  1. Sinorice Perry is also a UDFA that made the roster. All 14 picks the last 2 years, 2 UDFAs from 2014 and a UDFA from 2013 are on the roster (Hurst). That also doesn't include Ola who was signed from Canada. Of course, the 2 mentioned by name probably took roster spots away from Michael Ford and CJ Wilson, who made the team as UDFAs last year.
  2. I assume he means Dale Moss. No. It's Rashard Ross. He was in camp with someone and averaged like 34 yards per kickoff return. Really fast supposedly.
  3. The U's QB is the son of the chick who played Felicia (the crackhead) in the movie Friday.
  4. Soler is faster than I thought. Though he did only take like 4 steps from 1st to 2nd, on that double.
  5. Bryant is potentially too good to trade. I don't see any scenario the Cubs trade him. Baez seems most likely based on him not being handpicked by this front office. Russell doesn't have as much time invested in him by this FO. Soler may be the most attractive to Miami for nationality reasons. Definitely have to include one of those 3. I'd imagine having a big time star at SS would be most ideal.
  6. Ok. Didn't realize that was you who posted the Cobb trade. I typically know where u are coming from. Agree on the Mariners. Matchup really well with the Cubs as trade partners, but I think they would value ML players over prospects. I wonder if the Tigers would do something bold again ala the Fielder trade to try and clear money for Price, Scherer or VMart. Though not sure how they'd match up with the Cubs.
  7. If he's 5-10, I'm 6-10. Not an inch over 5'6".
  8. At the bottom of the roster, rather have younger guys over Lane, Britton, etc. Surprised Spurlock over Williams, but Williams was hurt and missed key time.
  9. This screams Bears signing. I wanted him signed over Mundy in March or whenever. Raises some flags that he has been cut so many times and passed over consistently. Had a good 2012, but could only get a late in the offseason 1-year deal from the team that had him in the first place. Then didn't get signed for a while this offseason and cut. I think he can play but 32 GMs thinking little of him leaves me weary.
  10. Upton is much more likely to not be useless than Crawford. And can play CF, which I think is a necessity because we don't know how Alcantara will hit long term (largest sample size of the struggling rookies) and it gives the Cubs flexibility to make trades if necessary. Also what incentive do the Rays have to trade Cobb?
  11. Just coming to post about his defense. Hes been really good at 2b. Pretty sure he'd be good at SS or 3rd if he had to play either full time at this level. Probably better than Castro at either, IMO.
  12. We'll see. The 49ers won't have Bowman and Smith. Might not have Boone either if he's still holding out. And Ray McDonald just beat up a pregnant woman. It all falls down.
  13. Gurley is a top 10 talent. I don't think he makes it past 25. There's no way 32 teams can pass up on him because they don't value RBs. You value any RB that is this talented. Reminds me of Demarco Murray, but with the feet and speed of a smaller back. Not quite McCoy or Charles type feet, but maybe a notch below that level.
  14. Hes upset at being like the 5th best player on the future cubs.
  15. Soler's better than everybody. Yet the Cubs have 2 better prospects.
  16. Freaking monster If he can get over his drops, he's a top 15 pick. But that's been a big problem for him. At what position? I guess I'd call him a WR. Moved there from TE last year, but he's not going to be a guy that ever really lines up on the line anyway.
  17. 5 CBs. Tillman, Jennings, Fuller are the top 3. That's a pretty good group if Tillman is healthy. McManis outplayed Hayden in camp/preseason. Hurst is the 5th. I'd rather keep the younger/cheaper player as the 5th CB and special teamer than the 30+ year old Hayden. As for Lane, similar situation. Sucks to have to cut him, but he was clearly the 5th DE after Allen, Houston, Young, and Trevor Scott who had a great camp/preseason. Bass and Washington are younger, Washington is a potential Idonije-like stud on special teams and has shown a bit of it in the preseason. I think there are still a couple moves to be made. The Bears are said to be looking for a S and a return man. Spurlock is gone if they get a younger returner. May see someone like Bass traded for a depth S. If they pick up someone on waivers (Duke Ihenacho waived and started most of year for Broncos last year) then I think you may see them try to sneak either Sinorice Perry or Fales on the practice squad. Also if Marquess Wilson is put on IR-designated for return, then that opens up an extra spot. I hope to see Jerry Franklin make it back somehow. Also, Britton could be a guy re-signed after Week 1. May have been cut with that understanding, as his salary was only guaranteed if he made the team out of camp.
  18. Bryant Russell Schwarber Tseng McKinney Almora Edwards Gleyber Torres Johnson Rivero Underwood, Black, Zastryzny, Vizcaino, Vogelbach
  19. Actually same team won Boise's division in 1st and 2nd half so playoff spot goes to the team with the next best overall record in the division, which Boise has by 2 games right now.
  20. Playoff scenarios: Kane County is in by virtue of winning the 1st half MWL title. They have also won the 2nd half, and I believe set a franchise record with 90 wins. Believe playoffs start on Tuesday. Daytona is in the playoffs after clinching the 2nd half division championship last night. They'll open the playoffs on Tuesday. Tennessee is tied for the 2nd half division lead (despite being 1-game under .500), and they are playing the team they are tied with in a 5-game series. Series is tied 1-1. So, it's a best of 3 weekend series to determine who goes into the playoffs. Edwards and Johnson start the next 2 Iowa is 3 games out of the division (overall standings used not halves). They are in elimination mode right now as they area playing the 1st place team and must win out to have a chance at a 1-game playoff. Complicating things is a 2nd place division team only 1/2 game out, so Iowa needs Omaha to lose out also. Boise is eliminated. Season ends Monday. AZL Cubs are already over.
  21. I don't know that either Soler or Rizzo play both games today. Put Rizzo in the early game, Soler in the night game. Then both in the lineup together tomorrow when I can watch on WGN and there are no college football games on.
  22. Oh God, this team is going to be [expletive] epic isn't it. This is worth 107 years of suffering.
  23. Also known as the day Gabe Carimi's career ended. Got his ass handed to him, benched, moved to OG, hurt again, cut, then cut, then cut, then cut again.
  24. I wouldn't be surprised if they struggle in this game, but the Bears have a recent history of being strong starters. 4 straight season opening wins (and 5 of 6), the last 3 against teams that would eventually go to the playoffs in that same season (and 4 of 5 wins). 2 blowouts and last year's 4th quarter comeback. Going back 6 years, you have the blowout of the Colts in their stadium opener. So, I expect a struggle in the 1st half, but the Bears dominate in the 2nd. 14-14 half. Bears win 31-17. Then they beat San Francisco in Week 2.
  25. Some kind of vegetable, because you know he don't eat that [expletive].
