  1. not only humorous, that's fantastic news I thought that was what happened, but it didn't look like it on the replay.
  2. Wow. We'll be regretting this one in a few years but at least they added a bat. I guess it really depends on what the Cubs end up spending on this team now and in the future.
  3. Wisconsin fandom is making us both root for Michigan. Don't you feel dirty? I'm actually rooting for OSU. I want a rematch of this game for the national championship. I think the only way that happens is a close W by OSU. does Michigan winning benefit the Badgers in any way? if OSU and UW have the same record, I assure you it will be OSU getting the second big ten BCS game. I think it would only matter for Wisconsin if OSU got blown away. Doesn't look like it's going to happen though. Probably wouldn't have mattered anyway but that was the only hope.

  5. Ginn is awesome.
  6. Blue
  7. Interesting tidbit: Rex has thrown more TD passes so far this season than Leftwich has thrown in any season in his career.
  8. You don't have to be good to be a backup. You just have to not be bad and not make mistakes. Especially with this team. That's the rub. What's the point of having a backup QB who isn't capable of doing anything? I mean, the guy barely had a 50% completion percentage. Mind boggling considering he only had 5.1 yards per attempt. Orton was horrible last year and he was terrible this preseason.
  9. The whole Orton vs. Rex thing from last year is looking a little silly now with Grossman on pace to throw for 3700 yards and 30 touchdowns.
  10. Thanks. I like skim. I'm not down with drinking fat.
  11. Good news guys! If we miss out on Drew my co-worker says it's no big deal because he only hits 22 homers and steals 5 bases.
  12. Yes. Probably more than there were the last time Chicago played there. NYG fans commented on how many fans were there. Yes, there were a lot of Bears fans tailgating as well. Going to the bathroom at halftime I got many a pat on the back from fellow Bears fans.
  13. Looks like Berrian is going to go this week. It's funny to think of the Bears having a logjam at receiver but they do.
  14. I don't get this shtick. The flavor of the month seems to be dissing the Bears D. The Bears lead the NFL in total defense by a pretty wide margin and also lead the league in pass defense. Which is amazing considering the leads they have had in some of these games. Even the weak spot, rush D, is top 10.
  15. That was you?!? http://forumimages.footballguys.com/style_emoticons/default/bowtie.gif LOL.....sorry Chocolate :) No Rex-bashing allowed, darn it!!! ...but colorful nicknames are. Will it be Turnoversaurus Rex next weekend? 8) I changed my avatar to avoid confusion.
  16. Oregon was #5 last year and didn't go. Cal was #5 in 2004 as well. What is this? Can't a guy try to post wild speculation as fact on an internet message board anymore? Sheesh.

  18. What do you think the effect was? Were the rain droplets knocking his throws off course? Was the water getting in his eyes? The ball would have been wet even when it stopped raining and it was pouring during the last drive in the first half. Rex's effectiveness is related to one thing: Pressure. In other news, Tom Brady got pressured last weekend too and he also sucked hard. Not saying Rex doesn't react worse than many others to pressure. But important to note that all QBs numbers start to look worse when the opposing D is able to get in their face-----even the mult-superbowl-winning variety. I agree. No quarterbacks are exceptional under pressure. I wanted to point out why, in the Giants game, he was bad early and better late. How did I get pegged as a Rex basher in this thread? I wore his jersey to the game!

The ball would have been wet even when it stopped raining and it was pouring during the last drive in the first half. Rex's effectiveness is related to one thing: Pressure. And? Your point? If Rex has enough time to throw, he's shown that he'll be very effective. If he doesn't have that time, it's a lot tougher. In Sunday's game, the change was the Line started making blocks and opening holes. The Giants were well-prepared (no surprise there) for the Bears, and the Bears made excellent adjustments to New York's game plan. I thought Lovie and the staff clearly made a lot of correct calls and got things going. Every RB, every QB, every WR and every offense lives and dies by its O-Line. That's just the way it is. They may not have the glamour, but they are incredibly important. When they fail, and allow penetration into the backfield, it's the QB, or the RB that takes the blame. In this game, Rex had one bad pick, and it was costly. TJ and Moose had bad fumbles that were much more costly. Personally, I thought Rex looked fine. Much ado about nothing here. I don't understand this post. I agree with you. I must not have been clear. I don't think the weather had anything to do with it.

  21. Wisconsin hasn't beat a team with less than 4 losses all year. You can only play the teams on your schedule. Their BCS ranking would normally qualify for a BCS game. The BCS takes SoS into account. I don't know what else to tell you. I understand what you're saying but they should at least play one BCS school team. They scheduled Bowling Green, Western Illinois, SD State and Buffalo. Plus, Syracuse can't even schedule Buffalo because teams like Auburn and Wisconsin offer them too much money according to the Buffalo AD. Exactly. Nothing against Wisconsin, but you need to schedule some good teams if you want to get BCS consideration. This isn't the NFL where you have little to no effect on the schedule that you play. This is the kinda thing that killed Kansas State for years. You guys are missing my point. I understand that Wisconsin scheduled patsies for their non-conference schedule. I'm not defending that. I'm saying that they would normally make a BCS game with the BCS ranking they are likely to have at the end of the season. They will probably finish around 6 because of matchups ahead of them and that's normally good enough to make it. Because Michigan and Ohio State are both great this year, they are going to get left in the cold. As a Wisconsin fan, that sucks. The strength of schedule really doesn't apply here at all. Edit: Also, if I'm not mistaken, if the Badgers finish 6th in the BCS, they will be the highest seeded team not to make a BCS bowl. I could be wrong, though. Oregon was #5 last year and didn't go. Sounds like I'm completely wrong then. Carry on. I was just saying it sucks to "qualify" for a BCS bowl game but not get to go to one.
