  1. I predict Option C - None of the above Outside of Horton, there are still no clear impact prospects in the system. The Cubs already took their shot at a big, long term deal, and we got Swanson out of that. I don't think Jed is going to seriously compete for any of the real top tier star free agents (and there aren't many who will be available in the near future to begin with). Jed has also shown an unwillingness, or inability, to turn Minor League depth into significant MLB contributors. We are stuck with this "core" for the next few years, and the hope that somehow a few of the minor league pieces will be able to supplement them enough to produce a mid-level playoff contender.
  2. Who is the alternative that Jed is giving him? Are we ready for another Mastrobuoni run? This roster is no good.
  3. To the surprise of nobody, the under takes it.
  4. Turned a double play into a potential big inning and likely loss. Nice job again Cubs defense.
  5. Too many non-competitive pitches from Leiter lately.
  6. Over/under 4 batters before the bullpen gives up a run?
  7. I assume that's it for Steele. That was a really nice and encouraging performance. Good catch by Happ. I thought it was fairly routine off the bat, but that ball really died on him.
  8. Did Nike/Fanatics design that jersey patch, because it looks about as professional as the new jerseys do.
  9. Quite a few, but not as many as you would think.
  10. Take it out on the ump Dansby. That's why you can't hit, I'm sure of it.
  11. These Cubs starting pitchers deserve so much better. If it isn't the bullpen, it's the offense. If it isn't the offense, it's the bullpen. But the starters have been consistently good.
  12. "On base machine" Madrigal fails to get on base again.
  13. Until proven otherwise, Porter Hodge is a thing.
  14. Eh, I get the argument, but he clearly went out of the baseline to avoid the tag. Just more stupid baserunning.
  15. When was the last Cubs home run? It was probably like 2 days ago, but it feels like they haven't hit one in 2 months (including with the wind howling out at Wrigley).
  16. Only extensions for guys we really don't want to extend.
