  1. Fast forward the same situation 5 innings. Why does one run later mean more than one run now? A run is a run; I'll take one in whatever inning I can get it in. Do you know that there's a better chance of a runner scoring from first with none out than it is for a runner to score from 2nd with 1 out? At the time of the bunt, the Cubs had 18 outs to score 1 run. In the 9th, which was 5 innings later....the Cubs would be down to their last chance to score in order to win it in 9 innings.

  3. 5-hitter bunting! I know Barrett hasn't done much recently, but if you want him bunting hit him 8th.
  4. I don't think Lovie was ever a fan of Green... Neither was I. But strangely, you don't have input on Bears personnel decisions... :) That's what you think! Who you think was responsible for Curtis Enis?
  5. hehe I'm slow. Sho 'nuff. I'm still the BADDEST!!!!!!
  6. Rolling Stones lose simply because of they are gross looking.
  7. I'd hope the Bears would go for a speed back/ pass receiver. I'd go after a guy like Addai or Maroney, rather than a player that would be similar to Benson and Peterson for that matter.
  8. I don't think Lovie was ever a fan of Green... Neither was I.
  9. Why is he unable to do that in the majors? who says he can't? he had more good innings than bad when he was up last year. Consistancy is the issue I guess. and sample size. And more negroes. HUH? LOL
  10. i was wondering if that was going to happen...i saw that it was raining pretty good when i got out of class. 98 pitches for hill...wonder if he was going to go back out for the 7th. even with some control issues in the 6th, still a great day for him. it'll be interesting to see what happens should marshall struggle tonight. What you got against Marshall? He's pitched decently. Just without the stamina. I don't see him going down until Wood gets back, unless he gets shelled twice in a row.
  11. Might be able to DH Clark a few games after Lee gets back. But he's already a bench player. I don't know why letting him start for 2 months and putting him back on the bench where he agreed to play this year for Arizona is not having use for him.
  12. That looked like a rough inning for Rich all around.
  13. Doesn't make any sense for Hill not to be part of the ML Cubs at this point. How he didn't get the nod over Guzman (pushed 1 day back instead of 3), I'll never know.
  14. Bye Barzilla and Jimerson. K's the side.
  15. Why just a backup? His bat shows more promise than that. Or do you mean a backup to Barrett until his contract is up...then becoming a starter? The latter. I think he will eventually become a starting catcher in the majors.
  16. Hill 4 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 Ks. The 2 hits are the only balls to leave the IF.
  17. Fuld started slow last year, then tore it up the rest of the summer. Looks like he's doing the same this year....only his slow start was shorter than last years. I like it! Fuld is one of those guys that can just play. He doesn't grade high with tools, but he's a good baseball player. Hopefully, lack of size and projectability don't keep him from a major league career.
  18. Strange stat. Buck Coats is 16-35 with the bases empty (.457), and 4-25 with runners on (.160). And there's a bases empty walk.
  19. Lix with a single. 10-23 vs. LHPs.
  20. Houston's AAA team is now bunting to save themselves a K. Strikeout and 2 bunt outs in the 3rd.
  21. Walker has hit Willis before. I think he stays in. Jones probably earned another start with his HR. Tomorrow, I think you may see Restovich in there in RF.
  22. Pie grounds a 3-1 pitch to the SS, but reaches on a throwing error. FYI, Felix is 9-22 this year with his HR and 10 of his 16 RBIs vs. LHPs.
