    I think Michigan St. is a very interesting situation. They don't play Ohio St. And the only challenge they have left is at Iowa. With no conference championship game, if they go undefeated they will have won the Big Ten without playing arguably its best team. The Michigan win gets weaker every week, leaving Wisconsin and potentially Iowa as its only signature wins. I don't think you can say that those 2 wins are better than Boise's potential body of work, which includes VT, Oregon St, and Nevada. Or TCU who could have wins over Oregon St, Utah, and Air Force.

    The Buffalo announcers make me want to drive the 2 1/2 hours to get there and punch them in the throat. Too many shots on goal continues. Sharp has been excellent.

    Have my typical Sunday morning doubts about a game the Bears should win. So, I decided to post my keys to the game. 1. No day off for D. The Bears D knew they had to carry the team last week w/o Cutler, and they played like it. With Cutler back, that doesn't mean the D can wait for the offense to pick them up. 2. As Lovie likes to say, "Get off the bus running". I know Seattle is #2 vs. the run. I know they are like 30 vs. the pass. But you got an unsettled OL, with yet another personnel change. And you have a QB coming off a concussion that doesn't need to take a lot of hits in a winnable game. Seattle has been so bad vs. the pass that they can't keep committing heavily to the run. Wear them down early and playaction late. 3. Turnovers. Hasselbeck likes to throw the ball to the opposing team. Stay disciplined and at least 2 balls will be there for the picking. 4. Special teams. The Bears have a recent history of dominant special teams play. Seattle has the #1 return team in the NFL. Don't give Seattle any short fields by giving up big returns. Show them the ST standard bearer of the last 5 years.

    Greinke's interesting. His 2009 was excellent. But his 2007, 2008 and 2010 were all very similarly slightly above average. I'd be very interested to see if Rothschild can help him turn the corner to being a consistent ace type pitcher. He is still only turning 27 next week so you can probably get his best performance over the next 2 years, the final 2 of his contract. I'd kick the tires on him definitely. He'll only cost 13.5Mil for each of the next 2 years, which should be less $ than Lee and a shorter committment than any other FA SP worth a crap. I actually don't think it would cost too much in terms of prospects because of his price tag. His salary nearly doubles and KC would be paying him 3x as much as anyone else on their roster. I think if they can get some ML ready talent they'd make the deal in a heartbeat.

    Got a couple tough decisions. RB- One of: Knowshon Moreno vs. NYJ BJ Green-Ellis vs. Balt WR- Two of: Pierre Garcon vs. Wash Louis Murphy vs. SF Sims-Walker vs. Tenn Brandon Tate vs. Balt

    Yeah, especially being off to such a good start. I would have thought Mankins would have been an easy trade target, assuming the Pats asking price wasn't too high. As for the draft, I'd probably go OL twice by the 4th round at latest, preferably by 3rd. I don't know if they can go OL 1-2, considering other needs (DL) and the fact that you can typically find starting potential players at every OL spot except for LT in rounds 2-4.

    The problem I have with that is that I don't like this LT class, and I think whoever the Bears draft (especiallly since it appears it will be in the 20s) is going to be similar to Chris Williams, decent prospect but not a franchise type guy like Oher, Clady, Joe Thomas, Jake Long. Plus, I think you can get a OG like Pouncey, Wisnewski, or Hudson in the 2nd round who are likely to be better than Williams at guard. Granted you can still go LT and OG in the 1st and 2nd, because you still need a RG if Williams sticks, but I don't know that Williams at LG is the most efficient way to get this OL to being league average or better.

    One's hurt now. One will be hurt soon. I'd keep Moreno who is more likely to be consistent when he's 100%, if that ever happens.

    Gore's not a disappointment this year. If it's a PPR, he one of the top 5 RBs in the league. He's on pace for 106 receptions for 900+ yards. Never been a huge TD guy, but he's on pace for 9 which is decent. The top team is getting the better deal. Steelers D is one of the best "players" to have. Can score as much as an elite RB on great weeks, and a decent TE on bad weeks. I think Jackson and Moss are basically the same player at this point. Moss is going to get you more TDs, but I think Jackson will get more yards when all is said and done, plus rushing yards and return yards. Gore over McFadden is a no brainer, even with as good as DMC has started. Rivers is the better QB to have simply because his team can't run as well and his D can't stop the pass so they are always in shootouts.

    If Ronnie Brown was hurt and Moreno wasn't hurt....it wouldn't be so bad. Ricky Williams was a top 7-8 RB in our league last year.

    It's hard to say he sucks at something he doesn't do. That's like saying I suck at ice skating. Well, I've never put any effort into trying to ice skate. Angelo hasn't put any effort into trying to solve the OL.

    See I don't think they should be trying to salvage something out of him. People keep bringing up Gallery w/ the Raiders, but he went from a bad LT to being a league average LG at best. That reeks of a guy getting every chance to play only because he was picked in the 1st round. If he can't play, he can't play. You can get a potential above average OG in the 2nd round. You can get another guy w/ a shot to be a franchise LT in the 1st. If the move to LG is an indictment on Williams, it has taken 2 1/4 years to realize he's not the LT of the future. I don't want to waste another 2 1/4 just to find out he's an OK guard, which is all he's likely to be anyway.

    I just got offered Andre Johnson and Ricky Williams for Ray Rice. What should I do? ' I'm leaning toward declining, because that would leave me with Williams, Moreno, Spiller, and Green-Ellis as my RBs. But I would be loaded at WR with A. Johnson, Calvin Johnson, and Fitzgerald. It is a PPR league.

    Maybe the worst in America. But I'm sure the Raptors have that distinction.

    Yep...which explains the Williams move. Some ways yes. In other ways, they still moved the supposed franchise LT to LG, and he's almost halfway thru his 3rd year with 5 full games at his drafted position.

    Williams did play some LG at Vandy. Started 9 games there as a Sophomore (was Cutler at QB then?). My biggest issue is the Bears talked all this BS about needing the same 5 guys out there in order to get better. I understand injuries happened, but the Bears have started 8 different guys on the line. Webb and Williams were brought in (and both played left and right side) in the middle of games when other people were struggling. My guess is this is a "best 5 linemen" on the field move. And we already know Omiyale can't play OG.

    I think it's a really bad sign. Omiyale is not good. None of the other tackles are good. If Williams cannot lock down a tackle spot the need for more heavy spending on the line skyrockets. If he can play guard well, it fills a role...not as important a role as LT, but still...see if you can find a spot where he can excel. I guess I'd rather him be a success as guard than a total failure at LT. Obviously, this is preferred. But I'd almost sink or swim with Williams at LT. He's the only OL on the team drafted before the 4th round, other than Kreutz who was the 2nd pick of the 3rd almost 15 years ago. So, by default, he's the most talented OL on the team. If he can't play LT, the team is screwed either way. Even if he's a decent LG, you can probably find better in the draft or free agency.

    Interested to see what the OL looks like this week. Chris Williams is supposed to be ready to go. Not sure about Louis. Do they automatically get their jobs back? Does Omiyale move back to RT? Does Eddie Williams go back to the bench if Louis is 100%? The Bears have played 9 different OL men this year already.

    Are you a teetotaller or something? Why would you make that conclusion? 1. I would rather watch any game from the comfort of my own home. 2. Sundays are the only day I get to spend all day with my son. Not spending half of it at a bar.

    Another game like that is certainly possible, but the Bears have to show the commitment to the run even when they have a capable QB. The Bears still have games vs. the #32 run D (Buffalo), #26 run D (Detroit), and #24 run D (Philly) in yards per game. And that doesn't include 2 vs. GB (6th in most yards per carry allowed) and 1 vs. Washington who is tied for 7th in highest YPC. Also FWIW, Seattle's run defense has been the best in the NFL outside of the Steelers. 73 ypg, 2.7 ypc. Conversely they have the 2nd worst pass D. The Bears are going to need Cutler to win this game.
