  1. Didn't like it then. Don't like it now.
  2. That was entirely predictable.
  3. That helps put things into perspective. The way everyone talks about Bedard, one could be led to believe that he is the best draft prospect of the last 50 years and the future best player in the NHL, but it seems like that would be a stretch.
  4. This is ok. He's a leadoff hitter, and also probably the best pure contact hitter on the team. This is not a spot where power is a necessity. Happ's relative lack of power is more problematic than Hoerner's. He is fine as a Left Fielder, but isn't the ideal middle-of-the-lineup hitter. I wasn't big on making a long term commitment to Happ, but the length and amount of his extension was reasonable, so I think he is a piece that the Cubs can work around. It appears this is something we are just going to have to live with, but hopefully some more power comes along with those hot streaks. Swanson's OPS is being propped up by a very high OBP, but that isn't sustainable. This, to me, is where the biggest problem lies. The Cubs made a big commitment to Suzuki as their starting Right Fielder and so far he hasn't shown himself to be the power threat that they need. The emergence of Bellinger has taken some of the pressure off, but Suzuki has still been a big hole in the middle of the order for most of the season. If that doesn't change, the offense will continue to struggle and the lack of power will continue to be an issue.
  5. I blame YOU! 👆
  6. I am admittedly a relatively uninformed hockey fan, but can someone explain why Kane is or isn't a good comp for Bedard? They would seem to have similar size and skillsets, but Bedard is being labeled a "generational talent." While Kane has been a great player for a very long time, I don't know that I would put him in that category. So is there something about Bedard that makes people think he is another level above Kane, or is the comp simply not a valid one at all?
  7. Also, they lost a run because of a hamstring injury. That's the way things have been going lately.
  8. In West Virginia, is he though?
  9. I'm still refusing to bookmark this new URL, so hopefully the old domain gets transferred back soon.
  10. I can't really say. I always go to StubHub first, but that is primarily because that is what I have experience with. MLB has switched over from StubHub to SeatGeek as their official ticket reseller starting this year, but I'm not sure how many sellers have actually migrated over. I tried listing a couple games on SeatGeek, but I didn't like the options. For example, my tickets are on the aisle but I couldn't find any way to indicate that on the listing. My tickets sat unsold on SeatGeek for awhile, so I pulled them and sold on StubHub instead. I imagine the inventory will start to shift more toward SeatGeek over time, but I don't know how much of it already has.
  11. My tickets are all spoken for on those dates, but from my experience as a ticket seller, you would probably be better off buying on StubHub or SeatGeek than directly through the Cubs. Especially for the weekday game, if you wait until a few days before the game, there will almost certainly be Season Ticket holders trying to dump their tickets below face value.
  12. I don't care what the stats say. If you try to convince me that Tucker Barnhart has a hit this year, I'll call you a liar.
  13. Nah, I'm with you. That at bat seemed destined to end up with a hit anyway.
  14. With the exception of Nico in the 13th, it's dumb that we keep getting our big lumbering oafs as the Manfred men.
  15. Angels broadcaster Wayne Randazzo had a nice rant a few weeks ago both before and after the Angels lost in a similar situation.
  16. I'm a little surprised the runner didn't get doubled off on that one.
  17. Normally I would agree, but with Wisdom having a 50% chance of striking out there, I have no problem with the bunt.
