  1. I love Representin' the U. Portis, Wayne, Gore. My team is basically all sleepers, so far. Can Palmer come back from major knee surgery to come close to repeating his 2005, in which, he was the top player in our league? Can Ronnie Brown handle a full load for the first time in 5 years? Can Frank Gore stay healthy and win the starting RB position and be a factor in a weak offense? Can Reggie Bush get the bulk of the touches in NOLA? Can Reggie Wayne get his 3 YPC and 7 TDs back that he lost in 05? Can Reggie Brown be the #1 WR in an Eagles offense that passes 67% of the time?
  2. Urlacher was the best defensive player in the NFL last season.....yet he's overrated?
  3. Raw Dawgs select RB- Frank Gore- San Francisco and WR- Reggie Brown- Philadelphia
  4. Dontrelle Wellemeyer Nolasco Farnsworth and last but not least..... JULIO ZULETA
  5. Yeah, I know a lot of us were disappointed in the draft, but really the key was keeping everyone together. The Bears are young enough to actually get better. However, I do worry about Hillenbrand, Vasher, and the DEs repeating their seasons from last year. just chuckling at Hllenbrand. I know what you meant. I actually thought the DEs had a bit of a down season, as did Tommie Harris. Vash, I'm confident he'll repeat, and the entire offseason was dedicated to depth at the position it seems. Heh. I didn't even catch that. Hillenmeyer. I agree the DEs had a down year, but they did have a handful of big games each. Their lack of consistency makes me worry that they may have more down days than up. I don't agree on Harris, though. Tommie had one of the top 3 years for any DT in the game. He had an excellent season.
  6. Pro-Bowl SS. Nickelback. Starting QB. All WRs but Muhammad. OLine injuries here and there. The Bears were pretty healthy last year, but it's not like they were invincible. Mike Brown and Azumah were huge losses. Grossman isn't great, but he is miles better than Orton. Bradley and Berrian never played at the same time.

  8. I wouldn't be surprised if Hendry did not move Pierre. I think he will be looking for similar to what he gave up to get him. If nobody offers that, Jim has already said he's willing to take draft picks for Pierre.
  9. So, 4 is enough? Not when you have .650-.750 OPS at SS, 2B, CF, and LF. Also, you're expecting a lot out of Ramirez who's at sub .900 this year, Barrett who's having a career year, and Jones who's career history point to anything but a lock for a .900 OPS...even with a platoon. And I hate the Yankees argument. The Cubs have a very comparable market and payroll to the Mets, Dodgers, Angels, White Sox, and Cardinals and can't even compete with them offensively.
  10. That was quite an inning for the Cubs. WOW!
  11. Yep, #10 pick. C'mon Commish!
  12. The Cubs are in trouble if Dusty is making lineup decisions while unemployed.
  13. I understand that teams are sometimes reluctant to trade within the division. But Ryan Freel has to be able to be had. In the 4 games since the stupid Reds trade, Freel has not started once. He hasn't started more than 6 games in a row since April. And his 2nd longest streak of consecutive starts is 3 since then. The Reds have started the likes of Juan Castro, Brandon Phillips, Rich Aurilla, Dwayne Wise of the 300 career ABs at age 28. I guess he does have some sort of minor injury, but has pinch hit everyday. Cincy raves about Freel's versatility, but the fact remains, the Reds have never given a guy with a career .372 OBP a chance to play everyday. In what is a career-year so far, Freel has still only started more than 3 games in a row 1 time in the last 2 1/2 months.
  14. If the Cubs aren't gonna get a big name, there are definitely some sleepers out there that could be cheap and productive. I'd love to add Meche, Javy Valentin, DeRosa, Craig Wilson, even Dellucci and Jeff Weaver if the Cubs got the inexpensive route. The only players they list in the top 25, who is worth his projected contract, are probably Julio Lugo and if their healthy, Cliff Floyd and Gary Sheffield. Also, if Kerry Wood signs a 1-year deal for $4M with incentives to $8M....it will be with the Cubs. Someone will likely offer multiple years, though.
  15. And Freel is still not in the lineup.
  16. Ced Benson. Interesting pick. He will get many more carries this year. But will he unseat TJ?
  17. I just figured something out. The GMs have a real life fantasy league, where all proposals are made online. The Reds accidently hit "ACCEPT" instead of "DECLINE", and nobody vetoed the trade in time. Of course, that theory could mean Jim Hendry doesn't know how to use a computer.
  18. And no, I'm not Hoops' source.....or am I? From the Abreau's availability thread that I don't feel like linking. It makes perfect sense. Gives Philly a young 3B and C with potential and at a very cheap price to go along with a nice young nucleus. They are both ML ready and Philly could field and entire offensive team with Jimmy Rollins as the "old man". Angels probably wouldn't mind losing McPherson and Mathis because they have Figgins and Napoli who are young and good in their places.
  19. Wow. The league's best SS of 2005 and the league's 5th best RF in the NL this year for bullpen help? Who trades 1/4 of their starting position players for relief?
  20. This isn't a real trade. C'mon. The Reds are in a pennant race. If they actually did this deal, they need to be contracted.
  21. Your thoughts on Bush and Addai were the same as mine. Droughns is an interesting guy. He's going to get yardage and if he gets the scores, he'll be good. I looked at him at the times I made both my Dillon and McAllister picks. I'm taking a huge risk with those two, but I like to have a stable of RB's. I'll see how it works out. Droughns was the top rated guy consistently in the mocks that I saw for the RBs that were available. I was worried about his long-term prognosis and Cleveland's offense (or lack thereof). But I debated between him, Dunn, and Bush. I went with Bush because of the keeper league factor.
  22. I think I screwed up a bit. I was debating between keeping Chad Johnson and Ronnie Brown. I should have kept both and took my chances on Palmer being there at #10. In hindsight, he had a better chance than lasting than the other 2.
  23. Anybody want to trade? This is a nice looking draft so far. Everybody making quality picks. I especially like the Tatum Bell and Joseph Addai picks. I would have picked Bell if he lasted 1 more pick. I think he will beat out Dayne pretty easily. He reminds me of Clinton Portis. I gambled a little with Reggie Bush, but hopefully, he gets used like Ronnie Brown last year. Get about 50-60% of the carries, and hopefully NO lets him return some kickoffs.
  24. Everybody on this freakin' board does this, so I'm not calling anyone in particular out.....BUT IT'S THAN....WHEN YOU ARE MAKING A COMPARISON.....IT'S THAN. LESS THAN....GREATER THAN.....BETTER THAN. IT'S NOT THEN! IT'S PRETTY SIMPLE ENGLISH, PEOPLE!
