Seeing as we're about as likely to contend as the royals i'd really like to see guzman get more chances. I know he uses too many pitches but i really like this guy and think eventually he'll make it just needs time.

I have a feeling that Jim will not look to RF in order to improve. JJ for some satanic reason is here for 3 years and no team will want a piece of that. IMO no way the Abreu deal is poss. I still think Wilson is the most likely to platoon and play some 1st. Only realistic option short term could be Williams and prospect for Soriano.

Not once have i personally said that booing is the problem. What concearns me is the ' all kinds of stuff' that is being said. Its not just going to be you suck is it?? we all know what the guys hinting at and if it is verbal abuse its unacceptable however i never moaned about booing its part of the right of a fan........

The treatment being dished out is certainly not why i fell in love with the cubs. Wrigley has never been 'little philly' and whilst i hate the tag of the loveable losers i hate the fans that are crapping on the memories of generations of players and genuine cub fans. I'm not talking about booing as you pay your money you voice your opinion i'm talking about 'all kinds of stuff' as Jones calls it. BTW i am no Jones lover , i didn't like the move and hated the contract however i don't believe in abuse as being the way to voice my dissaproval. Will this nastiness at the park only go when we finally win and the bwgners go away??.

Anyone notice cedenos throws?? he seems to be aalot more deliberate with his motion towards walker. Maybe he recognises we just can't afford errors needlessly.

Silverman on the am show advocating buying Clemens anything he wants to get him here. His theory it's all about the pitching. Thoughts?? Personally i think Nolan Ryan could pitch with this run support, it just isn't happening.

What about Tony Clark would he be any better than mabry? He doesn't seem to be getting the ABs with the D-Backs.

Teams may well be set but you can always explore situations. The O's don't want to pay Mora top whack could he not be available? What about looking to another position to fill the gap. Would the Marlins accept Pie, Murton and Hill for Cabrera?? just wish our gm would think a little outside the box.

I agree looking at the positives we could play around 500 ball. BTW i don't think a team would be out of there mind to trade at this point, if this happens 3 weeks ago we could of taken a chance on Carlos Pena. ST is another time people apparently don't trade according to Hendry yet the reds came out of that Arroyo deal ok didn't they??

People seem to be missing the point which for once Rosenthal manages to make in his latest article. The cubs were short a bat anyway. To win the division we needed another bat in between or behind Aram and D-Lee. Now we have lost D-lee we are 2 huge bats short. IMO no amount of pitching can make up for this.

Ok i've woken up to the news you guys heard last night and i'm pretty pissed as i'm sure you are however........ I'm tired of this muddle through approach Hendry has when adversity strikes. Every time a player is hurt they are either un-replaceable or it's the wrong time of year to trade. Why can't we shift Twalk across and talk to the nationals about Vidro or Soriano?, why can't hendry at least look at teams like the diamondbacks who have a surplus in the IF combined with prospects. I would even ask the O's about Tejada again, would they take Murton, Hill, Williams package? you could then move Jones to LF and play Pie in RF with Cedeno moving to 2B. Can Mora play 1B? he is in dispute with the O's over his contract. None of these scenarios may work out but at least investigate the possibilities. Get well soon D-Lee we need you........

What would it take to get vidro or soriano if D-Lee is out for extended time?? you could move Twalk to 1B and Vidro would fit nicely as a no 2 hitter with walk moving to 4th or 5th??. I know we have the log jam at 2nd but if dlee is injured for a period this team will suffer a major power outage. I don't see the reds offering Dunn and i would rather deal from some position of strength. ie the Nationals need pitching and have to do something with soriano or vidro. -

I think a realistic trade would be for a guy like C wilson. When our pitching returns would you do Williams and Navoa for Wilson?? Only other scenario is another teams salary dump such as Burrell from the phillies.
