  1. Are you [expletive] serious?
  2. Horrible effing tackling.
  3. Ugh. 55 yards on the first play and end up with a 35 yard drive.
  4. Better than starting 1-11 or whatever the hell it was last week. Now get into the endzone.
  5. Gotta make that tackle behind the line.
  6. Need a quick start in all 3 phases of the game today. Get the ball first, I'd like to see Cutler get off to a good start for a change, possibly even going up top to Marshall or Jeffery early. If playing D first, I'd like to see a 3-and-out or at the very most 1 first down without the field position changing drastically in the Lions favor. Get a good, penalty free return in the right direction. Don't allow a return to jumpstart the Lions. Sounds like common sense, but get up on the Lions early and they have no reason to try to do anything but get Calvin his yards. Let them hang around early and they become more upset minded as spoilers.
  7. Inactives: Urlacher, Conte, Allen, Castonzo, Brandon-OT, Collins, and McCown. Apparently Harvey Unga was promoted from the practice squad and is the 3rd RB today! Not sure why Collins was benched vs. a passing team. Think he's been decent. Castonzo hurts special teams.
  8. That road schedule is awesome. But 7-1 still puts them in pretty good position to win the conference. Minnesota at home is the game I worry about most if those 8 on paper.
  9. Eh. Not concerned. Have Shark and Jackson for the long-term. Vizcaino should be ready to go by next year for sure. Then there are arms in the minors that could be ready. Not to mention the possibility of signing more guys like Feldman or Villanueva next year...or even another longer term deal.
  10. He mentioned that they see Gyorko as a Zobrist type who would play several positions. Yeah I could see that. That deal wouldn't stop the cubs from going after Olt still as he could play 3b with Gyorko at 2b. And I'd love Gyorko at 2b though his bat looks good enough for 3rd.
  11. They won't switch to 3-4. New coach would probably have to keep Marginally as a hire condition.
  12. Money won't be a huge issue this off-season. Peppers and Tillman can/will be restructured. Melton will be re-signed or franchised. Money can be saved by cutting Hester. And Long could be at a discount because of his injury.
  13. That would be nice. I'd probably even take Beckham off the Sox hands if it meant Gyorko for nothing much more than Wood, Vitters, and Szczur. Not sure what we'd do with him but he's cheap and still young enough.
  14. Definitely not good enough. But it's in that gray area where it may not be bad enough either. It's definitely time for a change, but I slightly understand if the FO wants to give Lovie a chance with a real offense. They drafted the RB, got the QB, got the WR...all in separate offseasons. If they can get the OL this year and maybe 1 more weapon....this team is ready to take that next step. Lovie has shown he can get a lot out of mediocre talent, maybe with good talent he can do more. This will be the 3rd time the Bears have had a chance to make a logical change in direction and if they bring Smith back and continue to hover around a 9 win team, it's their own fault.
  15. There is rising speculation that Lovie is actually safe. Emery is said to really like him and will give him another year with a winning season. Plus the stuff about Cutler wanting a consistent OC may keep Lovie around if he gets rid of Tice and gives the job to Bates. Of course, hiring a new coach would conceivably give the bears more future stability at OC as the new guy would probably get a 5-year deal and presumably get to coach at least 3 years of that with the same OC. But does Jay want to start all over again or go back to a guy that is around now and was there when Cutler had his most success? I tend to think Jay would rather stay with Bates and hopes some of that magic comes back from Denver. Especially with 1 year left on his deal. Get a new offense that still doesn't work and Jay may be looking to get out of here.
  16. So much for Sean Payton. Signed a 5-year extension to stay in NOLA.
  17. These easily were my 3. Flip the 1st and last though for my picks.
  18. He's a top 3 DT in the league this year. He's been awfully good, but is it me or does he seem to disappear from time to time? Although I suppose missing two weeks will distort my short-term memory. That was last year. This year he's made plays pretty consistently in the run and pass game. He is among the league leaders in tackles and sacks from his position.
  19. That's pretty cool to be the oldest living alum...of the greatest football team in the history of the world.
  20. He's a top 3 DT in the league this year.
  21. IU fans and UI fans secretly love Purdue. What can I say? Someone has to love the ugly Purdue co-eds. That's two shots at Purdue girls, out of your 34 total posts. There's got to be some back-story... ex-wife? Failed hookup? An ill timed laugh? Oh, and call me when Playboy starts their 'Girls of the Missouri Valley Conference' issue. To be fair Purdue girls are truly ugly.
  22. Bears have 5 probowlers. Yet, none of them have been the best player on the team this year. Tillman, Jennings, Melton, Peppers and Marshall are in. Briggs is not.
  23. I guess I'm ok with that, even though we will likely see a drop off in defense. I'd take the dropoff on D if u can add OL and TE talent to this offense. If those guys turn out any good, and Jeffery develops more this could be a top 15 offense. Worst case for the defense is probably still top 15 even with losses and regressions.
