I mentioned earlier in the thread that I have full confidence that he will let the Cardinals roll over in that series. Aren't LaRussa and Piniella good friends? That's my only hope is that LaRussa will feel obligated to "maintain the integrity of the pennant race."
Just because Theriot calls the ball doesn't make it his. Outfielders overrule infielders because it is generally easier for an outfielder to make the play. Hence, Soriano's ball.
What part of that play makes that not the left fielder's????? The same thing that caused Jones to make an amazing diving catch a few weeks ago when it should have been a routine left field flyout.
Err, what happens if the Cubs win? Well, conceivably could be overrturned. Good thing the Commissioner doesn't have any rooting interest in the Central race. I mean, uhh...
Yes, except with a runner on 1st base and 2 outs the most important thing is to keep the ball in front of you. It's not worth the risk to try for a spectacular catch in that situation.
Not really... At this point of the season I look more toward the loss column, and we would be 1 game back... and with Milwaukee's opponents I don't see them losing many more games until possibly the San Diego series.
I've been listening to quite a few Milwaukee games and I like Bob Eucker a lot, but sometimes the game is hard to follow. He tends to go into "Hawk mode" when something negative happens and it can be hard to tell what's going on.
