  1. Heh. I forgot to drop Celek this week (was going to pick up Pitta) and he puts up 157 yards receiving. Thank you!
  2. The Tampa/New Orleans game should be a classic. 90-87, calling it now.
  3. Ha! Or not!
  4. Damn lucky ass Patriots.
  5. Not going to happen this year. Probably not going to happen next year with McCarron and some good RBs coming back. Maybe 2014 if Bama just completely stops recruiting people.
  6. I really don't know enough about him to slot him. From what I have heard about him, I'd guess I'd slot him around 12 (in front of Junior Lake), but some have suggested that he could be in my top 5 (2nd best pitching prospect).

  8. Also to add, benching Webb might be a good idea for Jay Cutler's sake. Not that I think he's going to be pressured or sacked any less with another player at LT. But, let's face it, Cutler doesn't like Webb. Never has. This isn't the first time he's gotten in his face. He's dogged him in the media before. Louis, Williams, Omiyale, and Pace all have played horrible at OT in Jay's tenure in Chicago, and none of them saw Cutler's wrath the way Webb has for a while. It's pretty clear to me that Cutler doesn't think he can do the job, even if he hasn't come out and said so explicitly. Getting someone else in there would probably be best for Cutler's confidence and/or sanity.
  9. No, none of the LT options (I'm not sold on Carimi at LT) are good options. But I have no problem benching Webb at this point and trying Carimi or Williams. Webb has been unacceptably bad. Think about it though. Webb was "unacceptably bad" against Clay Matthews and Jared Allen in 2 of his last 3 games. Just so happens they are 2 of the best pass rushers walking the Earth, and he was given the task of blocking both BY HIMSELF for the majority of the games. Webb was acceptably bad or better for most of last year after the Detroit game, and in Week 1 vs. Indy. I don't think he's unacceptably bad for the most part. The Bears have and can win games with him at LT. The problem is he is nowhere near being good and most likely never will be. And I agree there isn't a good option on the roster (said Scott isn't good in my post, FWIW). And at this point, the Bears just need to get as close to not horrible as they possibly can on the OL. Webb has shown flashes of being decent, but he's shown too many flashes of horrible. Williams hasn't really shown anything at OT other than horrible. Scott, at least, has the most history of something resembling success in his NFL career.
  10. The fact that J'Marcus Webb won the LT job (by a pretty healthy margin in my eyes) should be enough to tell you guys that Chris Williams on the field isn't going to help matters. Jonathan Scott, who also isn't that good, is a better option to take over LT in the future if Webb continues to falter. He's been a spot starter several times over the last 3 years and at least doesn't get completely blown by when he's out there.
  11. marshalls screw up meant a fg. Bennetts meant a int. Webbs could get Cutler killed. its a sliding continuum im sure, but its still not all equal First off, hyperbole. Cutler won't die at the hands of Clay Matthews Jr. Secondly, Webb's sack allowed was the least impactful of the 3 plays in question. Marshall's took 4 points off the board. Bennett catches that ball and the Bears have a good shot at 3 points (woulda been over midfield after the catch). It's a lot easier for Brandon Marshall to catch an open pass and Earl Bennett to come back for the football than it is for Webb to block Clay Matthews. It's not all equal, but neither were the talent levels. Why pick on the worst player on the field when he has a bad play, but don't hold the best player accountable?
  12. Eli Manning won the Superbowl last year, yet in Weeks 15 and 16 fighting for a division title (not Week 2, mind you!) he followed a 0 TD, 3 INT loss to lowly Washington (ironically a 23-10 score) with a 9-27 performance vs. the Jets. Rodgers had a 3 of 4 game stretch in his Superbowl season where he barely completed 1/2 his passes, losing to 2 bad teams (WAS, MIA) and beating the Jets 9-0. Hell he got to the Superbowl that year putting up a 0 TD, 2 INT game vs. the Bears with a 55.4 QB rating. In his 50 TD season, Brady got to the SB despite thrown 3 INTs in the championship game. Point is, bad games happen to good QBs. They happen more often when that good QB doesn't have good players around him. Cutler doesn't have a ton of good players, including 0 blocking for him on a play-to-play basis. He played like [expletive] last night, but he had a lot of company.
  13. I think Jay's blowup at Webb was more trying to motivate him. That's what I would gauge about the "nudge". He was pissed, but I'm willing to bet he wasn't belittling Webb as people seem to be implying. Webb would have beat his ass if he was being disrespectful. I will admit, it does make Jay look bad that he didn't blow up at Marshall or Bennett for the dropped TD and caused INT, though. Of course, Webb has a 3 year history of getting Cutler nailed, but Webb kinda seems like more of an easy target than anything else since he didn't blow up at the WRs. Cutler was actually seen smiling with Marshall right after the dropped TD. This is not a gripe on Cutler at all, but it seems like a double standard from him.
  14. I remember hearing something about a Game 6 with the Cubs, but I'm not sure what happened there.
  15. I've seen the exact opposite. HC is in every draft room. I remember specifically this year, Pete Carroll, Belichick, etc.
  16. That and the fact that Cutler was running for his life all 2nd half. The Bears didn't throw any quick passes, other than maybe the Jeffery catch early. But you gotta throw some quick screens, slants or something to get Marshall involved (and Clay out of the backfield). Horrible, horrible game plan by Tice. Very Martz-esque.
  17. Allowed 3 points after a bogus 12-men on the field call. Allowed 3 points after a dropped INT. Allowed a 1 play drive after basically a game-clinching INT, a TD that doesn't happen if the game was closer as Cutler wouldn't have forced the ball. Throw in the fake FG and as far as I'm concerned, they gave up 6 points (including the FG after the dropped INT).
  18. 2 games into the season, the Bears are either a championship caliber offense or the worst offense in the NFL. At least we got the Rams next.
  19. To be fair, Webb hasn't been the only bad OL in this game. And he was a 7th round pick.
  20. God, get the real refs out there.
  21. That one was on the OL.
  22. He's gotta throw it. The last 3 sacks have been on Jay.
  23. Briggs has played his ass off. Actually always shows up vs. GB.
  24. Onsides that bitch.
  25. Hell yeah he did. It was 4th down, game over if they don't convert. I would have been pissed if he didn't hold.
