  1. I don't think a single person thought Rex would be this good. He is a complete stud. I want to have his babies.
  2. Wow. I went to the game and the crowd was electric. Let's hear it for the Bears Secondary, which was completely dominant.
  3. Good effort. I'm not sure it's going to tell us much about Tillman though as the Bears do not rotate corner backs from one side of the field to the other. For example, the Cinci game, C. Johnson burned Vasher for a long touchdown when Vasher whiffed on his jam at the line of scrimmage. Steve Smith burned Thompson for one of those long TD's in the playoff game, etc. Tillman is at his best when covering big receivers and not as good when covering small speedy types. I still say Tillman is good, though. Maybe we can agree to disagree.
  4. Bad news guys. Per ESPN Radio A. Curry has been put on IR (foot). So much for me pimping him over Gage.
  5. Giving up only 10 passing touchdowns in one year is astonishing.
  6. There is no if's about it. The Bears secondary was by far the best secondary in the NFL last year. Calling Tillman average is silly. The guy is good, but not elite. He's the #1 CB for a reason. The reason the Bears bulked up the secondary is pretty obvious. Chris Harris was adaquate but not good. They were losing Jerry Azumah and Mike Brown had been injured the majority of the last two seasons. Also, if there was anything the playoff game showed us, it's that our secondary depth was a big weakness. I don't know. Maybe the Bears secondary get's torched this weekend. I don't see it happening though. The first 2 games the Bears were way up, forcing the other team to pass and they still haven't given up a touchdown.
  7. I really don't understand the hate for the Bears secondary. I'm not really sure what people expect. Other teams ARE going to complete passes. This is going to happen. People remember the last playoff game but forget that the Bears secondary was the best in the NFL last year and has only been improved. Manning Jr. is better than a washed up Azumah and Wesley is better than Chris Thompson. I think Manning is at least equal to Harris and probably a better pass defender. I'm not really seeing the beef here. Last year they gave up a passer rating of 61.2 (#1 in the NFL and 7 points lower than #2). They also only gave up 10 TD's (#1 in the NFL and 5 less touchdowns than the #2 team) while making 24 INT's. What more do you want? The Bears secondary is arguably the best in the NFL. If there was anything I'd be worried about on defense, it's the rush defense. We've been susceptible to delays and misdirection in the running game. We're giving up 4ypc good for 20th in the league.
  8. I agree. I do have to say that I did balk on this when I heard about Barrett's intra-scrotal hematoma.
  9. This confuses me. The first three points allowed were the result of a pick in the secondary that wasn't called and three of the other points were a result of a Rex interception that was returned into near field goal range. The defense has been rock solid. The Bears aren't going to shut out everyone and teams are going to get yards. The D has givien up 5 and a third points per game and they usually play better at home.
  10. I try not too get into this stuff too much, but I have to say, I'm thrilled that they didn't make it to the playoffs. I work with a bunch of loudmouth Sox fans who never hesitated to shove the Cubs failures in my face while gushing over the Sox. They are as quiet as church mice now.
  11. The Giants' secondary is awful. CB Corey Webster CB Sam Madison FS Will Demps SS Gabril Wilson NB R.W. McQuarters Not good. CB Vasher CB Tillman SS Brown FS Manning NB Manning, Jr Very good. Arguably the best in the league. It's going to be a different ball game passing against the Bears than it was passing against the Giants.
  12. Yeah, weird! Benson is a little down after not being used for a single play in a huge game? I'm really surprised that he's not as excited as the other guys. The guy in front of him throws up stinker after stinker and he doesn't even see the field, why should he be upset? He lost his starting job in the preseason because of injury and hasn't been given a shot to earn it back despite the awful performance of Thomas Jones. I would be pumped. What a jerk Benson is. /end rant. Seriously, I hate this stuff. A week before the season started Brad Biggs wrote some article about how the Bears looked "Over Confident" and didn't have a hard training camp. He concluded that they would have an awful and disappointing season. Hey, how's that working out Biggs? Well done. Also, why pile on Benson for being a malcontent and give Jones a pass. Did the offseason even happen? Is it a coincidence that Jones skipped the entire preseason and it stinking up the field?
  13. Bonds wouldn't come here but I'd take him in a second if he would.
  14. Anyone else excited for tonight's game?
  15. This is terrible advice. While Vick isn't good as an NFL QB, he's a solid fantasy QB. He averaged 18+ Fantasy points a game for the last two years. Any scoring system where rushing yards are valued around 15 to 10 yards/point Vick is going to be very solid. Damn good posting here. Vick has been a stud this year.
  16. Madden and Michaels were already hyping it during last night's clunker.
  17. This is going to be a tough one. Soldier Field is going to be rocking though. Seatle didn't play well against Detroit on the road and the Hawks usually dominate at home. Hopefully they'll stumble this weekend. T. Jones needs to stop dancing.
  18. I'm going to this one!!!!!
  19. I'm here to eat crow. The Vikings are WAY better than I thought they were. Great game, the Vikings have nothing to be ashamed of.
  20. Badger WR's are terrible.
  21. Wisky could only hold of the Ref's and Michigan for so long.
  22. Wow, that was brutal non-call and a ticky tacky personal foul. This is seriously a load of crap.
  23. Can't keep giving Michigan this short field.
  24. I'm glad you noticed that, for a minute I thought I was seeing things. These announcers have been pretty weird. They were all over him about that even in the halftime interview. They looked like a bunch of idiots.
  25. Illini QB is 1-10 for 11 yards. Yikes. I love how the announcers didn't notice the ref winding the clock and that's why Wisconsin called the TO.
