  1. He only eats people in a vegetative state.
  2. I am with you 100%. I've always wondered what a non-pinstripe home white would look like. I'd have to see it before forming an opinion, but it could look good. Oh, and if you're bringing back the blue, put the logo from the pinstripes on them instead of the walking cub. I like the Mets non-stiped whites. Cubs pinstripes are as legendary as the Yankees stripes though. The one thing that could be improved with the blue jerseys would be the shade of blue. Either make them the blue of the current spring training jersey's or make them the dark blue of the old ST jerseys.
  3. Bring back blue and make them nameless Bring back nameless pinstripes Script the Grays.
  4. I've never been a big Samardzija fan. I've always been under the belief that his prospect status is not based on his ability to throw a mid-90s fastball, with good stuff but rather his ability to throw a mid-90s fastball, with good stuff and the atheticism to be a 1st round NFL drafted WR. I've always question whether Samardzija would be so highly thought of if he had played baseball full-time. It very well could be that his lack of full focus on college baseball covered up that he couldn't get hitters out over the long-term.
  5. I do like Bayless, but he's no Eric Gordon.
  6. 1. Vitters 2. Soto 3. Colvin 4. Donaldson 5. Gallagher 6. Ceda 7. Veal 8. Huseby 9. Thomas 10 Samardzija
  7. Most recent bracketology is interesting. IU as a 5-seed with a nostalgic first round matchup vs. the Cuse which would be a tough matchup. 2nd round date would matchup the top 2 freshmen in Gordon and #4 seed, K-State's Beasley.
  8. That's the approach I've taken in the Cubs offseason the last couple years. You gotta think like the Cubs and think of logical moves that save them from themselves as much as possible. I wanted Soriano last offseason, so Hendry wouldn't spend months looking at acquiring a speedy, slap-hitter to put at the top of the lineup. Part of the reason I want Roberts now is it guarantees at least one .350+ OBP in the top 2 of the order (whether Soriano/Roberts or Roberts/Theriot). If the Cubs have a speed and top of the order fetish, they might as well get it out of someone who actually produces at a high level.
  9. Well, AJ Ratliff didn't really contribute much this year. But the bold is still a decent possibility. I'd rather the italics ring true.
  10. "so, is it true what they say about Asian men?"
  11. Big Ten remaining schedules Indiana - Home vs. Ohio St. and Minnesota -@ Northwestern, @ Mich St., @ Penn St. Purdue -Home vs. Minnesota and Northwestern -@ Ohio St and @ Michigan Wisconsin -Home vs. Mich. St and Penn St. -@ Illinois, @ Ohio St., @ Northwestern
  12. Wow! What a game. Knocked down our FTs. We are playing our best stretch of basketball and I think the Sampson situation has taken a not-so focused team and allowed them to focus on just playing the game the way their talent allows. For as much as I've heard (haven't seen PU much) about the pressure D, our turnovers weren't really forced for the most part. DJ White made a difference inside, but not actually as much as I thought. Armon Bassett was amazing, with a career high 8 boards at 6'1" and 16 big points. Taber gave us some great minutes. Good win all around.
  13. Rumors circulating that Marvin Harrison may be a cap casualty for the Colts, depending on how they feel his knee will recover. Don't know how much truth is to that one, but that's a lot more than a splash. I think I heard already that he is out for training camp at least.
  14. DJ White WILL play tonight vs. Purdue. If IU wins, it becomes a 3-team race again for the Big Ten title. With IU losing 2 vs. UW, and UW losing 2 vs. Purdue, and Purdue losing their only one vs. IU. If Purdue wins, they pretty much have the conference title locked up.
  15. Soriano's gonna have a monster year this year.
  16. Yeah, I agree. I wouldn't trade very much for Willits, and probably not Marquis, who is likely to be the best of the 3-headed monster that includes Lieber and Dempster.
  17. you'd trade graduating kids every year for a run of Final Four's. Sure, if you can point out where I even remotely hinted to saying that. I'm saying you can do both. Which IU has proven.
  18. As an IU fan/alum who despised Knight since about the mid-90s, the biggest thing he did, to me, was run a clean program. He didn't get any sanctions. His players didn't get into trouble much, and if they did they were immediately let go (Sherron Wilkerson, etc). And his players graduated from school. Granted, I'd love a championship and am rooting for IU to do so this year, with or without Sampson.....but I take a lot of pride in having five 100% clean championships.
  19. don't want berrian for the price he'd command. i like the idea of faneca, but the guards weren't the big problem. the tackles were. miller needs to go and tait needs to go back to rt. They were? Ruben Brown wasn't very good when he was in there. When he got hurt, they were abysmal in his spot. Garza has never been anything special.
  20. i thought adams played very well this season. AA is Adam Archuleta.
  21. Ceda is the Latin Bobby Jenks. Keep him in relief. Move Marmol to the rotation.
  22. He took it so well too. Wouldn't be surprised if they tried to trade Jason Taylor too.
  23. Ceda's gonna be a good one. But he's probably gonna be a late inning reliever. If it came down to him vs. Gallagher in a Roberts trade, I would trade Ceda in a heartbeat.
  24. Hmm. Let's see. 9-9 vs. the Reds last year, including losing 7 of the first 11. 0-6 vs. the Marlins last year. 8-7 vs. the Pirates last year, including losing 6 of the first 10. All those teams have some of the best young talent in the game, while the Cubs have little. The Cubs don't do well vs. young talent.
