Where was the Catcher in all this? I can't believe nobody walked down the first base line with Lee. -
why are you so intent in defending young? I'm not defending Young, I'm just looking at it from an objective perspective and Lee looks like the bad guy in this one. No he doesn't Lee was the first one to throw a punch. if there was nothing racial said, it's Lee's fault, plain and simple. Go cheer for the Padres. It has nothing to do with cheering for the Padres. I want the Cubs to win, but I'm not watching the game with my Cubs blinders on. The visual evidence is pointing toward Lee starting the fight without any significant verbal provocation.

It looked like Young asked if Lee was alright, then motioned him toward first base, and said "I'm not throwing at you." I hate to say it, but I don't see anything that Young did wrong and I have no idea what set Lee off.

Reading Young's lips, I could have sworn he just said "I'm not throwing at you."

I want Zambrano to keep pitching the way he has and not worry about hitting someone.

I'll be very curious to find out what Young said. There was definitely one comment that triggered Lee to throw a punch.

I don't think Wells said anything, but there was a quote from Peavy basically saying that he didn't appreciate Soriano showing them up and that he doesn't show up hitters when he strikes them out, or something to that effect.

Well, I have to agree with Peavy's comments on this one. There was no reason for Soriano to stop and stare at his home run yesterday. I'm not saying that it warrants a beanball war, but Soriano's reaction yesterday was worse than Bonds or Sosa.

Theriot may not be hitting .320 anymore, but I still see a patient hitter who always battles and knows how to play the game. The Cubs are winning because of players like Theriot and Fontenot, not in spite of them, and it's about time the Cubs embrace some of these hard-nosed players instead of the toolsy guys that never seem to pan out. I'm not sold on Cedeno being a better fielder than Theriot either. Any middle infield change right now would be insane.

Wouldn't it make more sense to send our 13th pitcher down when Ramirez is ready? Pagan is useful as a late innings defensive replacement, something that none of the Cubs other reserve outfielders have going for them.

I was at the game yesterday. I'm not sure if was heard on TV, but when Jacque made his out pinch hitting the entire crowd booed him very loudly. I think that WGN and Comcast do their best to cut away from that if they can, but I could be wrong. You sure they weren't saying "Aloooouuuuu!" I was saying Boo-urns.

A well-deserved warm ovation. In the past couple weeks, I can only remember Jacque having 2 hits and both of them were questionable. What a useless roster spot.
