  1. Apparently they're streaming the I-Cubs v. Albequerque game today for free via Cubs.com. All of April's games will be shown at no cost. Couldn't find any info on who is pitching today. Cross your fingers that it's Gooz.
  2. Try accessing it from today's MLB scoreboard page. You may get the Reds audio but you can switch to the Cubs from there.
  3. Don't forget that the Cubs are 1-0 in the 2006 regular season when Bruce Miles posts the lineups! Well done, DJAXX !! Yeah, no pressure, Bruce. ... but you better produce. If we're only up 1 in the seventh I hope to hear that you're warming up in the pen with a ferocious 64 mph fastball. And with all the writing/typing, maybe your fingers could potentially form one hell of a knuckler.
  4. i thought it was just me and my mac. Gameday Audio is killing me right now. I couldn't sleep last night and just kept watching Cubs clips on youtube.com. In the words of the great Kip Dynamite: "I'm getting really T.O.'d." BRASKY is a ten-foot tall beast man that goes by the name of Murton. ... TO MATT MURTON!
  5. Atta boy, Barrett. Can we get this guy a good nickname? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the man wants to be an Ultimate Fighter someday. This practically demands a nickname.
  6. ...TO BILL BRASKY! First bar patron: Hey, do you fellas know a guy by the name of Bill Brasky? Second: Yeah, I know Bill Brasky. He's a 10 foot-tall beast-man, who showers in vodka, and feeds his baby shrimp scampi. Third: Best damn trader on the floor. Second: He orchestrated the merger between UNICEF and Smith and Wesson. Third: Brasky went public with his own buttocks and made 7 million. First: To Bill Brasky.
  7. Anyone else listening through GameDay Audio? They've really enhanced the GameDay interface. The other side of that coin is that I'm using GameDay while at work. So I got that going for me .... which is nice.... IT'S IN THE HOLE!
  8. I'll gladly second that. I have bleacher seats for that game.
  9. Is this a split squad for the Angels today, Bruce? Thanks for all of the info. Any talk on the waiver wire, i.e., what type of player Hendry is on the lookout for? (And Bruce has left the building before I could submit my post ... my stupid job obligations. They just don't pay me enough to keep me from distracting myself with reading and yammering about Cubs baseball.)
  10. He was there yesterday so I assume so... Would somebody please put that man out his misery ??? The guy lives through anything. He was hit by a car a few years ago and he's still going strong. Any idea's how old the dude is? There was an article on him not long ago - I'm guessing the 2003 season or thereafter - and he's in his early 60's.
  11. I am certain that most, if not all, regularly check out The Heckler's online edition, but I wanted to throw this out there regardless. Hilarious article. Be sure to check out Felix Pie's "5 Tools" article, too. http://theheckler.com/index.php?page=0000-DH-06-03-13&idrub=65&idsite=1
  12. Ragarding your sig, have you tried the Fusion? Greatest razor ever IMO. I'm working with a patent attorney to develop my 8 blade razor. It will be called "The Ocho" and will revolutionize the way you shave. It will even be strong enough to trim your dog. Team USA offense could use some of the S. Africa pitchers right now. I think the producers of Dodgeball might already have a patent on that. I like the (sino) Korean version of eight: Pal But by arguing their patent claim, they would be forced to admit they produced the movie Dodgeball. Kind of a lose-lose situation.

  14. Why would anyone want to sign with them? He's got Rosenhaus as an agent and the guaranteed money makes him one of the $$$$ earners in NFL history. Bottom line from Gordon Gecko: Greed is good. I'll take that under, too, BeerHere. Chipper just parked one in the stands for team USA. Randle El just signed with Redskins.
  15. 10-1 st game so I figure this is permissibly off-topic: pop-in from the NFL wire. Edgerrin James of the Colts just signed with the Cardinals. Over/under on games until Peyton throws his new RB under the bus after a poor performance?
  16. Assuming you're living up to your forum handle and waving for another beer, I would strongly advise not gnawing your arm off. How else are you going to click "refresh" on the game threads when there's no audio. IU - 44, UW - 39 9 1/2min left in 2nd half. Dear God let us salvage our season with some post-season wins.
  17. SO, anyone interested in heading over to the Gurnee Cracker Barrel on opening day to cheer Barrett on as he eats his mashed taters?
  18. Santo in good shape coughing and sneezing into the mic. Him and Red Kerr would be fantastic together with Red eating and Ron coughing into the mic. God I have missed baseball.
  19. More Dempster (a la More Cowbell?): My buddy works for the Rockford tv station and called me yesterday to detail some of the Cubs Caravan tour stop. He was filming and met all the players. He said they filmed four takes with Demp for a commercial promoting their local basketball show. Dempster was hilarious. Apparently Demp did one take in spanish which was quickly dismissed as unsuitable for airing. He had no problem approaching Dempster and said he was outgoing, laid back and nice. He also noted that Juan Pierre, though small, has huge shoulders. I also heard a story where some of the Bears wandered into some poetry reading place not long ago after a few cocktails. I only remember Tommie Harris specifically being mentioned, but apparently they did some readings at the mic and were funny.
  20. First, Muntjack, nice avatar. Let's not jump all over Tejada just because he's new slang. Honestly we need to move Corey before we bring in another batter who has good potential for a high OBP only to be outdone by swinging away like he's swatting at flies with tooth floss. I'd take Trot Nixon and see how long we could wait out the Javier Vazquez situation before going all in for Tejada. We don't need to unload the farm just yet.
  21. Buck and McCarver were par for being horrible. I'd say the worst was when the pre-game crew absolutely silenced Ernie Halwell in a manner that was about as smooth as a glass-shards versions of a slip-n-slide. I mean if they can allow McCarver to waste time by throwing out some incredibly poor mixed metaphors then they can allow Halwell to wax nostalgia. Classless. I hate Fox Sports programming ... and don't even start with the over-produced commercial tie-in formatting. I nearly threw up in my mouth on a few occasions.
  22. Just so you know, Pie probably won't be a leadoff hitter when he is in the majors. At least he shouldn't be one. are there really rumors that they want to bring Pie up? why not, afterall, the last time they rushed a blue chip centerfielder to the majors it worked out great. They had planned on bringing Pie up before he got hurt, which is why Greenberg was called up instead. Expect Pie to be playing in Wrigley fairly soon. :x I'm by no means throwing an opinion out there re: Pie. The hype/chatter that has been circulating around Felix is becoming hard to ignore, and I do believe Hendry was looking to infuse a little youthful ambition and energy via a Pie, Murton call-up. While I would hope that the Cubs be circumspect in how they handle Felix it's unfair to hang a "potential bust" sign on him because his situation parallels Corey's as a young player. By all accounts Pie appears to be a bit smarter/more mature of a ballplayer than Corey, i.e., more aware at the plate, considerate of the situation/runners on base, ... able to vary his swing. Pie can hit for power but also slaps the ball and carries a good OBP. While it may be true that they don't convert him to a leader there's a definite possibility, if not a likelihood. I could see him batting #2 with Walker leading off. I don't think Hairston will be around. The Cubs are reportedly disappointed in his baseball IQ, and it's been reported that he's missed signs, evidenced poor decision-making, etc. I doubt his future's in the outfield, as well. He seems to have a poor read on the distance balls carry out there. Pie will be a gold glove caliber CF. I wouldn't mind seeing Corey move to right or left. Hendry surely won't trade Corey this year (his value's abysmal), and if he shows enough improvement you can bet Hendry will hold on to him. Maybe throw Murton or a veteran in the remaining outfield slot. Anyway, I've rambled. Long-time reader, early poster via RealGM boards for the Bulls. Appreciate the discussions/threads I've read here. Fire away.
