  1. I think that's a legit catch, but it won't be called so as he switched from both hands above his head to his right hand then to his left, all before falling to the ground. While I think he had control the whole time, you can't switch hands and expect to get ruled that you did have control.
  2. Have you noticed a lot of news about the other interviews? I've only heard blurbs about whether or not they happened. Well we heard about the one that went 6 hours instead of 3. McCoy is possibly the highest profile candidate so I thought we'd hear some sort of reaction from a beat writer. McCoy was on a strict schedule so his interview couldnt go long. That's really all weve heard is the length of the one interview.
  3. Emery doesnt strike me as that shortsighted. A great way to fill a need is with a first round talent. He'll trade up if need be. Sure he could trade down for the right value, but I wouldn't bet on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I can see a trade down if there is a QB on the board that someone wants to take before the Jags pick in the 2nd. But I only see a trade if the Bears are dead set on drafting a TE with their 1st pick. Eifert and Ertz would both be overdrafts at 20, and at least 1 should be there if you go back to the top 7-10 of the 2nd round. I don't really like either idea. A lot will depend on the new coach though. If you don't take a TE with your first pick, might as well stay at 20 and draft the best OT, OG, LB available.
  4. Michigan is so good. I didn't think they would be "great" this year because of their lack of size and production from that size, but they have like the 4 of the 5 best players in the conference under 6'7".
  5. Yes, that's a big part of it. It's the only part of it.
  6. I can see people saying that coaches don't necessarily want to coach him based on what they've heard people make up throughout the league. But there's no way you can call him a coach killer. Dude has won 27 games in 3 years (out of 36 full games) with no OL. He certainly didn't get Shanahan fired, as the defense gave up 112 points in their last 3 games to take them from 8-5 to 8-8 for basically the 3rd year in a row (7-9 and 9-7 the other years).
  7. [i guess Shannon Sharpe and Troy Aikman went in on Cutler being a coach killer and no coach is jumping at the chance to coach him.
  8. You can walk with an MCL/ACL injury until the swelling gets nuts. I'm sure the rest of the NFL will out RG3 on blast for not coming back in, right? I mean, if Cutler could walk the sidelines...... @KillaCamWorrell: Dear Jay Cutler, this is how you play in the playoffs through a knee injury. Signed, RG3. Yes, you play very poorly. RG3 will get a pass because he obviously was hurt before hand, he had a brace on, and he laid down on the field when he got really hurt. Cutler didn't do any of that. People are stupid and think because they didn't see him get hurt he didn't get hurt.
  9. Looks like me and Thed Hoyerstein are the only ones who got this right. Didn't think these games were very hard to pick.
  10. You think so? I see Seattle being able to move the ball at will. If Lynch doesn't put the ball on the ground at the 2, it's 28-14 right now. When I posted that, Skins were still up 1. This with RG3 not being able to run or throw for the last 2 1/2 quarters. They haven't scored since early in the game, certainly would have put up more than 14 points if he was mobile at all. I hope his ACL isn't torn. I'm sure the league will investigate this with Andrews' statements.
  11. He shouldn't even be on the field.
  12. If RG3 were healthy, this would be Skins in a blowout.
  13. If Dennison brings the Shanahan/Kubiak zone blocking scheme with him, running the ball isn't necessarily a bad thing or being ultra-conservative. This is the same scheme that has made guys like Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson, Arian Foster, and Alfred Morris really good backs. I have no idea what Dennison will do, but the Shanahan/Kubiak run game isn't run three times into the line and punt. I think Forte is a zone scheme RB too. He's best when he can make 1 read, 1 cut and get up the field. Instead of the current scheme that requires him to hit the line and run thru a designed hole inside.
  14. Vizcaino's TJS came after a cup of coffee in the majors at age 20. Whitenack's TJS came after a cup of coffee in AA at age 22. Vizcaino has less to prove because he's knocking on the door of the majors and is still very young. Whitenack has more to prove because he did come back, lost some velocity and is still a couple years away from contributing in the majors, and is already 24 years old.
  15. To be fair, Dennison was the OC in Denver when Cutler went to his only ProBowl and threw for over 4500 yards, finishing 3rd in the league in pass attempts. Denver threw the ball 620 times that year and ran only 387. *Of course they were blown out 6 times that year and got into 3 other shootouts where both teams put up over 30 points.
  16. Voted for the 3 Ws in reverse alphabetical order.
  17. Bears apparently are going to talk to Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone. I like him. I think he gets more credit for Brees than Carmichael does. Developing a solid qb in Nassib at Cuse too.
  18. Wade only plays for the arguments with the refs. He's so lazy now. Doesn't move without the ball or play d much at all.
  19. Bulls to sign Daequan Cook who cleared waivers. Shooter.
  20. Apparently the interview with Mike Sullivan (Tampa OC) went for 6 hours. It was expected to be 3. I really don't want him. Only 1 year as an OC, and that was this past year. Freeman had a nice stretch of football from Week 4 to the first Atlanta game, but was terrible down the stretch, including back-to-back 4 INT games. Was QB coach for Eli Manning...the year he led the league in INTs in 2010. I hope Emery shoots a lot higher than this as it's the only interview Sullivan has had or will have, I believe. I do worry that they have similar military backgrounds. Sullivan was an Army Ranger. Emery was in the Navy. Hopefully they were just shooting the [expletive] about wars or something. Because this would be the same type of "aim low" hiring that we all thought Emery was last year.
  21. I agree with Sponge here. Cutler does not have the best pocket movement. He doesn't have that ability like Marino and Brady to just take a step in either direction to give himself a better look at the field, the defense, and to get a better angle to make a more accurate throw. But he does do as much as anyone (not named Romo) at buying time in the pocket. I think part of it is his dropback. He kinda stays laterally to the line of scrimmage and doesn't really turn his shoulders to have a blindside. So, he doesn't have to sidestep as much because he stays pretty square. And it's not like he gets a bunch of balls batted down at the time or anything, but there are times where I'd like to see him take a step to either side rather than changing his arm angle (which he is very good at doing) to get the ball to his receiver. Bad news is I think the last 4 years in Chicago has ruined any chance Cutler has to be this great mechanical QB. He's always going to be a little more wary than he should be about the pass rush coming at him. Good news is, it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. He's good enough at what he does to clearly win several games and to be very productive. So, I don't know that a new coach will focus too much on fundamentals, maybe at OTAs or something. But it's not going to be something to worry about during the season and it's not going to prevent Cutler from running any play in anyone's playbook that exists.
  22. Matt Scott on day 3 would work for me. I like the Qb from Duke, Renfree. I like Brown at Illinois St and Sorensen at Southern Utah better than both. I would rank them in order: Sorensen Brown Scott Renfree I like all 4 and would be happy with any. Renfree reminds me of Cutler in the sense that he went to a good school in a major conference but on a crappy team with little talent around him. But he has a good arm and underrated mobility.
  23. My realistic hope is a legit LT. Draft a LG first 2 rounds to start right away. Re-sign Louis. Let Webb/Carimi battle for RT. Louis/Carimi for RG. And I guess keep Garza one last year.
  24. Matt Scott on day 3 would work for me. I like the Qb from Duke, Renfree.
