  1. I hope they place him gently.
  2. I bet he didn't even hustle back to the dugout. We need to get rid of this jerk, STAT!
  3. Looks like he's heading back down to Earth.
  4. Pretty crazy that 3 games are going on right now.

  7. I was annoyed, but the "free pass" was because he had produced before, and I expected his numbers to improve by the time all was said and done. So for me personally, Ramirez is not a fit for this team. When it really matters, he doesn't show up or care. Bury him on a top 5 offensive team where he can fly under the radar. The Cubs need someone capable of being a carry-the-load guy behind Lee and they need a big time producer, so it has to come from 3B, LF, or RF next year. I once again feel the need to ask, what team were you watching in '03 and '04. Not to mention that the bolded is based on absolutely nothing. You simply can't make that evaluation with the information we have as fans.
  8. He should order a pitching camp.
  9. In a word, yes. Of course I'd like him to hustle but we can't really justify running our productive players off the team for something like that. It's not like we have a glut of power hitters. It's not like you can't win with a guy like Aramis. I would say Manny is similar in terms of his hustle (I could be wrong here) but I don't think anyone would mind if he was in Left Field for the Cubs. He should be criticized for his lack of hustle, but lets not pretend like it's killing the team or we should get rid of him because of it. As a franchise, we have much much bigger fish to fry.
  10. Couple baserunning gaffs? Aramis is lazy all season. I hate lazy players. I wish he'd get his act together cause I want him to stick around, but not if he's going to half-ass it and make cocky comments after one of his rare good games. After his rare good games? Have you even watched the Cubs the last 3 seasons? Aramis is the new whipping boy, it seems. Have you watched the Cubs this season? He was horrible when we needed him to be at his best. Now that the season is over, he decides to swing the bat good again. Thanks Aramis! This truely isn't even worth responding to but I will for some reason. I have watched many games this season. Aramis has the second highest OPS of any Cub. What am I missing? Maybe you can explain. Are you suggesting that he tanked the early part of the season on purpose? Do you hold players accountable for slumps, or is this just special treatment for Aramis because he doesn't hustle to first? Why has he suddenly decided to "swing the bat?" Hey, Barrett got suspended for 10 games when we needed him most (since some games are more important than others, I guess), let's ship him out of town too. That way, we can get rid of our 2 best hitters in one fell swoop.

  12. We're so good that we want to run one of our most productive players out of town for a perceived lack of hustle? Is this the same board where the "chemistry house cleaning" was met with near universal ridicule? Are we basing this on the same "Corey doesn't care and is uncoachable" information? I'm sure his overall productivity out weighs the couple of baserunning gaffs he makes over the course of a year.
  13. It's the curse of inept management!!!
  14. Possibly more than you would have assumed. "I'll be there," Briggs said. "I'm looking forward to this year. I'm more excited about playing football than anything. One thing that won't change is my ability to play football." Briggs revealed that he never seriously considered holding out of training camp. "It's football," he said. "Obviously I signed a four-year deal, and you honor your contract." Excellent news!!
  15. This should be a bloodbath.
  16. John Gilmore? How will we ever recover?
  17. Productive afternoon. Time to get drunk.
