  1. Grossman is awful? Right. I meant as of late. :?: He was better than Manning up until the last game.
  2. I don't know if you were watching but it didn't look good. I would be suprised to hear that he broke his leg or blew out his knee. There was nothing he could do. It was just one of those things. He was carted into the locker room for Xrays. Joe Pa broke his leg and damaged knee ligaments. Really a shame. Hope he gets better soon. He's a tough mf-er for hanging out there as long as he did.
  3. Someone told me today that they should go to Greise if the Bears are losing at halftime to the Giants. Are these people high? I can't beleive that rational people could come to this conclusion. Football is one sport that really brings the stupidity out of people. Even people with no clue about sports have strong opinions on the Bears. Mike North this morning was talking about how last year Orton only "lost" us a couple of games, while Rex so far has "lost" one and should have lost 2 more. That sounds like pretty obvious, "say something to rile people up" kind of stuff. If only other people in the city didn't think the same way. A lot of people seem to think the Bears would be more successful with a "game manager" type QB. AKA a bad QB. Hey, Eckstein is gritty and clutch! If we say something enough, it becomes true!
  4. Jesus that had to be fun for the other guys. Who did you play? Some D-III team (UW-Stout I think). I feel bad for those kids. Who wants to be some teams whipping boy?
  5. Wow, really bad luck. He made some nice plays on special teams. No kidding...that was his first game back right? Yup. I think it was his first game back from a torn up knee.

  8. That is possibly true, but only because he sees so much repeated pressure, that he almost starts to assume it'll be coming when he keeps dropping back. I would say that he tends to get skittish when he gets repeated pressure and a few big pops.
  9. They are good against the run, but not amazing. They are pretty much the same as the Bears against the run and I wouldn't say the Bears are amazing by any stretch. Manning > Grossman I agree. When I compared the two it was in terms of their propensity to turn the ball over through the air. Eli only has one less INT than Rex. In that regard they are similar.
  10. I think the problem is mostly Turner relying too heavily on Grossman throwing deep whenever possible, and abandoning the run. Grossman's mechanical flaws only seem to be exposed once the offense abandons the run and starts taking heat. When Grossmans mechanics are bad teams know they don't have to pay as close attention to the short and intermediate routes because they know Grossman will not be accurate. This allows them to be more aware of the deep routes. When Grossmans mechanics are good and can connect on the quick slants and the short-in/out routes it opens up the deep ball/which is what he does best. Grossman's mechanics breakdown when he is under pressure just like 95% of the QB's in the league. His mechanics in the first quarter were fine and he was very accurate on the first scoring drive. The interception in the 4th quarter Grossman was not under pressure. He was just on his pack foot and he let his arm drop. He didn't step into the throw because of earlier pressure in that series. Whatever, we are splitting hairs here. Grossman simply doesn't have the expierence the handle the situations that Turner puts him in. His mechanics to breakdown at times in the game, on that we agree. To me it seems pretty clear when he starts doing the "Techmo Bowl" dropbacks and throws off the back foot, he is worried about the pressure.
  11. He should be able to go. He's dressed before, but was inactive recently. I think that's more of a case of them thinking they didn't need him, as opposed to him not being healthy enough to play. This should be a great opportunity to Bradley to get back on the path he was starting before the injury. God, I hope so. Gage's fumble on the first play of the second half was an absolute killer. He almost caused an interception on the goaline by running the wrong route. Bradley looked good before the injury. It's time for him to step up. Gage and Hester were my biggest goats of the game. I think Gage's fumble in the second half was absolutely catostrophic. If he doesn't fumble, the Bears start the second half with a big play right after finishing the first half with a big play. Instead, Gage fumbles and the Fins score a TD right after. Game over.
  12. Wisky wins their first exhibition: 82-33

Grossman's mechanical flaws only seem to be exposed once the offense abandons the run and starts taking heat. It's easy to see what happens when the other team see's that the Bears have abandoned the run. They either bring everyone or drop everyone back. Either way, Rex doesn't have the expierence to beat that right now. If the Bears can't keep the pass rush and secondary honest with the running game, their goose is cooked. They have to get out to an early lead. Panic seems to set in ANY time they are down (Both with the players and the playcalling), which is a concerning trend, to say the least.

  16. Run. The. Ball. It's no surprise that the play action (Which was the bread and butter of our early passing success) isn't working. We have been unwilling to establish a consistent running game. At the first whiff of trouble running the ball, we abandon it almost entirely. It's not coincidence that the first scoring drive had a healthy mix of running and passing. It's also no surprise that it was the drive that Rex looked the best. Being down by 10 points is no excuse to abandon the run. Every game that Turner has put the game on Rex's shoulders, we have lost. He's not Peyton Manning, he doesn't have the experience to carry the entire team. That much is obvious to every casual observer and should be obvious to Turner at this point. Put Benson in. Thomas Jones was only a slightly above average back before this season and it looks like he has regressed. His little jump stop isn't fooling anyone. When in the open field, don't do a jump stop to fake out no one, just keep running! It's really time to start working Benson into the game plan. He could really do no worse than what Jones is doing and would likely do better. Is there any chance Bradley could play in this game if Berrian can't go? Gage is a waste of space and is the softest "big" receiver I have ever seen. This guy is a liability all over the field and he should be relegated to the pine. My worry is Tiki. The Bears have had trouble stopping marquee running backs and Tiki is as good as it gets. Eli reminds me a lot of Grossman in that he is likely to throw a few up for grabs. If he doesn't have Burress available it could be a tough game for him. My brother, a Giants fan, told me on Friday that his worst fear was that the Bears would lose to the Dolphins. He thinks they are going to come hungry for blood. We'll see, but because of the Giants' injury problems, I feel that the Bears have a good chance of winning this one.
  17. Think the Giants are saying the same things about next week as we are? Geez. Some of the luster is coming off that game.
  18. Draft one for the 6th straight year? Should we ignore obvious needs out of pride? Whoops, I entered the post too early. I was supposed to add "I agree though." I definitely agree, they need to draft another S (and at this point, more WRs). The Zibikowski (sp?) bandwagon starts here!!

  20. We need a safety bad in next year's draft.
  21. Pretty hard to win when you turnover the ball 2 times inside your own 2 and throw a pick for a TD.
