  1. 2-0 Cubs already. Somehow, I'm not surprised anymore.
  2. Five. 13 Sept thru 18 Sept 2010. Oh, great. Now you've done it.
  3. Because it's presented by BP?
  4. It's completely unacceptable that WGN didn't carry a single game in this series.
  5. Perfect spot for the guy with the .913 OPS imo Catchers bat 8th, dude. *sticks a toothpick in mouth*
  6. Come on !! Make this more interesting..... prove common sense is common !!! That's impossible.
  7. I know the talent level is nowhere near Major League, but it's still an encouraging sign that he's pitching for the first time in 4 years.
  8. Are run by clowns. If you're going to make fun of people, even if they deserve it, then I'm going to make fun of you for not using proper English. ;)
  9. I've batted against former major leaguers and high draft picts in non-professional leagues and it's neither terrifying nor awesome. When you are in the box it's see ball hit ball. Who is dealing is means nothing. That's not to say I was remotely successful either, b/c mostly I wasn't, but when i've been in the box it doesn't matter. Did any of them share a similar pedigree to Mark Prior I had a couple of AB's off Prior the summer after his senior year of high school. He was getting some innings in prior to starting his Freshman year with Vanderbilt. We were playing in an 18+ league in Nashville. I think he only threw 4 innings. If I remember correctly, I was going into my Junior year of college. That same day Joe Blanton was pitching for our team and I was catching. Looking back, I got to see the business end of a couple of pretty good pitchers. I Bought a car off of Brian Dorsett, looking back I got to see the business end of a really [expletive] catcher. I never even knew Dorsett played in the majors until my dad told me a few days ago.
  10. From what I can tell, Prior has pitched 5 innings, struck out 10, and allowed no earned runs since he signed with the Flyers. A stats page on their site would be nice.
  11. Slight correction. I would actually prefer a 46-game winning streak. The Cubs have 44 games left, and I forgot to include the 2-game streak they already have going.
  12. Bench Theriot for crying out loud. Are Fontenot and Baker even still alive?
  13. Don't worry, they're not going to get out of this inning with the lead. Castro thinks otherwise.
  14. Conte's mustache looks like it was drawn on that picture of him, and not drawn very well either.
  15. Yeah I hate this. I am currently in Northwest Indiana and don't get WCIU. I have MLBTV, but I am blacked out because I am too close. Is MLB ever going to address the blackout rules? No, because doing something about the blackout rules would make too much sense.
  16. Wow. The game hasn't started yet, and we're already on the 2nd page.
  17. Yeah. I don't know what I was looking at earlier. #-o
  18. the clinch of the division in 2008 at wrigley comes to mind. Yeah, that was great as well. Right in front of the Cardinals ... Only bad thing was that it was on FOX, so we didn't get to listen to Len call it. Len hasn't gotten to call a Cubs clinch yet.
  19. If the Cubs can win tonight, they'll be right back where they were yesterday since the Reds and Cardinals have both lost. Taking 3/4 from the Phillies would not be a bad way to start the second half.
  20. And Fukudome and Zambrano. But for some reason Theriot, Lee, Hill, Howry, and countless others are allowed to suck consistently with no recourse. All foreigners. Coincidence? Soto's from Puerto Rico, which is part of the US.
