  1. If defending Albert is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
  2. Feel free to distribute them to suspect Cub players.
  3. That's because they can relate to Eckstein. They see him and 5' 7" of glory and say "He's my size, I can be him".
  4. Pujols don't need no stinkin apologists, mang.
  5. Does anyone else find it humorous that everyone's tossing out their "marquee" FA outfielder they got in the offseason. I'll see your Burnitz, your Wilson, your Jones, and raise you Encarnacion!
  6. I've done standing room once at new Busch. The key is to get there early and hold your place. You can stand right behind home plate if you play your cards right (no pun intended). Great view! The ushers are very vehement about not "crossing the yellow line" and will berate you if you do. You definitely get the feeling of being a second class citizen, but it's what you make of it.
  7. For Cardinals talk, http://www.gatewayredbirds.com.
  8. Point taken, tiger. I've seen some Cards with ridiculous hatred for anything Cub.
  9. Give it a rest already. You are wrong and crossing the line. Darryl Kile's death was attributed to natural causes, and there was also a family history of similar problems. No wonder there are so few rival fans that post here (with the exception of Is Pedro There).
  10. BTW, I've been here since Feb. of 05, just wanted to let you know we started an "anti-Cards Talk" web site at http://www.gatewayredbirds.com. My timing's probably bad, but I've always been welcome here (kind of)
  11. No way does Bonds bother with a HR tonight, it's way too late for his entire fan base to appreciate.
  12. Is Dempster ever going to get a save again?
  13. Ponson left the game Sunday after the 3rd inning with right elbow discomfort. No word yet how serious it is.
  14. Who's getting bumped from the rotation when Prior and Wood come back?
  15. Yeah, for the few that haven't figured it out yet, we're pretty one-dimensional offensively without Rolen and Edmonds reaching career norms.
  16. So Albert is going to hit more than 100 homeruns, and a pitching staff that finished second then first respectively in the past two seasons won't? We shall see., you are quite the diplomat, wolf. I am still waiting for the other shoe to drop on our pitching going on three years later. Believe me - you are far from the only one on this board waiting for that. The difference is, my comment was made in jest.
  17. So Albert is going to hit more than 100 homeruns, and a pitching staff that finished second then first respectively in the past two seasons won't? We shall see., you are quite the diplomat, wolf. I am still waiting for the other shoe to drop on our pitching going on three years later.
  18. This isn't about the Wolf. This is about the tire spinning that is this thread. I'd rather bide my time in this thread than read the hurtful things Mike Scott's saying in the other thread.
  19. Dare I follow up into this thread? From an opposing viewpoint, D-Lee last year defended his teammates against booing and didn't show up opposing pitchers throughout an MVP-calibre year. No one had a problem with D-Lee. . . okay, I have to leave before I get too embroiled in this argument. Hey, I said I was torn. But good for D. Lee!
  20. Lidge owned the Cards until the Pujols HR, 1.01 ERA, .138 BAA.
  21. Dare I enter this thread? I was telling a friend at the game last night that I'm torn on Albert's off field actions. On one hand, I'm hating the bat flipping and showboating, but on the other hand his comments about booing Encarnacion and Izzy were pretty stand up. You're risking the ire of your fans when you condemn their actions and rather than just bask in his great start, he stuck up for two underperforming guys. One says individual, the other says team. And he's always the first guy out of the dugout congratulating other guys.
  22. A lot of Cubs fans I know give no credit to the Cardinals becuase of the injury excuse. I get sick of it. I'd like to see what the two teams could do completely healthy for an entire season. I also feel bad for good guys like Lee and good fans who have to go through this kind of frustration. But the douche bags I feel no sympathy for. We've kicked your butts the last 2 years head to head even with injuries. Unfortunately, head to head only counts for tiebreakers.
