala last night.

    Sprowl was originally drafted by the Cubs in the 47th round in 1998. He was released then had a big year for my then hometown, South Bend Silverhawks. Like has been mentioned, he walks almost exclusively and never strikes out. I really don't know why he hasn't moved up to AA in his 7-year career. He's not horrible defensively, is 26, and can take a walk. I would think some team would have him at AAA and have him right outside the 40-man roster in case a couple catchers went down.

    I hate when the Cubs MWL affiliate plays Dayton. I always read Daytona the first time and think interleague, intersquad game.

    I'd say the impression I'm getting is similar to Barrett. Not as athletic as Barrett, but probably anywhere from average to slightly below average defensively. It's not at the point where his defense will hold him back at all. He would be a solid backup catcher, maybe as soon as 2007.

    Let's just hope Tim doesn't throw out his (first) pitching shoulder patting himself on the back after Fox's start.

    3 combined starts going the next 2 games......Zambrano needed to go deep in this one. Completely disheartning.
