  1. Still can't run, I see. Getting to the point of concern.
  2. STOPPED! I hate that I have Dallas v. Jacksonville.
  3. Don't doubt, Sexy Rexy! Bloomington, IN is in the house!
  4. I would like to see Fredi Gonzalez in the manage. FA's I would like the Cubs to go after: Schmidt, Soriano, Loretta, Bradley, Byrnes, Lofton, Padilla, Meche. Trade targets: JD Drew, Burrell I'd like a realistic combo of 1 of the higher paid guys, and 2 of the lower scale players. a) Schmidt, Loretta, Byrnes b) Soriano, Padilla/Meche, Lofton c) Drew, Loretta, Padilla/Meche d) Burrell, Loretta, Padilla/Meche I don't have much interest in Zito or Carlos Lee, given their expected contracts and recent past mediocrity. Soriano has the same issues, but he brings it to the table at 2B, with the versatility to play OF.
  5. Chris Brown isn't even the starter in TN. I'd go with Jones too. BTW, a question of my own. Reggie Bush or Ladell Betts, with Portis out.
  6. YEAH BABY! What a win by the Hoosiers on the road. I know it's just a MAC team, but if IU was in the MAC they'd be a 4th place team at best. KLew took them to school!
  7. 24-13 is a decent score. Grossman will throw a pick. Hopefully, he can combat that by completing 60% of his passes and throwing for a score or two. My players to watch out for today on offense are: Desmond Clark and Adrian Peterson. Clark has looked a lot better this preseason, and I think he will be a big threat inside the 20 for a score. Peterson is the healthiest of the backs, and I think it is possible for him to get an extended look at some point in this game. On defense, I think Wale Ogunleye is one to watch out for. He looked pretty solid this preseason also.
  8. 3 fantasy leagues, 1 survival league, 2 NFL pick-ems and 1 college pick-em. Finishing up 4 baseball leagues (acutally, been eliminated in 3 of them). I want to try a college FF league next year.
  9. He also thinks Lovie makes personnel decisions. Didn't know he was GM too.
  10. I believe it is correct. At least, that was always my impression too.
  11. So, by process of elimination, Alex Brown did practice today. Nice. If I had to pick 3 to NOT practice, it would be those 3. Alex and Mike Brown are obviously the biggest needs in that group.
  12. I loved Azumah. I wish when the Bears were bad that they would have given Zoom some reps as the 3rd down back. I would love to see his college RB skills put to use.
  13. I went to a fantasy advise message board and was told to do it because I was getting the best SP in the game, but that Holliday was a platoon player who couldn't hit on the road.
  14. Yeah, that's pretty much how it worked.
  15. Ahem, in May, I traded Jose Guillen and Ty Wigginton for Justin Morneau. Me and Juan's blockbuster is looking ok for me too. I got Matt Holliday and Johan Santana for Jason Bay, Marcus Giles, and Paul Maholm. I have my share of questionable trades too. My (least) favorite in the 04 offseason, I traded Fielder, Carlos Lee, and Ben Sheets for Richie Sexson, Kaz Matsui and JD Closser. Sexson was easily the best player at that time (highest scoring). Fielder was coming off a mediocre AA season. Lee was an average player for CWS. Matsui was a potential superstar at a tough to find middle IF spot. And Closser was the projected starting catcher for the pre-humidor Rockies. OUCH! IT could be me as defending champion.
  16. I don't expect it, but wouldn't be surprised if ND blew out PSU. 35-7 is my wild prediction score.
  17. Texas will beat Ohio St. That is all.
  18. Question #1-Rex Grossman. Question #2-Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson are the RB's. Question #3-I dunno. Who was the "offensive weapon everyone feared in 2005"? It's funny. The Bears were the #2 seed in the NFC last year with the same questions. Like the QB or not, they're improved by Orton being the 3rd option instead of #1. The RB thing is completely [expletive]. The Bears are bringing back all 3 RBs, and the entire OL from a team that was 8th in rushing the year before. Who did teams fear for the World Champion Steelers? Parker was a breakaway threat, but Jones had a much better season. Bettis was not even as good as Peterson. Ward is a good, if not great, WR, but he's is more of a possession guy.
  19. Philly or Florida is fine to me. Philly would be a great story, Florida would be absolutely amazing. And obviously, I'm rooting for the Twins in the AL.
  20. Can we drop players now that we don't want and we know nobody else will want as keepers?
  21. Wow! Chargers LB Steve Foley was shot in a crazy story by an off duty police officer.
  22. I don't like Bulger much, but I'd do that deal. I'd probably do it for Kevin Jones if he added a halfway decent WR. Plus, it would be cool for him to have 3 Jones' in the backfield.
  23. Yeah, right! Like the Cubs would ever be winning consecutive games going into the 9th inning. No, seriously, I don't see why he couldn't be. I think any short reliever can close outside of Latroy Hawkins and Kyle Farnsworth.
  24. Shayne Graham- K, Cincinnati Bengals
  25. I'd give him strong consideration for MVP. And considering that Andruw won it last year over Pujols and Lee, I'm guessing Howard has a real strong chance.
