Ok that's annoying. -
The control was my biggest concern. Too much missing off the edge and not getting swings. He is going to occasionally get hard, especially against stronger lineups, and has to be able to minimize the damage by not putting guys on. He got away with it today.

Hendricks survives 5 innings, and he was mostly ok, but I still get the feeling that the way he pitched isn't going to fly against 90% of MLB teams.

Kyle at 66 pitches with 0 outs in the 4th. This is probably his last inning, at best.

If Caissie gets a shot, it won't be at Happ's expense, and I imagine it would largely be as a DH.

We went to machine pitch this year for 7 and 8 year olds and it is so much nicer to get the kids seeing good pitches to hit.

My son's team doesn't have a single pitcher who can throw consistent strikes. I sympathize with Pirates fans.

In the past, rain delay theatre would typically involve checking back in with the broadcast team every 30-60 minutes for an update. Now it seems like they just disappear for the entirety of the rain delay and nobody provides any updates until the game is about ready to resume.

On the other hand, they will be on their 3rd reliever already in the 5th inning, so there's that.

I can't find specific verbiage related to rain delays and the 3 batter minimum. There is an exception for resumption of a suspended game, but I'm not clear whether rain delays are included there as well.

I'm not sure what I expect a Connor Joe to look like, but it certainly isn't that.
