  1. Good thing he's on the [expletive] floor at this point in the game.
  2. Are you sure it's that much different? Last year, 2nd round, Marvin Austin goes off the board. Bears trade up 9 spots to take Stephen Paea because he's the next best DT on the board in their opinion and they don't want to miss out on him. This year, 2nd round, Stephen Hill goes off the board. Bears trade up 5 spots to take Alshon Jeffery because he's the next best WR on the board in their opinion and they don't want to miss out on him. Last year, take a Pac-10/12 safety in the 3rd round that was a converted CB that had impressive measurables for Height/Weight/Speed. This year, take a Pac-10/12 safety in the 3rd round that was a converted CB that had impressive measurables for Height/Weight/Speed. Reached for a QB in the 5th last year. Reached for an H-back in the 4th this year.
  3. Man, Evan Turner is a bitch.
  4. Congrats Seattle. Picked the first player I've never heard of.
  5. Like their draft too. Added some team speed on that turf....for now.
  6. Ding. Ding. Ding. You take a player because he's the best player on the board that fits a role on your team. You don't take a player because he "might not be there" by the next time you pick.
  7. Mayock is agreeing with me as I type.
  8. Andy, I think Carolina has one of the top 3 drafts so far. Love what they are doing. Still don't have a DT, but I think Kuechly and Silatolu are pro-bowl potential players. Joe Adams is a better receiving version of Devin Hester. Josh Norman, I think is a steal at this point. If you can get Alexander to come to play every week off the edge, damn good draft class so far.
  9. Or, you know, if you could have gotten the same guy two rounds later while also picking up a better athlete in the 4th. Even if he is a HOF TE, if the Bears could have had him in the 6th (not a given, obviously) AND also had another player to develop in the 4th, it's still a reach. It's a great pick if he's a HOFer, but it's still a reach regardless.
  10. So anything that starts f and ends ck is filtered? flick is not
  11. A 6'1", 240lb TE. This effing sucks.
  12. I didn't get the impression Ta'amu was a fit for the Lovie's defense. He's not really, but it would be intriguing.
  13. What the hell? I honestly do like Ron Brooks, and he's probably worthy of a 4th round pick. But seriously, are we only drafting players because of special teams ability? McClellin, Hardin, Brooks, and everyone the Bears signed other than Marshall are all guys that are almost more valuable on special teams,
  14. My top 10 players available (for the Bears): 1. Bobby Massie, OT, Ole Miss 2. Brandon Boykin, CB, Georgia 3. Billy Winn, DT, Boise St 4. Alfonzo Dennard, CB, Nebraska 5. Orson Charles, TE, Georgia 6. Alameda Ta'amu, DT, Washington 7. James Brown, OT/OG, Troy 8. Ben Jones, OC, Georgia 9. Josh Norman, CB, Coastal Carolina 10 Zebrie Sanders, OT, Florida St There are a couple players that may be better players, that don't fill a need for the Bears (aka Cam Johnson, DE, Virginia, and a couple RBs and WRs)
  15. Reached a round for Hardin. Like that he has great size, and is a formet CB so he should be able to cover TEs. But u gotta pick Masse or thompson ther. 2 best on board and fill huge needs
  16. Yes. Needs to be the pick if still there
  17. It's all about motivation with him. As a 1st, he could roll around in his money. As a 2nd, he's got things to prove. I like it more and more. Weight and motivation arent why I dont like the pick. He cant get consistent separation.
  18. Not a fan of this pick. Jeffrey cant separate well enough, wulda liked more of a field stretcher.
  19. The Bears need the help at DT. Melton, Paea, and Toeina is it on the roster (Jordan Miller from practice squad also around). If I was a betting man though, I'd say WR and OL are the most likely picks tonight.
  20. Well, the only team that traded up at the end of the first was New England twice. Minnesota also traded up, but gave up a 2nd. The Bears probably felt they had to stay above GB to get McClellin, and probably didn't want to trade with NE because they might have taken him themselves.
  21. Trading up is probably unnecessary. Worthy, K Reyes, Massie, Glenn, Randle, or Hill would all be amazing picks and the BPAs for what the Bears need on the board. And there is a pretty good chance of 1 of them falling. You still have 3 1st round talents on the board at all of DT, WR, and OT. I still think you're going to have someone either take or trade up for a QB (Osweiler or Cousins). Still have Upshaw on the board among others, and then there's flat out reaches like Irvin and Jenkins that are possible. If Janoris is on the board at 50, I'd also probably take that risk too. He's very good.
  22. This is kind of a wait and see pick for me. Not the no-brainer like Carimi was last year. I think the biggest asset McClellin provides is his versatility. As a player, he's almost an exact clone of Mike Vrabel. I'm guessing I'm not the only one that sees the Vrabel similarities either, as Emery has mentioned the "Patriot Way" a few times since being hire in Chicago. The thing with Vrabel though is that he played every year of his career in a 3-4 defense. But what he did was play LOLB, ROLB, and ILB in the 3-4 starting for multiple seasons at each position and playing all 3 during most games in his career. Like Vrabel, I think McClellin can play all those positions. He can rush the passer from the 3-pt stance, he can blitz from the 2pt stance, he can play the run inside or out. He's actually one of the better LBs in zone coverage in this draft. The problem I see is that he's not elite enough in any of those areas to ONLY do one of those things on a consistent basis in the NFL. He's pretty decent at all of them though, which is where his value lies. The Bears looked at a lot of undersized guys with speed this offseason. Bruce Irvin, McClellin, Tim Fugger from Vandy, Darius Fleming from ND, and Melvin Ingram. So, I wonder if they are possibly going to use McClellin as a SLB on run downs and as a pass rusher in the nickel. I think that would maximize his abilities to help this team. My biggest issue is that if the Bears really wanted to improve the pass rush, I think Perry, Mercilus and Jones were all better pass rushers on the board. I'm not a big fan of Jones, but I think he would've been a better fit. Mercilus would be strictly a pass rusher who wouldn't help on run downs but really get after the QB on 3rd and long. Perry was the best all-around player to me with strength in the run game and explosion off the edge rushing the passer. I don't hate the pick of McClellin, but also don't love it. But let's all hope he performs well in whatever role the Bears put him in.
  23. Was hoping bears would trade up for Cox
  24. That'd be dope! I'm OK with that even though I'm not sold on Brockers. My thoughts on Brockers are about the same on Chandler Jones. But Brockers gets the huge edge based on the fact that if his only skill is stopping the run, at least he plays the right position for that skill.
  25. Don't see the Cox thing happening. I think Philly will move up for him or Carolina may take him at 9. I think the Bears only come in play if he gets past Carolina at 9. Seattle at 12 is a prime trade spot. I'd go from 19 to 12 for Fletcher Cox in a heartbeat provided the trade package was reasonable.
