  1. Oh man, that scared me to death. Can you imaging PCA and Tucker both getting hurt in a full speed collision?
  2. I know it's early, but Horton has been disappointing so far. I expected mistakes, but I guess I expected him to have better raw stuff. He just doesn't look like a future top of the rotation type guy.
  3. Rich Hill is attempting another comeback with Kansas City. Come on, Rich! You are my last hope to not be older than every active MLB player, at least for a short time.
  4. He surely influenced the decision by some non-zero amount.
  5. Why is Happ not on the IL yet? Get Alcantara up here for a couple weeks and make sure Happ is fully healthy when he comes back
  6. It's unfortunate that multiple injuries (Steele, Imanaga, Assad) have forced Ben Brown into the rotation indefinitely, because I still think he ultimately belongs in the bullpen and could be one of the missing pieces at the back end.
  7. So you're going to take your above average defensive first baseman and gold glove caliber second baseman and replace them with a below average defender at first base and a guy who has barely played second base in years? And then put Nico at third where he doesn't have the arm strength for the position? No thanks.
  8. I think it's fair to say the team was never as good as they appeared for the first month of the season, but is still plenty good enough to be the prohibitive favorite to win the Central.
  9. Welp, they didn't get swept, and go home still in first place with the insanely difficult part of the schedule finally out of the way.
  10. This is stupid. The guy is a starting pitcher, so let him start the game. If he only makes it 3-4 innings so be it, but at least he would be in his normal routine.
  11. I think it has always been the case with Boog and the Cubs knew that going in, but JD really seems to have started taking more trips off over the last few seasons. Having one guy who takes games off isn't necessarily a huge deal, but it's tough when you have a pair of announcers who are seemingly alternating their time away.
  12. Mark Prior came after Juan Cruz.
  13. This is exciting. It has been a LONG time since the Cubs have had a legitimate SP prospect debut.
  14. How far is Shaw from buying the extra year of service time?
  15. I wouldn't be scared to throw Horton against the Mets. You can try to find the "perfect spot" for a guy's debut all day long, but he still has to make pitches no matter what team he is facing. He is lined up perfectly and appears to be ready, so give him a shot.
  16. Good job, good effort. Don't get swept by the Mets, then move on to the soft part of the schedule.
  17. This is gonna be an epic comeback when the Cubs win 15-14.
  18. There really is no role for Pressly in this bullpen. Hodge should clearly be the closer, but do you want Pressly pitching in tight games in the 7th or 8th? He's not a multi inning guy, and he probably can't go multiple days in a row. So what do you do with him? At this point, I would think he goes on the DL for awhile and then some rehab appearances in Iowa.
  19. Remember when JD said Pressly has a good ERA? That was like 5 minutes ago.
  20. To be fair, the Giants had a runner on 2nd with no outs and didn't score.
