    The other thing in his article - he would like to switch Lee and ARAM - move Lee to 5th. That would work out great, have our best hitter hit less times per game....

    did he really say this - and really mean it? Isn't the purpose of the DH so that the pitcher does not have to bat, and doesn't that take away most of the pinch hitting situations? If we have to pinch hit for a starter, that says wayyyyyy too much

    I'll bite...How??? By not offering Extra Innings. thanks for answering for me - because they did not offer EI, I did not purchase it and am glad now that I did not switch to DirectTV either. I remember last year at the beginning of the year, so excited to watch every Cubs game, DVR them if during the day and watch them at night. What a waste of time and then by June I was not interested... And golf rules! :P

    call me crazy - but if Marquis ends up 16-3 with a 2.60 ERA, we have to close to being in it...and he would have to close to Cy potential. Boy, Marquis and Cy Young - never thought those words would be used in the same sentence Except the sentence, "Jason Marquis will never win a Cy Young." I actually thought as I was writing that there would be someone who was smart enough to come up with that sentence...

    If it is close, maybe we can work out a trade for Trachsel just for the series to come in an pitch - he likes giving up memorable homers...

    I guess I am shocked that he can bring it at 80+mph left-handed. I mean, how fast can you throw normal-handed? I suppose that I could throw close to 70 or so right handed, but would be lucky to make it across the plate lefty. And yes, I am shocked that Dusty did not try to make him throw lefty on those blow-out days...

    Okay, I am taking this with a grain of salt, obviously because of the second half of the title - but last night Baker was talking about Zambrano and how much of a "pure athlete" that he is. He was saying that the day after he pitches sometimes he would come out and throw batting practice left-handed. Is this true? Have I just totally missed something? Baker was talking about how he can run it up there somewhere just above 80mph. I was like, what? Anyways, I hope this is not an old topic, but this is maybe the most shocking thing I have heard if it is true.

    can't imagine why, given our lights-out closer and our stellar record in close games Actually Dempster was a very shaky closer last year and far from lights-out. Also our record is one run games is actually 0-6, no where near stellar. In fact you could say its the exact opposite of stellar awesome the lack of detecting sarcasm...

    I have been saying this for some time. I live in central Kansas and our provider does not have the RSTN and so my kids can never see a Royals game. It simply does not make sense. And they wonder why there are no fans that show up in the stands...Could it be that they have not done anything worthwile to develop the future fans. I guess my kids are Cubs fans by default, because that is all I talk about. But if they were to be able to watch Royals games often, could they not learn to like them. That is how I became a Cubs fan when I was a kid - watching WGN everyday to see baseball. It is depriving my children of having that same opportunity that I have and it is stupid! Maybe that should be a RANT!

I have not been so far up on all the discussions, but couldn't they have gotten it, but it would have effected their own bottom line, so they are simply blaming others now. I know that mlb comes off as extremely greedy here, but in essence, so does dishnetwork... this really is horrible!

    not sure where else to post this, since it is similar to the "black out" conversation going on here. This has never happened to me, but whatever. On Monday, ESPN was blacked out for me in watching the Royals game vs. the Red Sox. I have had Royals games blacked out before, but never when it was on the parent chanel of ESPN. What's up with that? Anyone know?

    Hey guys, a little help if possible - do any of you know where to find out the TV schedule for the Cubs on WGN? Have they posted that yet? On the Espn site, they have which games they have on Espn & Fox, but nothing for WGN. Thanks for your help...
