  1. http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm The bolded isn't even close to true.
  2. Do the owners have to give a reason why the reject a potential buyer? I'm trying to think of a reason they would give besides "He wears t-shirts and his hair is unkempt"
  3. Wow, most excellent.
  4. Exactly. QB rating is a really good example. I'd say that almost no football fans know how it's calculated but they do understand how to use it and what it signifies. OPS+ and ERA+ are also good examples. I'm not exactly sure how they go about adjusting it but I understand that it takes into account league and park effects and is a better tool to compare players. A commentator wouldn't need to explain how OPS+ or ERA+ is calculated they would just have to explain what it means. I think these two stats are something the casual fan would understand the importance of quite easily. It's intuitive. It's also easy to understand what is good what is bad with the average being 100.
  5. I keep looking at all the mock drafts hoping he somehow falls. But I don't think it's in the cards. :( Reggie Nelson didn't run particularly fast so it's possible he could drop to the Bears.
  6. I didn't see this and hope I can avoid seeing it for the duration of my life. ditto the Wisconsin dude's dislocated elbow. I'm glad I missed that one Saw it. It was gross.

  8. Love the angry throwing faces.
  9. Huh? Ever heard of Ladell Betts? There are countless other examples. In general, I think people misunderstand what kind of 40 times people run. 4.6 is acceptable for a RB. Heck, Emmitt Smith ran in the 4.6s and was a first rounder. Most of those guys were first round talents to begin with. Walker never was and running appreciably slower than most of the top tier running backs this weekend isn't going to improve his draft stock.
  10. I'm pretty sure that the Cubs didn't acquire Marquis at a great premium to trade him at the first possible opportunity.
  11. Skiles love affair with Griffin must end.
  12. Peterson runs an unoffish 4.38
  13. Yup. Seems like it's going to go: Russell Thomas Peterson Johnson at this point.
  14. Calvin Johnson just ran a 4.35. He weighs 239 pounds.
  15. Greg Olsen ran a 4.47 and a 4.45  Joe Thomas (reported by PFT) ran a 4.93 40 which is just absolutely ridiculous.
  16. Fixed. Yeah him too. It was hilarious to see Thabo jump out of Gilbert's way to avoid contact, avoid touching him completely, yet get called for the foul. That's the NBA for you, though.
  17. He makes up for this with his leg drive and 47.6 degree arm angle which is as close to perfect as it gets. As long as he can keep his trunk rotation consistent and keep his footwork solid, I think he can have a long and prosperous career.
  18. Someone looked at Gilbert Areneas. Better call a foul.
  19. I didn't watch the game, but when I saw the box scores on the ESPN ticker this morning, I thought "They must've misprinted Wallace's stats." I don't understand why he can't do that more often. He's big, strong, and judging by his defensive play athletic. Just put the ball in the hoop. Sounds stupid to say, but I don't understand why he can't do it more often. He was a giant out there last night.
  20. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/cs-070222bears,1,6045629.story?coll=cs-home-headlines With his playoff performance, maybe we can get a 2nd rounder for Jones. I'd be amazed if Thomas Jones fetched a 2nd rounder-the Colts couldn't even get a 2nd rounder for Edgerrin a couple years back, and neither could the Seahawks for Alexander. Maybe the market for runningbacks has changed dramatically since then, but I don't think so-it seems like there's even more teams with set runningbacks now then ever before. I doubt they'd get a second but stranger things have happened. The Jets gave a second for Doug fricken Jolly.
