  1. I agree with most of this. He looks really frustrated out there.
  2. I think my first shot will be for the Monday night game against the Rams. I will then go for the Lions game and then the Bills game. I hope I get get tickets to all three but, I suppose I'd be happy just to get one.
  3. Hrm, that's a good point. I wonder if I should try to get tickets to a less marketable game first? I could end up not getting ticks for the Monday night game and by the time I get around to other games, the cheapie's could be all sold out. Quite the conundrum.
  4. It's through ticketmaster correct?
  5. I will be working the phone and the web! Has anyone had a lot of success getting tickets right when they go on sale? If so, please advise. I was shut out last year. Really shut out? I was on-line in 2 minutes, processed and paid in less than 10 minutes? I guess I had some good luck. At least they go on sale at noon on a Saturday in the middle of the summer. Hopefully that drives some people away. Interesting, advised by my roomate last year, we tried by telephone and couldn't get through. I was planning on going the intarweb route this year and I'm glad that you had some success, this pleases me. I was to try to get the Monday night game and 2 others.

  7. Its okay, we all know Urlacher is a far superior athlete to Bettis :) Athlete yes. Football player no. Urlacher will be the better player when all is said in done. Let's be honest, Bettis averaged 3.9 YPC for the course of his carreer. That's awful. Bettis has been over since 1997. He had 3 "great" years surrounded by 10 mediocre ones. Ridiculous. Urlacher is good, to be sure, but better than the fifth all time leading rusher? Bettis didn't look very mediocre plowing Urlacher's overrated ass into the end zone. I don't see Urlacher getting a ton better than he is now, which is good, but not great and in my opinion, overrated. 3.9 ypc for his career. There is only one word for that: bad. The guy never ran for over 1500 yards in his career and only had 3 good seasons. The rest of his seasons were littered with very marginal play. 5th all time leading rusher doesn't mean that he was a great player it means he played for a long time. He averaged 1050 yards a season for god sakes. Bettis doesn't disserve to sniff the Hall of Fame. He is probably one of the most overrated player of the last 20 years. He'll make it in because of his overhyped persona as "the bus" and because of the plethora of yards he gained a tiny little bit at a time. Urlacher has been the best player on his side of the ball in the NFL (2005 Defensive MVP) Bettis hasn't. Oh yeah, but that one play, pretty sweet! I feel that Urlacher is as overrated as you feel Bettis is. Peter King, who I'd venture to say knows a little more about football than both of us, called Bettis a first ballot hall of famer. We'll see if Urlacher gets there. Oh, and Bettis rushed for 1665 in 1997. I don't put much stock in what Peter King says. Bettis will get into the Hall of Fame I just think he'll get in because of longevity and not for being "great." I'm not really sure how people can still say that Urlacher is overrated, but whatever. Edit: Oh yeah, I was wrong about the bolded. Misread http://www.pro-football-reference.com when I was on my way out the door.

  9. No one has said "OBP is the be all end all." It is however, extremely important. The ability to not make outs and it's impact on scoring runs isn't debatable. Playing time is not a good measure of productivity.
  10. and blanco can field well enough to offset his subpar skills as a hitter? Right. If only we could get Barrett and his 900+OPS off this team we could get a dude who could throw out some runners... World Series here we come!
  11. THE Draft guru Rich Gosslin said that the Bears had the best offseason this year. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/columnists/rgosselin/stories/071606dnspogosselin.16e2f4b.html Not sure I totally agree but it's nice to get some props.
  12. That boob Phillips said, on Mike and Mike this morning, that the Yanks "...must unload A-Rod because he will never reach his full potential in New York." A-Rod (2005): 321/421/1031, 48HR, OPS+ 167 ...... AL MVP!!!!! Phillips is a complete idiot. This guy was a baseball exec for a major market team? You have to be kidding me.

  14. That's what god would say about this season.
  15. Why is it ludicrous to expect that? They have upgraded on defense from last year and haven't lost a single starter on that side of the ball. No one is aging or in decline. The Bears have the easiest schedule in the NFL and they have improved their offense with the addition of Griese (In the event that Grossman breaks or bombs). They have upgraded their special teams and return games. 9 games? That's absurd and based on the fact that you are a massive Panthers homer.
  16. Welcome to the Twilight Zone, ladies & gents. Really, this is completely insane. Situation declining? Get a clue. Kerry Wood just went down for the season and Mark Prior is injured yet again. We could lose 100 games this year. Situation declining?
  17. I have heard that Sefolosha has looked really good so far in summer league play.
  18. What he said.
  19. Dude, the Rams are terrible now. Get a grip.
  20. Exactly. If "Jump" isn't the worst song ever, it's surely in the team picture.
  21. I'm with this guy.
  22. Astonishing that this actually happened.
  23. Fixed.
  24. Vance, your education is not yet complete. Today's lesson-Lyman Bostock. Bostock was an OF with the California Angels in the 1970's. He signed a long term contract. Bostock's 1978 season started off a disaster, with him batting only .150 for the month of April. Bostock went to Angels' owner Gene Autry and attempted to give back his April salary, saying he hadn't earned it. Autry refused, so Bostock announced he would be donating his April salary to charity. Thousands of requests came in for the money, and Bostock went through each of them, trying to determine who needed it the most. Tsk..tsk. Bahahaha. Well played. This is clearly the standard. I am convinced.
