  1. Well if the fans wanna see him, he should play. Truthfully he should give up his starting spot to A-Ram if he leads the voting..
  2. All-Star balloting's exciting races end tonight at midnight With All-Star balloting ending tonight, there remain hotly contested races in both the American and National League for starting positions for the 76th All-Star Game, to be played Tuesday, July 12 at Comerica Park in Detroit. Fans can vote exclusively at MLB.com or ameriquest.com until midnight tonight to determine the starting lineups. Both the starting lineups, selected by fans, and reserves for the American and National League All-Star teams will be announced exclusively this Sunday night, July 3, at 7:00 p.m. ET on the Major League Baseball All-Star Game Selection Show Presented by Chevrolet on ESPN. In the National League, first base and shortstop are coming down to the wire with the leaders flip-flopping positions since the last results were announced on June 28. First baseman Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals, who was leading Derek Lee of the Chicago Cubs on June 28th, now trails by 49,110 votes. At shortstop, David Eckstein of the St. Louis Cardinals, who trailed Cesar Izturis of the Los Angeles Dodgers, now leads by 337,131 votes. In the American League, Boston Red Sox outfielder Johnny Damon, who was in fourth place in balloting on June 27, has moved past Seattle Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki of the Seattle Mariners by 126,556 votes. [Lee should be leading.. But it wont even matter.. They are both starting, lol]
  3. Right after giving up a hit to Nunez, then a hit to the "weak hitting catcher" named Molina scoring Nunez (making it 7-4 Cards).. Other than that he looked good.. Especially in the 9th going through Al, Jimmy, and Mabes.
  4. Yeah that's what I see.. Tavarez the 1st choice with King the 2nd.. That'd be my guess anyway..
  5. Cardinals put closer on 15-day disabled list April 27, 2005 ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis Cardinals closer Jason Isringhausen was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday with a strained right abdominal muscle. Isringhausen was injured in the ninth inning of a 5-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday. He has gone 7-for-7 in save opportunities this season, allowing one run in 8 1-3 innings with six strikeouts and six walks. He had made a full recovery from offseason hip surgery, an injury that hindered him much of last season even though he tied the franchise record with 47 saves. Manager Tony La Russa said Isringhausen likely will be sidelined two weeks. In the meantime, setup men Julian Tavarez and Ray King were expected to get the bulk of the closer duty. To replace Isringhausen on the roster, the Cardinals recalled left-hander Carmen Cali from Triple-A Memphis. [La Russa has said it'll be a closer-by-commitee]
  6. Strained Right Abdominal Muscle is the early word.. We'll know more tommorow.. If this is an oblique injury he'll be out probably 2-4 weeks. Izzy said "We'll see how I feel tommorow and I'll get checked out." Barry Weinberg (Cards Trainer) Interview on Midwest Sports Report: Izzy - Strained Right Abdominal Muscle. Re-examine tommorow. Keep it iced and we'll find out. - That did not sound good the way his interview was. He didnt seem like he wanted to answer anything about this. In other news - Reggie Sanders got plunked on the hand but X-Rays were negative and he should be ready to go tommorow.
