  1. The Cardinals defense shouldn't be very good tonight. Piscotty has limited 1b experience. Holiday is terrible in LF. Grichuk can't throw. Molina isn't 100%. Clearly trying to keep pace with the Cubs' dongs. I think that's a bad idea for them.
  2. So...... This is pretty good.
  3. I don't think I've seen this posted on here. So, I'll just leave it here. Kyle Schwarber hits golf ball.
  4. Lester will hit 9th. I think you'll see Bryant and Rizzo switched, Russell 7th, Ross 8th. Wouldn't be surprised to see Montero start either. At the very least, if the Cubs have RISP and Ross is coming up, I'd imagine Joe wouldn't hesitate to pinch hit with Montero, as early as the 2nd if he has to.
  5. Nah. No reason to take him out. Don't get caught up in the hard hit balls. He was in control after the 6th. This isn't the regular season anymore. And that was an elimination game. You go with your best pitching option until the 27th out is recorded. The worst possible outcome is to blow a lead with the best pitcher in baseball watching because you thought the lead was safe.
  6. Pure frustration. They knew they were toast. I've never seen a more thorough example of a team being psyched out. They were psyched out on Monday. I know the Pirate Parrot account is a parody account, but trying to taunt Arrieta; the scheduled cheering instructions; Hurdle leaving Ramirez and Alvarez on his bench; completely going against his decision to do that before 1 time thru the order; the HBP; etc. The media here had been optimistic, but it came off more like they were trying to convince themselves they had a chance to win. They were a team that knew the only chance they had was for Cole to throw up 0's for 9 and hope their superior bullpen would beat the Cubs' bullpen in extras. I also loved how Maddon had no thoughts whatsoever of ever taking Arrieta out. Did he even send the bullpen guys out of the dugout?
  7. Told the Pirates fans, they were 1 and done again! Talking [expletive] when they took 2/3 from the Cubs a couple weeks ago. They "weren't worried about the Cubs". I said, "You must not have seen Arrieta pitch before." I really wish 1 of the top 3 teams didn't have to go home this early, but I'm glad it was them and not us.
  8. Seriously, how [expletive] good is this dude? Amazing!
  9. Making fun of Pirates fans on Facebook. Saying should have hit Arrieta in the hands, bringing up that Kang can't play because of the Cubs being dirty, and a large strike zone being the reason for Arrieta being so good.
