  1. I so much want to type in the French word for goodbye but I am just at a loss............
  2. NEITHER IS THE CORRECT ANSWER ORANGE JUICE OJ is killer, man. He is not a killer but if he was here is how he did it..........................................
  3. I always thought his nickname was Fonzie. No that dude is Arthur Fonzerelli on Happy Days 8)
  4. Say I was just over at espn.com - did anyone know that Michigan is playing Ohio State this weekend?
  5. I agree and here's something far fetched to think about. On Baseball this Morning on XM the jeniuses there were advocating signing Soriano to play left because I quote Orestes Destrada (loosely) " Matt Murton after a hot first month was a disapointment the rest of the season so I would play Soriano in left and play this kid, this great kid the Cubs have Angel Pagan in centerfield" I emailed Baseball the AM and got this reply back from Mark Patrick:
  6. The same blurb you reference, says that the Marlins also said Delgado wasn't available either last year... and was traded 2 weeks later. What is not likely to happen is Willis being shopped. Won't stop them from listening. true. i still don't think the Cubs have the chips to get willis or cabrera Everyone I hear talking about it thinks Willis will be traded. The Marlins would like to keep their payroll in the 20 million range...................incredible I know

  9. I kind of suprised myself the other day and was able to listen to "The Show" for more than an hour. I usually find it unlistenable after about 5 minutes. On a related note the boys on "Baseball this Morning" today were saying that the Marlins are definitely going to trade Willis and hang on to Cabrerra.
  10. so...is he glad they re-signed him or what? and why is aramis suddenly the poster boy for the cubs' failures over the past three seasons? and why do people want to make him out to be a choker? does anyone remember the 2003 postseason? I've been doing all i can to forget it.
  11. Wow. I heard some talk on XM that he just wanted out of LA and may actually end up just taking more years somewhere else at 10 or 11 million per?
  12. It barely eclipses 'goodbye dusty day' just because Aramis was so crucial. Doesn't anyone remember the day Macias was dfa'd or the day Neifi got traded?? Those were good days............. On the trib site the have a poll on whether you like the the wood signing the Aram signing, both or neither. 6% of the morans voted that they liked neither :?
  13. Yep I'm guessing that deal took weeks for Hendry to put together - probably wasn't answering Aram's phone calls that whole time either.

  15. When Aram is a Dodger next week my point will be more clear. You don't have a point. No. You just don't agree with my point. Firing a 2nd dart at the Wade Miller board before securing Aram irks me. You do realize that negotiations can take place with several players at once, don't you? It's not as though ironing out a deal for Wade Miller is taking 14 hours a day. I'm assuming that Hendry has some kind of assistant - it's possible that Hendry would give someone else parameters and let them sign people like Wade Miller with minimal direction.
  16. Our hope doesn't like with Ramirez resigning. It could still be a long cold winter with him returning, and the team could still suck. Resigning Ramirez does not improve the team, and this team needs to be improved. They have to resign Ramirez, then still make major improvements. I agree we need to do much more than resigning Aram but I have little or no confidence that JH can do enough to make this team a contender without resigning him. That would leave him with the task of signing or trading for 2-3 impact bats and 2 impact pitchers. I don't see that happening.
  17. I am funneling all of what little optimism I have toward the hope that Aram signs this week. If he does not sign by the 11th I believe he is gone and it is going to be a long cold winter.
  18. I think the Seibu Lions would see that as a huge slap in the face. They'd be out millions in the posting fee they would receive, and they would have to pay Matsuzaka's salary for another year. I just don't see a Japanese player disgracing his team like that. I'm sure Boras probably said something like this, but probably just an empty threat IMO. I didn't think about it from that angle......I would hope you are right. I wouldn't put much past Boras though.
  19. Sorry if this has been posted before but I heard the other day that Boras is not uncomfortable letting Matsuzaka pitch 1 more year in Japan, after which he will be a "true" free agent eliminating the posting fee. As the system works this year Boras has only one team to negotiate with and only 30 days to do it. I think he prefers to work with multiple teams to drive up the price.
  20. Yeah I can see it now, and I miss game 163 because newly divorced Reese Witherspoon is busily feeding me grapes one at a time and fanning me. 8) if we're doing this, we might as well do this. reese witherspoon is not even close to acceptable for that role. and "fanning" is definitely the wrong gerund. oh Reese is acceptable for any role as far as I'm concerned!
