  1. Seems like an odd way to value a player. I understand the logic of it, but I would guess it's pretty rare for any player to bring back a pick as high as the one he was taken with. If a player is getting traded, there's usually a good reason why he doesn't get similar value. Cutler, ironically, is a rare exception of a top 15 pick getting a top 15 pick + in return. I'm not sure why you are trying to characterize trades the way you are. Trades in general are rare in the NFL. There's a couple different reasons for them. A) A team doesn't want the guy so they move him to another team, or B) A player outperforms expectations but the team that has him has another guy in place and so they trade him to a team that can use him. This often happens with QBs, like Cassel and Kolb. And on occasion, a team doesn't have interest in signing an extension to a star player and they move him for pretty high value, like Richard Seymour. All of those guys were traded for value at or above where they were taken. If a player is taken in the 1st round, then gets traded 5 years later for a 3rd round pick, his team was trying to get rid of him and he didn't live up to his 1st round status. I'm not arguing that Olsen lived up to his 1st round status. I even agree that those are the reasons players get traded. It was just weird to see "he was picked 31st and traded for 70th pick". Basically my point is not that he didn't live up to his billing because he didn't get the Bears a 1st round pick, but he didn't live up to his billing for the simple fact that he did get traded. Obviously, it's not a case where he was a star and or at a position of great depth like Seymour or Cassel so that puts him in the A category, which I agree with. For a player to be in the A category, it means he didn't live up to his billing.

  3. CBS Sportsline does their Top 25 + 1 thing. Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Michigan St, and Indiana are ranked in a row 20-23 (with UW and U of I tied at 20). Why they have 2 teams tied at 20 and still have the next team at 21, I have no idea.
  4. With our luck, Bears are going to win next week with the Lions losing to the Raiders, get Cutler and Forte back on Xmas for the Packers, lose a heartbreaker and then win vs. Minnesota, so the Bears will draft 20th (first team out of playoffs) instead of like 14th or something they would pick from being 7-9.
  5. Why Urlacher is talking post game trash is beyond me YOU LOST THE FREAKIN GAME MORON! The offense lost the game. They went all those years without an offense, and just when it looked like they had one with credibility, one that could actually convert on 3rd and 8, and score occasionally, it all blows up and they now have a worse offense than they've ever had during the Urlacher era. He's not talking trash, its accurate. The thing that sucks the most about these three games is those teams are obviously terrible, and they've done nothing in the games played to suggest they are anything but terrible. The Bears offense is just so incredibly impotent without Cutler that it doesn't even matter how terrible those opponents have been. With Cutler they probably win all three games by more than a touchdown. Yep, if Cutler's healthy, we're 10-3 with an 8 game win streak and all but locked up a playoff spot. Hell, I'll even give the Raiders that game because the Bears did put up a decent amount of points. Still 9-4 team with Cutler at worst. Pay him whatever the hell he wants, oh and get him some damn help.
  6. This looked like it was going to be a great weekend. IU beat Kentucky in the most exciting way possible. My fantasy team dominated. The Panthers were attempting a sub 40 yard FG with a chance to take the lead over Atlanta. The Vikings were at the 1 yard line with a chance to win on the last play. The Bears were up 10-0 with 4 minutes to play and no timeouts for the Broncos. Cowboys were up double digits late with a chance to end the Giants WC chances. Now the only likely way the Bears get in is if they beat the Packers, and if they beat the Packers week 16, the Packers will have no incentive to play Week 17 vs. Detroit, and the Lions will beat them too, still making it in over the Bears.
  7. Maurice Jones-Drew! Led my team to a 148 point week. Into the semis in my league. Get a matchup with the team that started the season 9-0 before losing the last 4 games and finishing 3rd from last in points scored.
  8. I'm not watching this game anymore.
  9. Seriously! Why? Why does this suck so bad?
  10. Longest onside kick ever. That took forever.
  11. Why playing prevent? That sucked
  12. Seriously? You want the Bears to lose don't you? um. what Using the Lord's name in vain vs. Tebow?
  13. What do we have to do to get a holding call?
  14. Seriously? You want the Bears to lose don't you?
  15. Peppers getting doubled, held right in front of the ref and doesn't get a call
  16. Can't believe they kicked that.
  17. The Collins/Clausen crap fest from last year is the worst quarterbacked game of all time. Agreed.
  18. That's what you get for calling a pass play idiot.
  19. How do you drop that ish last week and catch that?
  20. Playaction and throw seam to Davis. My guess, not my call.
  21. 1 first down and FG please! :beg:
  22. Oh my. He got tired or that was housed
  23. Best play of the day by Pep there.
  24. Was he in on the punt? I thought I saw that last week too. Maybe he just plays in punt situations for whatever reason? No, he was in on the Hanie scramble on 3rd down. Not sure if at LT or LG, but he was there.
